The9 Posted 20 November, 2013 Posted 20 November, 2013 And they defeated this giant, this massive side. One to nil. I want to go to this game, I don't care if it's youth level.... this is a fair play of club v club, no transfer budgets, no excesses. This is infrastructure v infrastructure. We shall gut them. Though all of our U-18s might be in the first team by then, or playing for England or something. I don't really care, tbh. They beat Moneyfields 12-0 and they're a Wessex League Premier side.

It's a derby, and one without the pretentious trappings. Youth v Youth. System v System. In the highest profile competition below senior level. We will be taking this seriously, as they no doubt will too.
OldNick Posted 20 November, 2013 Posted 20 November, 2013 We are a hiding to nothing on this one. It will be their cup final, we will be expected to roll them over big time ,while they have nothing to lose. A narrow 1goal victory or a defeat IMO. The club will not play any high profile players and it is a bit sad for us if this game is such a big thing. Yes, I would lik to win big but to make it something that it is not is a bit odd
Griffo Posted 20 November, 2013 Posted 20 November, 2013 Will be gutted if this is behind closed doors.

Just not interested in it, all our best U-18s are involved at a higher level, it means nothing.
The9 Posted 20 November, 2013 Posted 20 November, 2013 Enough to post mate. Bored at 1am, something to look up re: Barton, doesn't take much.
Barry Sanchez Posted 20 November, 2013 Posted 20 November, 2013 I hope we take this as seriously as we did the recent Cup game against Sunderland................................................................
so18 saint Posted 21 November, 2013 Posted 21 November, 2013 See on fans online plenty of Pompey fans have already made plans of making appearance at this game some even apparently booked or booking accommodation
JackanorySFC Posted 21 November, 2013 Posted 21 November, 2013 See on fans online plenty of Pompey fans have already made plans of making appearance at this game some even apparently booked or booking accommodation Oh God, here we go again, same old rumours as every other time. Mate, you need to realise that EVERY time we have played them, been in the same place or even had the England game at SMS, before they make the same idle threats but they NEVER back it up. "Why do birds from Pompey have massive bristols and small ****s? ' Cos blokes from Pompey have big mouths and small *******s"

"Why do birds from Pompey have massive bristols and small ****s? ' Cos blokes from Pompey have big mouths and small *******s" I think he just meant they were using it to have their family holiday. Dad, Mum , 3 sons, 1 of which is a cousin as well and their Grandparents (also auntie to the cousin) all booked up for the weekend in a family room at the IBIS.
Tokyo-Saint Posted 21 November, 2013 Posted 21 November, 2013 They'll be doing scouting missions and getting off at st deny's to avoid the police next. Heard it all before.
benjii Posted 21 November, 2013 Posted 21 November, 2013 Apparently they are teaming up with Milwall, Rangers, Stoke, Besikats and Red Star Belgrade to give us a pasting.
OldNick Posted 21 November, 2013 Posted 21 November, 2013 See on fans online plenty of Pompey fans have already made plans of making appearance at this game some even apparently booked or booking accommodation I expect they will bring some down. How many fans are we expecting to turn up? Not manysurely
Huffton Posted 21 November, 2013 Posted 21 November, 2013 Wouldn't start getting too excited, its bound to be played behind closed doors
Macey_J2 Posted 22 November, 2013 Posted 22 November, 2013 I was at the 0-2 loss to Everton last year, im sure callum chambers was playing up front, and jake sinclair looked like a future prospect. Hopefully they'l let public in on this game. I know alot of people who want to go!
Saints Warrior Posted 23 November, 2013 Posted 23 November, 2013 I thought the Saints site had a old post saying keep an eye for ticket details. These games have been open to fans before so expect the same. Dont worry about Skates, they cant even fill Fratton Park. Not many Skates at the England Germany game either and gave the blue few some stats up there. They need permission to have day release from prison so dont expect more than 100
Saint_clark Posted 25 November, 2013 Posted 25 November, 2013 Any updates on this? Quite fancy going if possible.
JRM Posted 25 November, 2013 Posted 25 November, 2013 they'll probably announce it on the day of the game to ensure no fans have time to make it down there. the game has until 21st December to be played, so still a few weeks away i should think.

