Glasgow_Saint Posted 6 November, 2013 Posted 6 November, 2013 Will not dwell on tonight as mopo must have a bigger plan.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 6 November, 2013 Author Posted 6 November, 2013 arrogant Dont think he was arrogant tonight, hes been clear about his thoughts on the europa cup
Barry Sanchez Posted 6 November, 2013 Posted 6 November, 2013 Yes 4th or his head, simple as that..........................
Saint Charlie Posted 6 November, 2013 Posted 6 November, 2013 All tonight shows is that the players below the first team are quite a bit behind the first teamers, as we knew. Its been a superb season so far, but lets hope the likes of Davis, Hooiveld, Fox and Lee arent required for any stretch of time.
Olallana Posted 6 November, 2013 Posted 6 November, 2013 I think we really need to know what this thread is NOT about. You have started to explain your latest threads like that, we really need to know imo.
Wiggles31 Posted 6 November, 2013 Posted 6 November, 2013 Still have the FA cup which I am sure the club will take seriously. That was grade A dog sh!te from the management tonight. Worst decision from MP since he's been here.
Georgie Posted 6 November, 2013 Posted 6 November, 2013 All tonight shows is that the players below the first team are quite a bit behind the first teamers, as we knew. Its been a superb season so far, but lets hope the likes of Davis, Hooiveld, Fox and Lee arent required for any stretch of time. Hope we can get to January without having any serious injuries to key players. Playing Hooiveld or Fox for a few games fills me with dread
Saint Garrett Posted 6 November, 2013 Posted 6 November, 2013 Will not dwell on tonight as mopo must have a bigger plan. Why do you call him MoPo?! It's crap. Secondly, If this isn't a cup to give the youngsters a chance then when can you give them some game time. Personally I think you have to try your best to keep squad players happy, and bring through the best youth players. I don't have any anger towards Pochettino about playing that team. You can't expect us to be able to play our best 11 every match, especially Sat/Midweek/Sat at the high intensity that we play at. Glad to see some of the youngsters get a game. Reed looks like a cracking little talent. And another debutant in Gallagher. Maybe these apps will show others that there is a way through just like JWP and Shaw.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 6 November, 2013 Author Posted 6 November, 2013 The backups do worry me, but is it to harsh to judge when all together. A nice mix of 1st and backup and wed have won tonight

So I said this 2 months ago and was called a troll, it happens tonight and we all knew that, is it an elephant in the room situation? Can we only state perceived positive things about OUR club? Or can we give our opinion?
ottery st mary Posted 6 November, 2013 Posted 6 November, 2013 COYS Let us give our full attention to the league and FA Cup... Come on you mighty Saints.
Saint Garrett Posted 6 November, 2013 Posted 6 November, 2013 So I said this 2 months ago and was called a troll, it happens tonight and we all knew that, is it an elephant in the room situation? Can we only state perceived positive things about OUR club? Or can we give our opinion? You didn't say that though did you. You say things such as...."Gaston is sh!t", "The youngsters are sh!t", "Davis Yoshida Fox and Hooiveld are sh!t" Maybe if you put things in a more respectful way, then people maybe able to drum up a discussion with you. Yes, the players tonight aren't as good as the first team...isn't that why they're not playing every week?!
CB Saint Posted 6 November, 2013 Posted 6 November, 2013 The real truth is that we are several years away from having a competitive second string. We are two or three injuries or suspensions from being in a bit of bother.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 6 November, 2013 Author Posted 6 November, 2013 Every cloud........ http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?47526-Sunderland-2-Saints-1-Match-amp-Reactions&p=1810186#post1810186
Super_Saint Posted 6 November, 2013 Posted 6 November, 2013 In all fairness, you won't find many EPL clubs that would have been going gung-ho for a win tonight.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 6 November, 2013 Author Posted 6 November, 2013 Still have the FA cup which I am sure the club will take seriously. Hope so mate, really hope so. Problem with tonight is it puts more pressure on league finish and players may sense it Basket, one, eggs, put, in
The Kraken Posted 6 November, 2013 Posted 6 November, 2013 In all fairness, you won't find many EPL clubs that would have been going gung-ho for a win tonight. I dunno. Sunderland seemed to give it a good go.
wild-saint Posted 6 November, 2013 Posted 6 November, 2013 So I said this 2 months ago and was called a troll, it happens tonight and we all knew that, is it an elephant in the room situation? Can we only state perceived positive things about OUR club? Or can we give our opinion? sure opinions are great. its just nooone is interested i yours.
Super_Saint Posted 6 November, 2013 Posted 6 November, 2013 I dunno. Sunderland seemed to give it a good go. Can't really say I thought they looked that up for it. They certainly had more fight than us, but that doesn't say a lot for them.
Baldbarbarian Posted 6 November, 2013 Posted 6 November, 2013 Hope so mate, really hope so. Problem with tonight is it puts more pressure on league finish and players may sense it Basket, one, eggs, put, in Always about the league finish as thats where the ££ is
Olallana Posted 6 November, 2013 Posted 6 November, 2013 League Cup fixture between two teams in the same league will almost always favour the home team.
shirleysfc Posted 6 November, 2013 Posted 6 November, 2013 Yes 4th or his head, simple as that.......................... Or not.
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 6 November, 2013 Posted 6 November, 2013 Hahaha, do not feed the trolls. The usual rubbish from them I see.
Special K Posted 7 November, 2013 Posted 7 November, 2013 Why do you call him MoPo?! It's crap. So how will we cope in any European competition then? Even the "nailed on" 4th place that our high pressing game will undoubtedly reward us with at the end of the season (or so the forum guru's will have us believe).
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 7 November, 2013 Posted 7 November, 2013 So how will we cope in any European competition then? Even the "nailed on" 4th place that our high pressing game will undoubtedly reward us with at the end of the season (or so the forum guru's will have us believe). Can someone please show me some posts saying we're going to qualify for the Champions League? I have seen this mentioned by the trolls regularly but have never seen it myself.

