Class act, crazy that he's only 18. Hope he stays free of injury, seems to get a lot of niggles.

To his credit at from 17 to 18 playing at LB in the Premier league he is going to get the odd knock here and there.

What a player though. So mature for his age and we forget the likes of Bale and Walcott came through against lower league opposition. The long term replacement for Ashley Cole after Brazil. He'll be better than Baines I reckon.

Absolute top player.

Often it would be the attacking displays that show class of a young full back, but for him it is equally his defending.

I can't recall any wide player that he has been well beaten by? Most of them don't get a sniff against him.

If he stays injury free then he really should get 100+ caps for England and despite hype over Morrison and others, he is by far the best English prospect out there.

8 posts in and no one's dug up an old thread where people are saying he won't be good enough to be a regular Premier League starter.

(If anyone does, then please find the one where I tell everyone how good he is so it makes me look like like I know what I'm talking about for once)

Double barrelled shotgun, castration and a horses head to any clubs remotely interested in Luke. Add the same punishment to any journalists that link him with another club, and fans of other clubs that want him, and I think we have it covered.

Do we want to be a top club? Keep the talent! (This is probably not going to happen, but Clyne, Shaw and Lovren could be our defence for years to come if we can keep them happy with progression.)

The thing that really stands out for me with Luke is his strength for a lad of his age. It would be easy to assume that a 17/18 year old would be out of his depth playing against fully grown and experienced professional footballers. However, he is a big lad and stands up very well to the rigours of Premier League football. At the Stoke game on Saturday I saw him go shoulder to shoulder with N'Zonzi and he came out on top. His consistency for someone so inexperienced is also extremely impressive!

He is in the right place and I hope he is our left back for many years to come.

I watched him in the league cup when he made his debut up at Stevenage. Didn't impress me and he is certainly nowhere near being ready for playing week in week out in the prem. A loan move to the Championship or League 1 is the most likely thing to happen IMO.

I may have said something along these lines at the time. Turned out he was ill, not just crap. And to be fair he had (I think) Seaborne and Richardson alongside him with Butterfield at right back so their decision making may have not been the best. :)

Yea, I think he went into hospital a day or two after the game with a virus? It was mentioned at the time but generally dis regarded.
