stevegrant Posted 4 November, 2013 Share Posted 4 November, 2013 Our away game at Sunderland on Saturday 18th January has been brought forward to a 12:45 kickoff for TV coverage on BT Sport. Glad I hadn't already booked a train up there, almost certainly would have booked one to arrive for 1:30ish!
The9 Posted 4 November, 2013 Share Posted 4 November, 2013 Well that's hugely convenient for the fans as usual.
100%Red&White Posted 4 November, 2013 Share Posted 4 November, 2013 Someone's 'avin a right laugh with 'Sunderland away' for Saints fans just now.
CB Fry Posted 4 November, 2013 Share Posted 4 November, 2013 I'd suggest that wasn't one of the "top pick" games Jake Humphrey keeps banging on about on the BT ads.

We're Southampton, I'm surprised all of our games aren't televised in the UK, we must be the most sought after 2nd team to watch..
saint_jas Posted 4 November, 2013 Share Posted 4 November, 2013 (edited) Damn it. Wanted to go to that one, but not sure now I can get up there before kick off. Looking at it, can still get there, but 6am start, yuck. Edited 4 November, 2013 by saint_jas

Give it another 12 months, the Swansea Effect is probably only just kicking in in Thailand.
LGTL Posted 4 November, 2013 Share Posted 4 November, 2013 Going up on the Friday for the weekend, staying in Newcastle. This works out nicely for extra drinking time after the game.
View From The Top Posted 4 November, 2013 Share Posted 4 November, 2013 (edited) We'll be driving up and paying a trip to the Barbour outlet on the way back. Edited 4 November, 2013 by View From The Top

oldsarum Posted 5 November, 2013 Share Posted 5 November, 2013 Surely Saints will use soem of the £200K to pay coaches or reduce the price of tickets for this game Or is that too sensible ?
stevegrant Posted 5 November, 2013 Author Share Posted 5 November, 2013 Depends how much the tickets are, I guess. Who in their right mind is going to want to get up at 2am to get a coach, whether it's free or not?!
JRM Posted 5 November, 2013 Share Posted 5 November, 2013 Would imagine coaches will leave St Marys 5.30am? I reckon if we use our 200k at all it might be for the Hull away game on a Tuesday. other clubs are really getting into it, Chelsea have subsidised tickets and travel for a few games, Norwich did free coaches to Man Utd in the cup, and half price tickets for Man City away in the league (bet fans were pleased they didn't pay full price for a 7-0 defeat)
Griffo Posted 5 November, 2013 Share Posted 5 November, 2013 Luckily the trains we had booked aren't affected by the kick off time. Just means less drinking before the game and a lot more afterwards. Didn't come close to filling the bottom tier allocation there.

Albeit we paid £53 with booking fee and it was on the box - but first match back in the Prem for 7 yeard and we didn't come close to selling out the allocation. Exactly what we are doing. Don't get the 'gang' back together very often these days. We identified this away early doors and decided to spend the weekend in Newcastle. Looking forward to it. Norwich just had the bottom.