Even the "nailed on" 4th place that our high pressing game will undoubtedly reward us with at the end of the season (or so the forum guru's will have us believe). 1. We're not going to get 4th. 2. If we somehow did manage it then I'd like to think we'd buy quite a few players so we have more quality in the backup areas.
trousers Posted 7 November, 2013 Posted 7 November, 2013 Can someone please show me some posts saying we're going to qualify for the Champions League? I have seen this mentioned by the trolls regularly but have never seen it myself. Feel free to quote one of my "we'll finish 4th" prediction posts
Glasgow_Saint Posted 7 November, 2013 Author Posted 7 November, 2013 Funny how the ones that don't care about the league cup can quote the last 4-5 winners, but ask them who finished 9th two years ago and they go very quiet. Oh the irony
Tom & Gerry Posted 7 November, 2013 Posted 7 November, 2013 Sad to see the demise of cup football. It seems we now have more chance of finishing in the top 4, and that is small, than ever winning the league cup. Not saying it's right or wrong, just an observation.
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 7 November, 2013 Posted 7 November, 2013 Can someone please show me some posts saying we're going to qualify for the Champions League? I have seen this mentioned by the trolls regularly but have never seen it myself. Doesn't exist. Shocker.

It seems we now have more chance of finishing in the top 4, and that is small, than ever winning the league cup. Not saying it's right or wrong, just an observation. Well yes, we want to finish top 4, everybody knows that, winning the League Cup...not so much, brings too many games in too short a space of time.
Ohio Saint Posted 7 November, 2013 Posted 7 November, 2013 I always want Saints to win everything they play in......But even I am not bothered about this result. Our sights are set higher than this almost-dead competition and our team needs to preserve it's energy for the high pressing league games. Now, if it were the FA cup, I'd be peed off.
Barry Sanchez Posted 7 November, 2013 Posted 7 November, 2013 (edited) I want to win anything, its like selfish little boys wanting the biggest piece of cake, what have arsenal won lately? How big is the trophy for coming 4th? A trophy you never get and we will never achieve that position without huge investment anyway, pointless dreams, lets dream of winning something, why go into the champions league if we can not win it? Edited 7 November, 2013 by Barry Sanchez
Glasgow_Saint Posted 7 November, 2013 Author Posted 7 November, 2013 We are not going to finish top 4 We are now not going to win the league cup Time will tell on the FA Cup We are the new Fulham!! How exciting
Tom & Gerry Posted 7 November, 2013 Posted 7 November, 2013 We don't want to be in the Europa cup so we will not win the FA cup and if we look like qualifying in the league there are plenty of young players we can blood to make sure it doesn't happen.

stevegrant Posted 7 November, 2013 Posted 7 November, 2013 Well yes, we want to finish top 4, everybody knows that, winning the League Cup...not so much, brings too many games in too short a space of time. You do realise that there are the same number of games in the Champions League group stage as in the Europa League group stage?

Barry Sanchez Posted 7 November, 2013 Posted 7 November, 2013 But thats because we dont want to, we want to finish higher up the league, not winning silverare, not going to Wembley, not having our profile raised, not giving the fans amazing memories, not going to sone of best grounds in europe or having amazing football experiences,..........
