Don't like draws when we are still not through, but with the lucky number 7, I'll take it.

I wonder whether an easy/easier draw will change MP's team ahead of next week? If he can see a clear route to Wembley, then may be he will really go for it.

Just can't see Poch putting out a full-strength team and Chelsea's backup players basically form another top Prem starting XI.

But play an under strength side and it'll subvert the player's confidence. I'm confident we will give the fixture it's due.

If that does end up being the case it'll probably open up another place in the league for a Europa spot then as they will all qualify anyway

good point , assuming United climb into the top 5 this would ensure Europa league down to 6th , and if FA Cup place does the same could be 7th - our best chance of qualifying maybe is the league.

Having found myself in a position where with a little effort and inconvenience offset by being, ahem, slightly Sunderlands way next week, and being purely selfish, I hope we give this a go this year and put in a good performance. Chelsea at home isn't too bad and with who is left in it the League Cup has a bit of merit this year.

Its how Mr Cortese sees it as apparently he wasn't too happy with Pardew going after the JPT as he feared it would impede our promotion chase, that said he did admit that the he throughly enjoyed the Final and was glad that we did get there afterall.

But last seasons FA Cup v Chelsea we did just go through the motions of just turning up.

He will put out a team just strong enough to beat the opposition. So players like Gaston, Kelvin, Chambers, JWP and possibly Lee and Fox should all get starts.