Tokyo-Saint Posted 27 November, 2013 Posted 27 November, 2013 Cheers. ****, Tuesday at 7! was hoping it to be a weekend or late if on a work day.
The Cat Posted 27 November, 2013 Posted 27 November, 2013 Cheers. ****, Tuesday at 7! was hoping it to be a weekend or late if on a work day. Can't have it too late, the team need to be tucked up in bed with a warm glass of milk by 2130.
jawillwill Posted 27 November, 2013 Posted 27 November, 2013 Is youth cup U21 or U18 or other? I thought U21s got knocked out of a cup about a week ago?
Matthew Le God Posted 27 November, 2013 Posted 27 November, 2013 Is youth cup U21 or U18 or other? I thought U21s got knocked out of a cup about a week ago? It is the under 18's.
trousers Posted 27 November, 2013 Posted 27 November, 2013 No away end by the sounds of it. Looks that way. Itchen stand only on sale Edit: although they wouldn't advertise away ticket details on the OS would they?
Jonnyboy Posted 27 November, 2013 Posted 27 November, 2013 Silly question but can over 18s play in this match? Eg reserves needing match fitness
Matthew Le God Posted 27 November, 2013 Posted 27 November, 2013 Silly question but can over 18s play in this match? Eg reserves needing match fitness No, it is for players eligible for the under 18's in 2013/14 only. 3 overage outfield "reserves needing match fitness" and one overage keeper can play for the under 21 development side in league games.
Griffo Posted 27 November, 2013 Posted 27 November, 2013 Looks that way. Itchen stand only on sale Edit: although they wouldn't advertise away ticket details on the OS would they? I'd have thought they'd say something like 'The Northam stand will be open for away fans' or something along those lines. If any Pompey do make their way down then I'm sure the old bill would much rather stick them in their own part of the ground than have them out in the city centre somewhere.
Saint Garrett Posted 27 November, 2013 Posted 27 November, 2013 Would be tempted to come down for it if there were away fans there. Not sure I'm fussed if it's just home fans
OldNick Posted 28 November, 2013 Posted 28 November, 2013 I doubt their fans are too fussed about the game, it has little relevance.
hypochondriac Posted 28 November, 2013 Posted 28 November, 2013 I doubt their fans are too fussed about the game, it has little relevance. Yep they are.
Saint_clark Posted 28 November, 2013 Posted 28 November, 2013 I doubt their fans are too fussed about the game, it has little relevance. They really are, saw some of them saying they could bring a couple of hundred down for this. It's a mistake if seating is not segregated.
Tomobz Posted 28 November, 2013 Posted 28 November, 2013 (edited) Just bought ten tickets in block 5, this will be a really interesting evening. Anyone who can get to the game should make the effort to support the youth team in a big local derby. Plus it will likely be the last time we see any Portsmouth team at St. Mary's for a long time! For a fiver you can't go wrong Edited 28 November, 2013 by Tomobz
Griffo Posted 28 November, 2013 Posted 28 November, 2013 (edited) Pompey do have an away end according the the ticketing website. Block 31 in the middle of the Kingsland says "away section" Edited 28 November, 2013 by Griffo
Griffo Posted 28 November, 2013 Posted 28 November, 2013 Just got there first. Shame they can't just stick them next to us in the normal away end.
Saints Warrior Posted 28 November, 2013 Posted 28 November, 2013 Got mine in block 5. Need to wear my `mind the gap` Saints PL and Pompey leaque 2 t shirt. bring some banners to to remind them who is top club! Normally for Eastleigh vs Havent and Skatesville there are about 300 Skates out of 2,000 so expect a few as most dont have jobs so they dont need to take time off and will hop on train to get in pub at midday same as last non policed meeting between us and Skates. Unless they have the escorted coach only travel I expect lots at Soton Central on way to Eastleigh Chav Central!!
Golden Balls Posted 28 November, 2013 Posted 28 November, 2013 According to a skate mate, they'll be more of them there than us.
ericb Posted 28 November, 2013 Posted 28 November, 2013 Now wait for the Portsmyths to start, there'll be MILLIONS of them camped up in pubs all over the city and we won't show cause we're so scared of their supermen fans.
OldNick Posted 28 November, 2013 Posted 28 November, 2013 are we not making a bit much of this? its a friggin lads match.
Baldbarbarian Posted 28 November, 2013 Posted 28 November, 2013 are we not making a bit much of this? its a friggin lads match. Its their cup final
JRM Posted 28 November, 2013 Posted 28 November, 2013 are we not making a bit much of this? its a friggin lads match. not at all, a local derby is still a local derby at any level, especially when the 1st teams are not in the same division. Blackburn played Burnley a couple of years ago and had a crowd of 12k odd , i reckon we'll have 5-6k for this .
hypochondriac Posted 28 November, 2013 Posted 28 November, 2013 are we not making a bit much of this? its a friggin lads match. No.
influx Posted 28 November, 2013 Posted 28 November, 2013 No. And hopefully after experiencing a good atmosphere it will make the lads hungry for more. Its a win win.
JRM Posted 28 November, 2013 Posted 28 November, 2013 And hopefully after experiencing a good atmosphere it will make the lads hungry for more. Its a win win. I'm sure Jason Dodd will make sure the lads know what's expected of them, and so will the crowd. I went to the 2-0 defeat to Everton last year which was very disappointing so hope this is better.
LGTL Posted 28 November, 2013 Posted 28 November, 2013 No doubt they'll harp on about us "not showing up" for at least the next 50 years, even though in reality they'll be three of them in a pub in Eastleigh at 2.30 that afternoon.
