Barry Sanchez Posted 1 November, 2013 Posted 1 November, 2013 Thinking of treating myself, has anyone got one?
Essruu Posted 1 November, 2013 Posted 1 November, 2013 Blimey, is is still the year 2004 where you live?
Barry Sanchez Posted 1 November, 2013 Author Posted 1 November, 2013 No why? What are the fasionable makes worn (sorry laughing) in Southampton?
swannymere Posted 1 November, 2013 Posted 1 November, 2013 It's all about the clobber innit. Stone Island is just boss man.
Barry Sanchez Posted 1 November, 2013 Author Posted 1 November, 2013 It's all about the clobber innit. Stone Island is just boss man. Now thats old school, good stuff but very very old. Even though very different, Belstaff is a notch or two up from Stone Island.
Gemmel Posted 1 November, 2013 Posted 1 November, 2013 Blimey, is is still the year 2004 where you live? Pah - Donned one in 1986 to go with my Suzuki ER 50cc bike - Thought my ship had come in.
Barry Sanchez Posted 1 November, 2013 Author Posted 1 November, 2013 Pah - Donned one in 1986 to go with my Suzuki ER 50cc bike - Thought my ship had come in. Ha ha your jacket was worth twice as much as your hairdryer!
Big Bad Bob Posted 1 November, 2013 Posted 1 November, 2013 Thinking of treating myself, has anyone got one? ..and I thought you were talking about the purple jackets that bell hops wear in hotels....
Sour Mash Posted 1 November, 2013 Posted 1 November, 2013 Excellent jackets, well worth the investment.
View From The Top Posted 1 November, 2013 Posted 1 November, 2013 Overpriced and more than a bit 2010.
buctootim Posted 1 November, 2013 Posted 1 November, 2013 Overpriced and more than a bit 2010. I used to wear one on my bike in 1980...
so22saint Posted 2 November, 2013 Posted 2 November, 2013 get your chops around one of these instead: http://www.barbour.com/uk/l/mens
Barry Sanchez Posted 2 November, 2013 Author Posted 2 November, 2013 Already have the Beaufort classic, good for work, walking dog, local etc etc but not so much for smart casual, do like Barbour so it is a possiblity.
Wes Tender Posted 2 November, 2013 Posted 2 November, 2013 Half of them are made in Romania. Why spend so much for something made in what is virtually a third World country? Admittedly though the Italian stuff they have has a bit more cachet.
Patrick Bateman Posted 2 November, 2013 Posted 2 November, 2013 Hackett or Boss jackets for me, personally - like the fit, love the quality of both. There are loads I could purchase from here; http://www.hackett.com/men/shop-by-product/coats-jackets
Barry Sanchez Posted 2 November, 2013 Author Posted 2 November, 2013 I thought Barbour was made in England and Belstaff in Italy?
manji Posted 8 November, 2013 Posted 8 November, 2013 I love Barbour one Trooper and one Lonsdale for the Summer, plus assorted Baracutas. But last winter I really got into Trad overcoats. I got a Skinhead style genuine Crombie last winter and have just invested in a Austin Reed Camel coat and am planning to get a new Aquascutum Raincoat.
Grey Crab Posted 8 November, 2013 Posted 8 November, 2013 I think you should get one Barry as it would definitely suit you.

Barry Sanchez Posted 9 November, 2013 Author Posted 9 November, 2013 Barbour, poor mans Belstaff. To be fair it depends on what you need it for.
Grey Crab Posted 9 November, 2013 Posted 9 November, 2013 A good shell suit would suit you......................... You think there are "good" shell suits? In your experience, which ones would you say are the good ones?
manji Posted 9 November, 2013 Posted 9 November, 2013 Barbour, poor mans Belstaff. Theres some truth in that but Barbour are still quality and are not cheap and I like them, plus Ive got a couple of Barbours as opposed to one Belstaff.
manji Posted 9 November, 2013 Posted 9 November, 2013 You think there are "good" shell suits? In your experience, which ones would you say are the good ones? I think hes joking...........................................
