No. I'd execute and insurgent who just been trying to kill me and who would do the same to me in a heat beat.

I'd lose no sleep over it either.

Then you'd be openly breaking the Geneva Convention (as he admitted on the tape) and be banged up. Mind you you'd probably sleep soundly in the nick too.

Out of curiosity, what do you type into Google to find these cynical and bitter articles? ;)

Feeds from the Guardian and Another Angry Voice to my Facebook account. Simple really - you should try it sometime.

Cynical and bitter? Or an alternative take on current issues?

I see the French are starting to revive the "bleuet" (cornflower) again. Bit difficult to get your hands on but very pretty all the same. You can wear it twice a year as well, around Remembrance Day (day off for us) and the 8th of May.

"dont be deceived when they tell you things are better now.Even if there is no poverty to be seen because the povertys been hidden.Even if you got more wages and could afford to buy more of these new and useless goods which industries foist on you and even if it seems you have never had so much, that is only the slogan of those who have much more than you.Dont be taken in when they paternally pat you on the shoulder and say there is no inequality worth speaking of and no more reason to fight because if you believe them they will be completely in charge in their marble homes and granite banks from which they rob the people of the world under the pretence of bringing them culture.Watch out for as soon as it pleases them they will send you out to defend their gold in wars whose weapons, rapidly developed by serville scientists, will become more and more deadly until they can with the flick of a finger tear a million of you to pieces.

Nothing has changed.

of course it would be oh so different if we had revolution. The top party members would live in the social houses and run around on a pushbike I assume, we would all take it in turns to live in the stately homes. Steak meals for everyone each night and there would be nobody needed to do the menial jobs, and everyone would be equally paid and there would be no division.Lol Politics of envy have never changed and never will do. Get the revolution and the majority would be no better off, just a cosy life for the agitators and loudmouths who would gain, and they would be the ones dishing out the orders, never really worrying about the ordinary person.

We in the main are very fortunate, and yes there is some awful corruption etc going on, but I dont think a change of our society and pecking order would help us at all

Apparently not. Seems we would have to eat cake.

Ah the old "qu'ils mangent de la brioche" always attributed to Marie-Antoinette of course. Trouble is when JJ Rousseau wrote that in his "Confessions", attributed to a Great Princess, Mare Antoinette was about 8 years old. Old JJ never names the "Great Princess" of course and as likely as not he simply made it up.
