Sunderland 2 Saints 1 - Match & Reactions

Was there not a cross on there? Has to hit the target if he's taking the shot.

This.

Sorry but he looks like a £12M flop to me. I've kept my thoughts to myself for over a year on this, in the hope he'll show us he's just a slow developer/adapter...... but sorry, I can't just keep waiting and giving him a chance any more. Maybe if he was an academy prospect aged 17 or something but as a "proper adult" and at that price....... sorry No.

Hmm. Interesting first half I suppose. Some players looking for up for it than others. Sunderland do look the more threatening I would say. Some real purpose and intent in their attacking. We on the other hand look a little ponderous up front at times... A bit like the first XI you could argue. Jay Rod with some direct running going nowhere and Lee pretty bad actually. The ball was bouncing off his heels a lot as he ran and forgot to take the ball. Probably very rusty. Still a very winnable match with this line-up.

Cork and Ramirez looking very good indeed (except the miss by Gaston)

I am not being funny but this is a classic case of wanting something as opposed to reality, he has had at least 3 shots 2 of which have belted against the defender and the shot late on that was harder to miss than to be on target, how is he playing well?

Cork, Hooiveld & Chambers playing well. Chambers best player so far though, not let a single cross come in.

Reed looks decent so far, some good tackles and keeping the passes nice and simple. Odd time he's been overpowered, but given his size and lack of experience in how to overcome such a handicap, that's bound to happen.

Hopefully at some point during the second half we see Lallana on for Lee with Rodriguez shifted up front.

Dont say it, the clappers will hunt you down, they shall inflate their 11ft Gaston doll and set him on you, this is serious.

I think your view on him has long since departed from any sort of objectivity. He's been one of the most involved and dangerous players on the pitch - it was a bad miss though.

Reasonable first half, not looked too troubled. Chambers good, Reed promising. Seem to bit the long diagonal to lthe left wing quite often. Not bad considering we've got our 2ns XI versus their first!

From a purest point of view........ 1 shot on target (Sunderland) in this half.

Poor barely sums it up.

So sorry for those that may have traveled from the south to watch this match (so far).
