Mr X Posted 3 November, 2013 Posted 3 November, 2013 Some people were saying j rod is just a glorified Brett omerod but I think those comparisons are totally unfair I feel j rod has a good level of ability to back up his amazing work rate and if he just improved his shooting he can do us proud he gets into amazing positions and is always closing down and chasing back
Wiggles31 Posted 3 November, 2013 Posted 3 November, 2013 Agreed. His finishing needs improving but his dribbling ability is brilliant. He is also brilliant at pressing.
Mr X Posted 3 November, 2013 Author Posted 3 November, 2013 Agreed. His finishing needs improving but his dribbling ability is brilliant. He is also brilliant at pressing. Yes particularly good at closing down balls back to the keeper and putting him under pressure
Saint_clark Posted 3 November, 2013 Posted 3 November, 2013 Yes particularly good at closing down balls back to the keeper and putting him under pressure That isn't really a difference between him and Ormerod though, is it?
S-Clarke Posted 3 November, 2013 Posted 3 November, 2013 Jay Rod is in a completely different league to Ormerod, let's be honest. Light years apart in ability. Can't say I've ever seen the compassion, and if there ever was, the person making the comparison was clearly off their rocker.
paulwantsapint Posted 3 November, 2013 Posted 3 November, 2013 I rod could do with a bit extra training in how to get some more power into his shots but then so could the rest of the squad maybe except rickie
Mr X Posted 3 November, 2013 Author Posted 3 November, 2013 I rod could do with a bit extra training in how to get some more power into his shots but then so could the rest of the squad maybe except rickie Perhaps Rickie can teach him how to generate power

aintforever Posted 3 November, 2013 Posted 3 November, 2013 What fool ever compared him to Brett Ormerod?
sentry Posted 3 November, 2013 Posted 3 November, 2013 I liked Ormerod. Nothing wrong with that comparison.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 3 November, 2013 Posted 3 November, 2013 What fool ever compared him to Brett Ormerod? Saint garrett and / or saint charlie is my guess
Saint Charlie Posted 3 November, 2013 Posted 3 November, 2013 Saint garrett and / or saint charlie is my guess I said Brett was better than Lambert, not JR.
Jonnyboy Posted 3 November, 2013 Posted 3 November, 2013 What's wrong with Brett? We had Brett Ormerod.
Saint Garrett Posted 3 November, 2013 Posted 3 November, 2013 Saint garrett and / or saint charlie is my guess Ormerod did a fantastic job for us and probably made Beattie look better than he actually was, but JR is a totally different player. The only comparison is that they both never stop running. Despite that, they're very very different.

Faz Posted 3 November, 2013 Posted 3 November, 2013 Posh Spice is a slapper Her knickers smell of cod And when she's ****ging Beckham She thinks of our JRod Totally fair comparison if you ask me.
skintsaint Posted 3 November, 2013 Posted 3 November, 2013 J-Rod is so frustrating, the amount of times he gets in good positions to only fluff it up is annoying, but 2 goals in 2 games shows he is getting in the right positions. Great energy in his play.
doggface Posted 3 November, 2013 Posted 3 November, 2013 Anyone who compares jrod with Brett is mental.
Bucks Saint Posted 3 November, 2013 Posted 3 November, 2013 Top quality goal yesterday. Not sure Brett could have done that! But loved him all the same
Pugwash Posted 3 November, 2013 Posted 3 November, 2013 Yep. Jrod has a classy tattoo. Brett's got a Maori.
trousers Posted 3 November, 2013 Posted 3 November, 2013 Anyone know what J'Rod's celebration is all about...? Looks a bit rude to me...
Delboy Dave Posted 4 November, 2013 Posted 4 November, 2013 Looks like that game that you play with your mates... Normally that sign has to be made below waist height and if you look at it there is a forefit
david in sweden Posted 4 November, 2013 Posted 4 November, 2013 I wouldn't underestimate the contribution that Brett Ormerod made during his time (as James Beattie's strike partner), and for all the good work he did with assists etc, I don't ever recall any mention of him as a candidate for an England squad place ?....whilst JB was grossly ignored (by England) at a time when he was on top form. Maybe Jay Rod isn't prime England striker material, but his name has been mentioned by a few media names and seeing him on his current form, he has to be a better bet than Welbeck at present. Rickie came in a DAJF England when we had no other options. He's unlikley to ever be first-choice (except in friendlies), but I fear JayRod may miss his chance because of the other options. However, on current form I would rate him..... at least as good as / better than......Ormerod without meaning to denegrate either player.
DT Posted 4 November, 2013 Posted 4 November, 2013 Top quality goal yesterday. Not sure Brett could have done that! But loved him all the same I actually thought he mistimed it and was lucky it looped in. But hey, will deffo take it!
Turkish Posted 4 November, 2013 Posted 4 November, 2013 I actually thought he mistimed it and was lucky it looped in. But hey, will deffo take it! I don't think he did. At first I thought it was a bit lucky but when you see it from the behind the goal you can clearly see he meant to do a powerful downward header, I think it was a great finish personally.

Indeed it was, text-book header on goal. Didn't have to try to steer it left or right from that position and as he'd got well above the ball with his jump he had all the options available. JRod should start every week and let Lambert and Osvaldo compete for the other front runner's place.
Marsdinho Posted 4 November, 2013 Posted 4 November, 2013 Anyone know what J'Rod's celebration is all about...? Looks a bit rude to me... I think he does it so we can add a bit more on to his value when Real Madrid come sniffing.
The9 Posted 4 November, 2013 Posted 4 November, 2013 Some people were saying j rod is just a glorified Brett omerod Who are these people?
The9 Posted 4 November, 2013 Posted 4 November, 2013 Anyone know what J'Rod's celebration is all about...? Looks a bit rude to me... I suspect it's meant to be a number nine, but he hasn't thought it through, it looks different to everyone else.

Window Cleaner Posted 4 November, 2013 Posted 4 November, 2013 Who are these people? probably ones who never actually saw Brett Ormerod or don't remember him well. Talentless workhorse, possessed nowhere near the athletic capacities that JRod does.
