Watching the Capital Cup tonight made me think whether it's worth just buying tickets for the ties even if I don't go in the hope it will entitle me to a final ticket should we get there. I did in the JPT and that got me a ticket to Wembley. Has anyone else done this?

As a season ticket holder...... yes. I often miss midweek games purely because I cannot make them but i'm ensured my place for home games, away matches and certain cup fixtures. I doubt this is exactly what you meant though...

Does having a season ticket give you that option though? So far I've been to no away games due to kids & work (although obviously I've been to every home game as a ST holder). had a chat to a mate the other day that my first away game will probably be Fulham and he said that I might not get a couple of tickets for that game as I hadn't been to other away games - really?

I make it to a few away days a year, so it does a bit. Should be ok though mate if you get them as soon as they are on full release.

For the JPT final as well all season tickets holders were certain of a ticket.

Cheers - I got 4 x JPT final tickets but unfortunately only two of us made the final, the other two were taken away in an ambulance outside Wembley before the game kicked off (long story!)

lol - Just a taster, the council settled out of court because the mother in law broke her hip by falling down a huge pot hole just outside the ground. Granted we had been in the pub all morning but she's a tee total so when I picked her up and told her not to be so stupid and it didn't hurt... I kinda had to eat my words when she had to have a hip replacement at the nearest hospital to Wembley...

I did successfully manage to argue that by the time that she was seen in the ED the game might be over - so me and the missus may as well watch the game whilst she and her hubb were off in the ambulance with the blues and twos :D
