mulletsaint Posted 9 November, 2013 Posted 9 November, 2013 Humble words from Steve Bruce and nice recognition of Lallana's talents. http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896/premier-league/2013/11/09/4395963/-
Ohio Saint Posted 9 November, 2013 Posted 9 November, 2013 I can't think of anything to add! Honest and awesomely humble!
kwsaint Posted 9 November, 2013 Posted 9 November, 2013 Comes across as a genuinely nice bloke. Felt the same way about Martinez. Would love Hull to stay up this year. Think they deserve it since there are plenty more worse teams in the PL than Hull.
Barry Sanchez Posted 9 November, 2013 Posted 9 November, 2013 Steve Bruce is a gent in that regard, superb first half, blitzed them.
marc_saint Posted 9 November, 2013 Posted 9 November, 2013 Here's his BBC interview..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsnazKJ2ass
BlakeySFC Posted 9 November, 2013 Posted 9 November, 2013 Always liked Steve Bruce, an incredibly honest, genuine football manager.
jawillwill Posted 9 November, 2013 Posted 9 November, 2013 Here's his BBC interview..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsnazKJ2ass We won 4-0 according to that.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 9 November, 2013 Posted 9 November, 2013 Some valid and honest praise from Steve. Anyone that watched us today would have been impressed. Just home we get a good showing on MOTD tonight
Rasiak-9- Posted 9 November, 2013 Posted 9 November, 2013 We were discussing him earlier actually during the game. Aside from being a gentleman, he's a very good manager, and has done brilliantly well getting Hull this far. Certainly the sort of sensible and stable manager you'd trust with your club, even though he might not be the most glamourous.
Junction 9 Posted 9 November, 2013 Posted 9 November, 2013 I met him at a wedding once, happy to have a chat. Lovely bloke.
Whitey Grandad Posted 9 November, 2013 Posted 9 November, 2013 For some reason I never used to like him but... Respect
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 9 November, 2013 Posted 9 November, 2013 Always liked him for some inexplicable reason. Decent, if unspectacular manager. Think he'll keep hull up, which is no mean feat. Good on him.
Bailey Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Always liked him on the basis that he comes across as a normal, decent bloke. Even more respect for him following his post-match comments.
Dig Dig Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Can I be the first to say, I really like Steve Bruce, always have.
Saint J 77 Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Didn't know about the Sunderland interest in Adam. "And Lallana ... I went to watch him four years ago when he played at Carlisle in League One when I was up at Sunderland but the lad wanted to stay here and they've reaped the benefits of that. He's got a big future – he's an exceptionally gifted footballer
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Also, one of those guys that never got an England cap that definitely should have. Bizarre really considering the success he had as Utd captain.
alpine_saint Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Also, one of those guys that never got an England cap that definitely should have. Bizarre really considering the success he had as Utd captain. Yeah, was just thinking the same considering the fact that him and Pallister had such a good partnership and Pallister was capped
whelk Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Nice to here such honest comments. Was saying nice things before the game and doing a decent job at Hull for a dinner lady
Danbert Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 He's a Championship manager and a bit of a Neanderthal. Every time he's managed in the Premiership it's been a disaster. Hull's wheels will fall off sooner or later. IMHO.

Hull's wheels will fall off sooner or later. IMHO. Eh? Sunderland aside, where he had a decent season before a bad run. Where else has he been a disaster? Agree he isn't the most forward thinking, and not the most exciting, but he is a solid premiership manager.

CB Fry Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 He's a Championship manager and a bit of a Neanderthal. Every time he's managed in the Premiership it's been a disaster. Hull's wheels will fall off sooner or later. IMHO. Utterly moronic statement. Solid mid table performances with not one, not two but three Premier League sides. And on track for a fourth. Pray tell, which club has he been a "disaster" at?
September Saint Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Humble words from Steve Bruce and nice recognition of Lallana's talents. http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896/premier-league/2013/11/09/4395963/- What a pleasant change to the likes of Holloway etc.......and don't get me started about Mourinho!!!
Danbert Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 He was relegated with Birmingham and damn nearly relegated with both Wigan and Sunderland.
Batman Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 He was relegated with Birmingham and damn nearly relegated with both Wigan and Sunderland. and took them up staying up is a good thing with those teams, yes?
CB Fry Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 He was relegated with Birmingham and damn nearly relegated with both Wigan and Sunderland. What seasons did he "damn near relegate" Wigan and Sunderland then? He saved Wigan following a disasterous start to the season under Hutchings I think. And he took Sunderland to solid mid table and was sacked probably prematurely and it's not like they have done any better since. And needless to say got the Sunderland job because of his good record at Wigan also known as not "damn near" relegating them.
Badger Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 A refreshing response, and as said above a welcome change from the likes of Holloway, and most of the big club managers who'd pin defeat on the ref or their own bad luck rather than credit the opposition. My judgement of Bruce has been impaired by his association with Man U, although even there he seemed a lot more acceptable face than the Rio's etc. Had forgotten he was overlooked by England, travesty if Pallister was capped. I think his managerial career has probably been blighted by some poor club choices really.
Crab Lungs Posted 10 November, 2013 Posted 10 November, 2013 Decent manager, decent bloke. Hull fans were impressed too... http://www.ambernectar.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=7834 http://www.hullcityindependent.net/?page=forum&forum_id=4&thread_id=16888
