Hah love it, BFS goes to the tribunal and helps Traoré get a WP and then Everton offer him better terms. Can't see why Everton would want Traoré when they already have Lukaku on loan though because surely for 16 or so games they don't need both and Traoré has only just signed for Monaco.

WOW what a week, NC leaving, MP staying, Players not being sold. Since this is a transfer thread I will stick to the topic. New people in, not likely, not that I as a fan would not like to see big money , proven players to come in, but its not going to happen the big clubs are looking for new talent too, they will beat us to anyone with any WORLD CLASS talent. The relegation teams will pay over the odds for the rest of the OK players that are available for a January move. Loans I don't like if we have no real chance of signing them full time (like Saha). So here we are with what we have, and to be honest, we have A LOT!!, a team that can beat the best when playing our strongest players and some promising youngsters in the wings that need to be tested. We had a bad spell of results during Christmas, playing top sides that were coming into form, but I saw a team that still competed even though we had key players out and some bad luck. Never had i thought we don't belong on the same pitch as those big teams, we are a good team worthy of challenging for Europe. Now the key part. Just a few more points and then we will be safe. Don't underestimate that, SAFE from relegation and the millions it brings to a club. Half of the league is not SAFE!! bottom 10 are all under huge pressure to stay up. So MP will have an envious position, he will have the time to really tinker and test the players he needs to integrate into his team, I feel we have two major signing still to come in and help this team (Ossie and Ramerez), they still have huge potential (I see it, and hope they can prove it), we have our youth that can be integrated and tested to see how they can handle the PL, our youth coaches have not been to far off when they said Luke and JWP can make the step up, there are about 3-5 more they say are good enough to make it, lets see them tested in the relegation free second half of the season. They are all playing the MP style in training, he is known for integrating youth. This will give him the time to assess these boys under real PL challenges. We had a taste of the top 4, but realized we need more depth, more of our present squad to show they can step up to fill in for the consistent good players. This will help MP immensely in deciding what we really need for next seasons push up the table. I agree we should have a real go for the FA cup this year, our best 11, playing for silverware like there lives depended on it!!!..........now this brings me back to the drama circus of the present. This all depends on where MP head is at, I am staying to make this SFC a top team or I am biding my time to leave at the end of the year

3 goals in 25 appearances between them this season. Much worse record than Osvaldo, so no idea why you'd think that's good business? £12.5m plus 1.5 times the wages of Osvaldo! Good call chump!

Some people might only watch our games and since they both have scored against us they must be great players ;)

Looks like we're flogging a bit of a dead horse with this thread and people are posting silly things. I mean I could put in a link to an article that says Shaw will eventually be going to Chelsea for 11 million quid but it's obviously rubbish so what would be the point.

Needs to be closed, no-one in, no-one out, just as was said a while back.

Never said they would be good signings for us - read my original post. Said they were good signings for Hull!!

Hull are a new premiership side and doing pretty well with limited resources. They have now just signed two international strikers, both with proven prem experience and goals.

play the post not the poster

no idea, I know Roma are signing Michel Bastos though ( a player we should have looked at for the sum involved). He was farmed out to Al Ain where of course he's totally wasted. I thought Roma's problem is that they have too many Non EEC players though so couldn't play Gaston this season and were going to loan him out to Bologna (from whence he came). I don't think Bastos has a second nationality (altthough he could of acquired French nationality because he was with Lille and Lyon for a fair while). So the whole arguement falls down unless Bastos has a 2nd European nationality.

The person we need to replace is Dejan, not Ramirez.

We've got by 90% of the season without Ramirez perfectly well so far.

Only because Lallana has stayed fit.

If he gets injured or his form drops then with Gaston out as well we will have no creativity at all.

In any event their position is one where there are effectively three players in the team, so we should have about six people competing seriously for those spots and it's an area*where we can certainly strengthen the first team IMO.

Davis, JWP and Guly are steady but there is zero serious competition with Jay Rod and Lallana for a starting role in the supporting three.

Over the summer, at least, we should be signing another creative/ explosive player regardless.

We're fine at full back, striker (I have faith in Osvaldo) and centre mid.

GK, AM and CB are where we need more competition.

Agree. We can get by in defence although another CB would be ideal - especially as Lovren is injured, however we definitely need another AM.

It's one of JWP or Davis, plus JRod and Lallana who we have zero competition for if Gaston is out.

If Lallana or JRod get a knock then we've got a real lack of creativity.

Isgrove?! That's a whole load of meeehhhh!

Maybe Sims is ready to step up?!

Sims has barely played for the under 21's (1 start and 1 sub appearance) and you want to skip him straight to the first team? He is still an under 18 player looking to break into the under 21's with Sinclair, Isgrove, Rowe all ahead of him at the moment.

People haven't heard much about Isgrove recently because he has only recently returned from an injury.

I don't know, I'm just going by what the man said:rolleyes: Then again I don't believe for one iota of a nanosecond that the situation was totally unknown to Mauricio when he made that statement. It all just falls into place so perfectly if you assume that...and being a person who deals in theory and hypothesis most of the time it's so easy for me. I see the U21s being bigged up everywhere on the OS today, apparently Mauricio is pleased with them...now what does that tell you?

Quite a long term injury it would seem, several months.

I've no idea about him tbh, just heard people raving about him. It's not like it's never happened that a player goes straight from the 18s to the first team is it?

It tells me that it's the FA Cup this weekend and several of them will be playing for the first team.

I very much doubt that actually, they may be on the bench but they won't play in normal circumstances. Think we'll take it seriously and the entire game will be played by players from the first team squad at least. It's a very winnable game and we'll take no chances.
