Forte, Martin, Barnard

three players who made a small, but vital contribution to our progress in the lower divsions, but sadly for them will never get a look in considering the standard of football we are playing now.

Can only hope they find good placements ....at a suitable club.....in the near future.

Not sure Martin was ever vital for us? Forte paid his transfer few against MK Dons, but was still an odd transfer at the time. Barnard was good for us, unfortunately the club has outgrown him. Sure they're still all on good money though.

Martin was of course never a regular, but a useful replacement when Fonte was out for a long period around Christmas / New Year in the Championship season, and played a dozen or so games that season. He also came on for the injured Hooiveld (in the SMS game v.Derby) and scored, (although it wasn't a vital goal to the result). Can't say he ever let the side down, I think he deserved a mention.

Barnard had one (and a half) good seasons..in L1,

.........and Forte one good game (v MK Dons.)

The first league game of the Championship season, started alongside Fonte. Didn't put a foot wrong.

Memories of the cup game v Blackpool stick. Seabourne and Martin started, Seabourne was by far the more composed and able player. Martin was never going to be top class but it's great to know a local lad played a part in our rise. He will be League 2 standard at best if he needs to lead a defensive line, as a team/squad member though he is easily league standard.

I was wondering about Lee Barnard too, surely just let him leave on a free, waste of a good football league striker

He would want to be paid off surely. Will have earned more in the last 36 months then he would be able to in an entire league one career.

Exactly. All 3 of these could have left if they so desired. They have decided to stay (and not play), as did Ryan Dickson, because of the generous contracts they are on.

Except when he gave away a penalty, eh? :(

I thought he went to Eastleigh (or Salisbury) on loan?

No as FF says he was injured pre season (the U21 game v Eastleigh)

The three players are probably costing the club close to a £1m a year in wages but that is a fact of life and most of us would continue to take our contracted pay until such time as it runs out or another suitable offer comes in

Separately understand that Tommy Forecast has moved on again. Any updates pl?

Think Dartford are a league above Chelmsford so it's a step up for him. Definitely his level though

Signed on loan for a month 'as cover'

Interesting comment when Tommy's move to Dartford was mentioned on the Chelmsford FC forum ...'More fool them'...

Seems like Tommy has made a suitable impression at Chelmsford

Tommy has made 30 league & Cup appearances for 9 clubs in 8 years

Perhaps he is a late developer!!
