@SouthamptonFC: Cork on #DeadlineDay: "I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't sign anyone, because we've got a great bunch in there." #saintsfc

A 'planted' hint or Cork just speaking off the top of his head?

The club getting Cork to do their dirty work probably.

Translation: no one coming in as Osvaldo is staying. Expect a breaking news type apology soon.

According to?

Goal.com apparently, so dubious online source then. http://www.caughtoffside.com/2014/01/30/arsenal-to-make-emergency-move-for-southampton-enforcer/?

Article says they "could be interested" so the worst kind of sensationalism but also mention they've been watching young Morgan for a year and a half or so.

A year and a half !! Wenger has been watching him since he was 5 years old, never bought him yet though so I expect we can rest easy on that one.

Former Arsenal defender Oleg Luzhny has dismissed Liverpool-target Yevhen Konoplyanka as a "headless chicken".Liverpool are battling Tottenham to land Konoplyanka in a £15million deal from Ukrainian side Dnipro.

Luzhny feels the Premier League duo could be making a mistake because he says the winger would be better suited to playing in Spain or Italy.

"I don't think the English league is right for him," said the ex-Ukrainian international.

"Konoplyanka's style of play is better suited to Italy or Spain. The game in England is totally different - it's about power. You have to run back and forth, back and forth. You run at speed up and down, and it's like that for 90 minutes.

"I saw how he played in the [World Cup qualification playoff] second leg against France, when Ukraine lost 3-0, and he was like a headless chicken.

"It is a completely different level. When you play in the Ukraine, you can afford not to run.

"In the match against France, it was evident that Konoplyanka barely runs at all. Konoplyanka is a good player, but he is suited to Spain or Italy, not England."

Oh well.... bullet dodged....next!

According to a source in Ukraine, Liverpool have upped their offer for Konoplyanka to 19.4m euros. Prepared to pay him £60k-a-week.

This source in Ukraine also claims Spurs are out of the race, but that Liverpool now face competition from an unnamed German side.

He's never worth anything like that sum, just agent bullcrap at work again.

Dan Harding must be fuming! Also assume MP sees Target as ready to step up as we all know Shaw won't play every minute and although poor backup, fox was at least a form of backup.

the back-up is Clyne on the left,Chambers on the right at present, Targett doesn't enter into the equation as of yet.

Translates to 'we have Liverpool over a barrel and want to squeeze an interest 2 or 3m out of them by feigning interest from other clubs'

Not sure why agents still do this as everyone knows it's horse s**t
