Batman Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Spurs losing at home to newcastle. remy scores again
S-Clarke Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Spurs look shambolic. If Newcastle really want this, they could get a couple here. Spurs look a little ''round pegs, square holes'' this year. Trying to fit all the new players in at once, that's why loads of new signings may be exciting in the boring summer months, but it's not a particularly good policy for success.
Batman Posted 10 November, 2013 Author Posted 10 November, 2013 they dont have bale scoring wonder goals every other week to win them games he now starting to be brilliant for madrid
S-Clarke Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 If there's ever a year to ''break up'' the top 4 - this could be the one. Anyone can really be anyone this year.
igsey Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Can't see a mid-table Man U getting anything from the Arse today - it's going to be a tough game for us in a fortnight.
Mowgli Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 We are the clear meanest defence in the league again!
S-Clarke Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Performance of the weekend from Krul. 90mins now, still 0-1 to Newcastle. Looks like we'll be staying top 4 for the international break.
Colinjb Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Performance of the weekend from Krul. 90mins now, still 0-1 to Newcastle. Looks like we'll be staying top 4 for the international break. Fingers crossed now for Sunderland and that we stay in the top 3. We want to avoid those pesky Champions League playoffs now don't we.
Picard Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 When we play Newcastle it will be a bit like France vs England.
norwaysaint Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 How are people feeling about the arsenal game? A draw is probably best in the long run, fewer points shared out by our rivals. A man it'd win means top spot is possible next game, but puts united back in the hunt to overtake us too. Arsenal win keeps united out of it and top spot is pretty unlikely anyway. i'd prefer a draw.
stevegrant Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Throwing this one out there, despite having had such a big impact on England qualifying for the World Cup, Andros Townsend won't go to Brazil.
adrian lord Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Come on you Mackems ! Spurs bought a lot of fancy, over-priced tosh in the summer. AVB will start fearing for his job before long.
Crab Lungs Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Is anyone really surprised Spurs are sh1t? They have a terrible manager. Bale dragged them through the season last year... ... dare I say it, but they could really use someone like Saggy with the talent they've got at their disposal.
Saint_clark Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Come on you Mackems ! Spurs bought a lot of fancy, over-priced tosh in the summer. AVB will start fearing for his job before long. Bit of a knee-jerk there, they're still a VERY good side. What a result though. Come on Sunderland!
Faz Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Throwing this one out there, despite having had such a big impact on England qualifying for the World Cup, Andros Townsend won't go to Brazil. Agreed. Was saying the same. He's a one trick pony. Lallana on the other hand.......

Behave, we are not challenging for the title. An arsenal win would definitely be the best result for us as it leaves utd a few points behind. If the pressure builds on them, as it will, it's not completely beyond the realms of possibility that we could finish higher than them, but only if they crack (which an arsenal win might help). Even then it's an outside shout at best, these are still not really our rivals. Great times, but let's not be silly, hey?
de-fence Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 A very exciting prospect: City fail to beat Sunderland away United beat Arsenal by 2 Liverpool fail to beat Everton away We beat Arsenal Certainly all possible though the last of those is perhaps the least likely BUT, if that does happen... We'll be sat top of the Premier League following the next league weekend. Unthinkably good!
paulwantsapint Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Best result at old Trafford is a massive brawl with multiple red cards & points deduction

Jimmy_D Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Results so far this weekend have been near-perfect!

I don't think we should be interfering in other teams problems. Just let them destroy each other.
Saint_Tony Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Does anyone want the title this year? Looks like it'll be a record low tally to win it
Solid Saint Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Does anyone want the title this year? Looks like it'll be a record low tally to win it We do !
Bearsy Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 At the start of the season I thought Chelsea, Man City, Tottenham, Man Utd would be the probable top four. They're all below us. Mental!
Solid Saint Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 At the start of the season I thought Chelsea, Man City, Tottenham, Man Utd would be the probable top four. They're all below us. Mental! Deservedly so too. Weird.
Jimmy_D Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Realistically, our chances of the title are incredibly tiny, but that's still a huge amount more than they normally are! The league is strange this year, the biggest chance in a long long time for an 'outsider' to win it.
Window Cleaner Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 So Bardsley scores again, 2nd goal in 2 games, don't think he'd ever scored for them before. Great move by Mauricio, playing our bis XI, boosted their confidence and allowed Bardsley to learn how to score.
CanadaSaint Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 I can't get over the fact that I'm sitting here on my own, grinning like an idiot, rooting for teams to do us a favour by beating Arsenal, Man U, Man C, Chelsea, Liverpool and Spurs rather than Palace, Stoke, West Ham, Sunderland, Cardiff etc. It's still taking a bit of getting used-to, but I'll deal with it.
Northant Saint Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 I want United to win later on so we have the chance to go top when we travel to the Emirates! Being top of the prem even for one week will see me satisfied.
Northernsaint Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 I can't get over the fact that I'm sitting here on my own, grinning like an idiot, rooting for teams to do us a favour by beating Arsenal, Man U, Man C, Chelsea, Liverpool and Spurs rather than Palace, Stoke, West Ham, Sunderland, Cardiff etc. It's still taking a bit of getting used-to, but I'll deal with it. Me too, my Bolton supporting mate and I were talking about man u v ars and I said I wanted utd to win even though I hate them with a passion. He said why theyre scum. I said coz we will be one win off top of the league if arsenal get beat lol. Hoping big teams drop pts is surreal.
Rut Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 A very exciting prospect: City fail to beat Sunderland away United beat Arsenal by 2 Liverpool fail to beat Everton away We beat Arsenal Certainly all possible though the last of those is perhaps the least likely BUT, if that does happen... We'll be sat top of the Premier League following the next league weekend. Unthinkably good! I like your thinking. I'll def have a pint of that. Man Utd to win will do. We can beat Arsenal by more than 1 to go top. Like others have said this is all a bit weird. Wanting top teams to lose cos it matters to Saints. Come on Sunderland. Gonna be a long 20 mins here...
Colinjb Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 10 minutes for the Mackems to stand firm. Even if they concede one it's ok.
Batman Posted 10 November, 2013 Author Posted 10 November, 2013 watching this, think sunderland will stay up this year
VectisSaint Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Does anyone want the title this year? Looks like it'll be a record low tally to win it Think it might be better to come 2nd (or even 3rd) rather than win the title. That way we can sneak up on the Champs League teams who won't realise that we have qualified or are any good. It was not considred important to win titles when we were in League One and Championship according to some on here thought it was of no consequence actually winning the divisional title. I assume this still applies in our quest to finish runners-up in the Champions League. My view is that we should have been trying to win the treble this year, but seems like the club is unambitious and only cares about the double.
Colinjb Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 City relentless at the moment... It's not going to be enough!
Colinjb Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 We are Southampton, we're third in the league.
Batman Posted 10 November, 2013 Author Posted 10 November, 2013 great win by the mackems gus will keep them up with games to spare IMO
saint si Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Looks like City will be concentrating on the league cup.
