saint lard Posted 8 November, 2013 Posted 8 November, 2013 Well done, bloody deserved. we have come along way under his short tenure....long may it continue. Cortese played a blinder getting him in.
Kingsland Red Posted 8 November, 2013 Posted 8 November, 2013 ... and the Saints social media feeds. Congratulations , well deserved.
Bad Wolf Posted 8 November, 2013 Author Posted 8 November, 2013 Guess it's official then lol! Well done MP. Fully deserved.
yorkie Posted 8 November, 2013 Posted 8 November, 2013 There goes our form - the curse of the MOTM award! :-)
BotleySaint Posted 8 November, 2013 Posted 8 November, 2013 He doesn't look too pleased with the trophy. I guess he knows the stigma surrounding it. Guaranteed defeat against Hull!
trousers Posted 8 November, 2013 Posted 8 November, 2013 http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/pochettino-wins-manager-of-the-month-1162109.aspx @SouthamptonFC: MP: "I am obviously delighted to have won this award, but I must stress that this is a reflection of the work of many people at #SaintsFC." @SouthamptonFC: MP: "First and foremost, credit must go to the players for the performances and hard work they have put in." #saintsfc @SouthamptonFC: MP: "I must also thank the incredible people at this club, right from the chairman to the staff working at the training ground." #saintsfc
Minty Posted 8 November, 2013 Posted 8 November, 2013 Such a good week so far - gonna lose to Hull aren't we?! lol
buctootim Posted 8 November, 2013 Posted 8 November, 2013 Congrats to MP, pity him the trashy trophy though. Why don't sponsors understand they would look better giving away something subtle and attractive that reflects well on them - instead of huge logos and corporate colours made out of plastic?
SNSUN Posted 8 November, 2013 Posted 8 November, 2013 Congratulations to Mauricio Pochettino! Fully deserved this month, but there are a tougher couple of months coming up. Staying in the top six by Christmas would be a remarkable achievement, but I'll be happy as long as we remain within touching distance.
dubai_phil Posted 8 November, 2013 Posted 8 November, 2013 That's our season jinxed then..... But well done to MP may this be the first of many with us, after all we seem to have broken all the other Jinxs this season
corky morris Posted 8 November, 2013 Posted 8 November, 2013 Excellent. Well deserved! Hope it doesn't jinx us!!
Saint Charlie Posted 8 November, 2013 Posted 8 November, 2013 Anyone who believes in some sort of jinx should get their head examined. Fully deserved award. His methods work, and generate results. Not sure what his loss percentage is is the league but it will be amongst the best outside the top 4 I am sure.
Spudders Posted 8 November, 2013 Posted 8 November, 2013 Anyone who believes in some sort of jinx should get their head examined. oh come on, what with this and Mark Lawrenson predicting us to win this weekend, you just know Hull are gonna rip us apart!
Saint Charlie Posted 8 November, 2013 Posted 8 November, 2013 oh come on, what with this and Mark Lawrenson predicting us to win this weekend, you just know Hull are gonna rip us apart! They may well do. But not because of either of those reasons haha.
Spudders Posted 8 November, 2013 Posted 8 November, 2013 They may well do. But not because of either of those reasons haha. So you are saying Lawro can not directly influence the results of premiership games with his predictions? Interesting, are you able to prove this?
Saint86 Posted 8 November, 2013 Posted 8 November, 2013 I tell you what, your friend was quick, he managed to tell you, and then you got it online all before St Lard, who is trying to steal your thunder none the less
Noodles34 Posted 8 November, 2013 Posted 8 November, 2013 Remember when Chris Nicholl won it and then went something like 20+ games without winning, was it a Ruddock pen at The Dell that stopped the rot (and kept us up)? Or was that another bad run?
rallyboy Posted 8 November, 2013 Posted 8 November, 2013 He wants to be the best. A bit of shiny tat from a bunch of bankers doesn't quite hack it - you get no points for it. Fair play to him, and well done. Onwards and upwards.
Saintandy666 Posted 8 November, 2013 Posted 8 November, 2013 Good stuff. He got a tonne of **** when he first got here, from inside the establishment and out. This is finally acceptance for him, case closed. He can be judged on merit rather than a load of other crap people have been judging him on.
waggy Posted 8 November, 2013 Posted 8 November, 2013 Good stuff. He got a tonne of **** when he first got here, from inside the establishment and out. SNOWY Posted 8 November, 2013 Posted 8 November, 2013 Remember the old days when the award was sponsored by Bells and the recipient would be presented with a huge bottle of whiskey.
rallyboy Posted 8 November, 2013 Posted 8 November, 2013 Good point Hatch, he has been very lucky as he speaks no English and can't communicate with half of the squad - according to some gullible tabloid readers. What a crazy mistake the club made there... I remember all those people from other clubs gobbing off and hoping we got relegated post-Nige, some supporting Harry and QPR to survive so that we would go down, others predicting Saints in freefall. Add in the media-organised handkerchief non-protest, and people of a mischievous nature might be inspired to say at this point, up yours. Fickle old business. Three losses on the trot and some will be asking for his head. In the meantime, what a journey!
trousers Posted 8 November, 2013 Posted 8 November, 2013 He can speak better English than the last Saints manager to pick up the award...
sotonist Posted 8 November, 2013 Posted 8 November, 2013 He wants to be the best. Pokémon! Gotta catch em all.
Hatch Posted 8 November, 2013 Posted 8 November, 2013 That makes me feel sick, that badge on that complete and utter cun[
DT Posted 8 November, 2013 Posted 8 November, 2013 He can speak better English than the last Saints manager to pick up the award... If he shook it, you could hear the coins jangling
Sheaf Saint Posted 8 November, 2013 Posted 8 November, 2013 I'm sure his beard wasn't grey when he joined us in January. Has the stress got to him already?
offix Posted 8 November, 2013 Posted 8 November, 2013 I have been very skeptical about him, but I must admit I was wrong. This is well deserved.
Appy Posted 8 November, 2013 Posted 8 November, 2013 He can speak better English than the last Saints manager to pick up the award... Posting that picture deserves an infraction.
croydonsaint Posted 8 November, 2013 Posted 8 November, 2013 Posting that picture deserves an infraction. I bet hes not thinking winning it was down to "the players and the incredible people at this club, right from the chairman to the staff working at the training ground."
CB Fry Posted 8 November, 2013 Posted 8 November, 2013 Crappy pointless trophy that is completely beneath the European footballing giant we now are. Shouldn't even be trying to win that tin pot junk. I'm only interested in one piece of silverware, and that's the trophy all those clubs get for finishing fourth in the league.
The9 Posted 8 November, 2013 Posted 8 November, 2013 One of the main reasons MoM winners have bad results afterwards is because the award-givers don't always want to give it to the top teams, and for lower teams to be successful they've usually had an easier month, which also means they're also likely to have a difficult run of fixtures coming up. So, Pochettino wins Manager of the Month, and "coincidentally" Saints have the teams in 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th and 7th to play in 6 of the next 9 matches.
SW5 SAINT Posted 8 November, 2013 Posted 8 November, 2013 He can speak better English than the last Saints manager to pick up the award... I don't remember that……..

Shouldn't even be trying to win that tin pot junk. I'm only interested in one piece of silverware, and that's the trophy all those clubs get for finishing fourth in the league. Surely the only individual trophy that is worthy of us now is the ballon di'or for which lambert, Lallana and Rodriguez must be serious contenders.

Tamesaint Posted 9 November, 2013 Posted 9 November, 2013 Watch it. You will be getting Turkish, Kracken and the rest of the "mongboard" bullies after you again for daring to use a smiley.
