Goalie66 Posted 27 October, 2013 Share Posted 27 October, 2013 (edited) Everyone of us is delighted with how we are performing and yesterdays game, in my opinion, is the start of where we want to be, rather than the peak of the "pressing game". I believe we will improve is in faster movement in the final third and conversion of chances. This will come but I suspect we will more likely start dishing out these hammerings to the so called better sides like we did last year. What impresses me about this side is their ability to learn and improve as a team and there will be improvements. That is what is so exciting. Noodles34 Posted 27 October, 2013 Share Posted 27 October, 2013 I don't recall us hammering better sides last year mate? We might have outplayed one or two, but hammered? Did we score more than three in a match last year? This is whats worrying, expectations. And the above sums it up. We could lose three in a row and we'll be just above West ham in mid table. As for hammering teams, not saying it wont happen, but we saw yesterday how we are going to be, and it wont going gung ho for 4 or 5 goals. Clearly he got them in at HT and told them to keep the ball a lot more because he knew Fulham would have to have a go. I would suspect our second half possession is a lot higher than the first? We could have scored a couple more in the 2nd, but its more important to retain possession and keep a clean sheet, it may not be the most exciting way to play, but certainly effective.... at the moment. Saint Garrett Posted 27 October, 2013 Share Posted 27 October, 2013 I agree. We started the season solid but not great going forward. Seems that we've now been working on the more offensive side of the game, and looks to be paying off! Looked a lot more of a threat going forward yesterday. Well we beat Aston Villa 4-1. last year we did outplay Man City , Liverpool and Chelsea. For those sides to even lose to us was probably unthinkable. The reality was we outplayed those sides. This year we outplayed Liverpool and Unired and got results. I believe that as we improve those 1-0 will become 3-0. We hammered Fulham yesterday but the scoreline really flattered them. Perhaps are expectations have been raised and rightly so. So have the players. They now KNOW they can beat anyone. They also know they can continue to improve individually and collectively. That is what is so exciting
