Truly excellent and professional performance. Built a 2-0 goal cushion then kept the ball, no Hollywood stuff chasing 4 or 5 nil even if we could have scored more.

I can't pick a bad performance. I'd say they were all excellent with the possible exception of Boruc who had bugger all to do for the most part. Even so he had a safe pair of hands and his distribution looked decent.

Fulham for their part were awful. Their strikers looked lazy, the midfield didn't support and their entire team ethic just looked disjointed and lacking any real plan. Berbatov may well be class on his day but I wouldn't want him anywhere near our squad. Just looks like he couldn't give a f**k half the time.

I am now faced with something of an oxymoron. Looking forward to a trip to Stoke.

just got in, absolute professional performance, i have been priveledged to watch some great saints sides over the last 54 years and this lot are forcing their way into that level.

Noticed a few regular posters missing tonight, of course even they would look stupid knocking that display

Great article on the Sky Sports website entitled 'Saints in Style'

Jamie Redknapps thoughts on today, which echoes Gary Neville's thoughts from last week.

Bayern Munich comparisons and the future of the England team

Good result from the sort of game we slip up on.

Reassuring dominant Performance - cant see us going down, and who knows the other way ? Bit disappointing only 2 goals.

No place in the team for The Gash, imo

Questionable for me that Osvaldo is first preference ahead of Rickie; for me Rickie plays for the team more, and Osvaldo more for himself.

How many games was it last season that NC sacked NA. It's hard to fully recall the hysteria, but as much as it was a distasteful way of getting rid of Adkins I doubt many are now arguing with the decision.

My concern is that many massive clubs will be looking up and taking notice of MP and we could be in danger of losing him. I don't know if he has brought his family to settle here,if not it could be a long term concern.

Well done Saints, the media love us again. Not since the 80s can I recall them being so positive about us.

The players deserve the plaudits as well. This is the year when a team from outside the big 4or 5 could really make a challenge as the rest are n flux. Could be Arsenals best chance

First half was out of this world, so solid and good. Second half not so much but still good and did what we needed too. Shaw had a bit of an off day going forward for some reason, and hobbling at the end but everyone else was first rate. Adam great, Vic in the middle won almost every thing that went his way. Could of had 4 by half time. Sometimes we need a little better finishing or agression in the box but thats just me being picky.

I don't log on very often now, I can't bear all the ******** when we lose or the adulation when we win BUT............

Today we were simply superb!!!!!!!

No argument there. Very good indeed today from what I saw of it, which was from just before the second goal. Pure class, and I notice the sky pundits were creaming their pants over us.

Amazing. One of the most convincing Saints matches I can remember - L1 included!

Beforehand this was a potential banana skin for the Pochettino side that plays with high intensity and drills out great results but somehow has a tendency to switch off when we are favorites.

Not today, sir, no. From the kickoff it was apparent that we (cliche alert) wanted it more and we looked really energetic and well organized. Danish commentators were praising us for a full 90 minutes commenting on players, manager, youth players, fans etc. - as someone wrote earlier it was almost embarrassing ;)

Everyone played their part to perfection, MP included. We decided to go for the jugular and kill of the game as quickly as possible, so for the second half we could lower the intensity a bit and save some energy. Even Barca has found out that the high pressing game will wear out players so they play with greater variation under Martino - presumably to keep the players sharp. We've seen the same from the Saints where some games we do not press so ruthlessly or at least so consistently. Today we went full throttle for 45 minutes and reaped the rewards. Afterwards the task was to maintain the lead without burning out. In that respect it was a job done to perfection. After 70-80 minutes players were still fresh enough to chase the ball deep (JWP was immense - that boy can RUN!) and go on mazy runs (JRod and Lallana).

I wanted to say that we've turned a corner today, but really it's just my faith in the team that has. NC, MP and the players will tell you that they have believed all along ;)

30000 Saints fans all suffering from vertigo!!

Jamie Redknapp loves us and wants us to be the backbone of the England team. References to the Leeds v Saints passing nightmare from '73 in the second half and it was us doing the passing !

The media finally giving us some credit after 40 years of abuse. It wont get much better than this so enjoy it whilst it lasts.

Bloody brilliant!!

An imperious performance, as comfortable as we've looked at home in years and years. Fulham didn't offer a great deal....but we didn't allow them to. Our pressure is second to none and there is not a team in this country that plays like us, and teams simply cannot deal with it if we're on our game.

Our passing today was accurate, incisive and positive. The drive and determination shown by the likes of Lallana and Rodriguez summed us up. A British core, working hard together as a team.

It's a joy to watch and we should all make the most of this. As good a saints team I've seen in recent history, we're bloody lucky.

Well that was quite good wan't it! Shame we didn't get a few more goals especially JRods scissor kick or Lallanas run and shot with the outside of the foot. Best thing about the match today was with only a few minutes to go the forward line and midfield were still chasing and denying Fulham any time on the ball. They just couldn't get any time to use the possession that they did get.

We'll have tougher games this season, but the way we are playing we'll win more than we lose.

Fantastic. I am buzzing. That 1st half performance was as good and as dominant as any we saw when were steamrollering through the lower leagues. The stats are just incredible and Fulham are no mugs! The amazing thing is that there is no luck involved. We deserve to be where we are and the dropped points against Sunderland, West Ham & Man U now look clumsy. From the very 1st day of the Saints "Plan" we have been ahead of schedule. I had never dreamed we could come this far so fast.

Great team performance. Lallana & Clyne must now be knocking on the England door.

So...does Osvaldo get back in up front after that?

That's just how good we are without him. He is not good enough for this team end of ! Lambo is twice the player Osvaldo is .... SRL knits the team together, keeps possession passes it off to our players is strong on

Possession and a threat-Osvaldo is - well bloody poor.... This team can really go places if they are not carrying him....

I am with Johnny Boy and Alps on this one; if that was the best team performance many of us have seen in 40 plus years in the first half, then one man stood out for a 10 when the rest had 9 which was SRL he was simply awesome. His celebration in front of us on the Northam said it all to me, he loves this club, the fans and he let his performance do the talking to the manager why he cannot be left out for a mercenary who has not proved himself yet.

Stunning performance. We did that to a number of sides in the Championship season (Middlesbro at home for example), but to do that to a Premier League team and to keep it up for 90 minutes was superb. Great time to be a Saints fan and with all the young players, this team will just get better.

Firstly I can't understand why any 'supporter' takes such negative views against any player

Secondly, I don't understand why the same posters need to keep repeating the same view again and again and again

Jesus pipe down.

First half was outstanding, seriously good. 2nd half a bit frustrating, not helped by fans giving it the 'ole' all the time, we got sloppy and lost a bit of intensity. Should have subbed jwp earlier in the 2nd half, he was excellent in the first half, but tired in the 2nd half and just sat in front of Clyne. Rodriguez had a decent game, Lambert was good, as were Lovren and Wanyama, motm for me was Lallana, outstanding again.
