Sunderland away (league game) moved for TV

Our away game at Sunderland on Saturday 18th January has been brought forward to a 12:45 kickoff for TV coverage on BT Sport.

 

Glad I hadn't already booked a train up there, almost certainly would have booked one to arrive for 1:30ish!

We're Southampton, I'm surprised all of our games aren't televised in the UK, we must be the most sought after 2nd team to watch..

Going up on the Friday for the weekend, staying in Newcastle. This works out nicely for extra drinking time after the game.

Surely Saints will use soem of the £200K to pay coaches or reduce the price of tickets for this game

Depends how much the tickets are, I guess. Who in their right mind is going to want to get up at 2am to get a coach, whether it's free or not?!

I reckon if we use our 200k at all it might be for the Hull away game on a Tuesday.

 

other clubs are really getting into it, Chelsea have subsidised tickets and travel for a few games, Norwich did free coaches to Man Utd in the cup, and half price tickets for Man City away in the league (bet fans were pleased they didn't pay full price for a 7-0 defeat)

Luckily the trains we had booked aren't affected by the kick off time. Just means less drinking before the game and a lot more afterwards.

Exactly what we are doing. Don't get the 'gang' back together very often these days. We identified this away early doors and decided to spend the weekend in Newcastle. Looking forward to it.
