Batman Posted 26 October, 2013 Share Posted 26 October, 2013 complete and utter dominance. shame we only scored 2 at times, it was too easy. wanyam was very good, as was rodriguez and lambert lallana yet again was my MoM
badgerx16 Posted 26 October, 2013 Share Posted 26 October, 2013 "As one sided a match as I've seen this season" - 'tater's comments sums it up. Wish J-Rods volley had gone in as the performance deserved more goals and he deserved a second.
norwaysaint Posted 26 October, 2013 Share Posted 26 October, 2013 I've questioned JRod's ability before, but he was my MOM, followed by Lallana and Wanyama.

NewYorkSaint Posted 26 October, 2013 Share Posted 26 October, 2013 Absolutely awesome. MoM for me was Lallana. But so many awesome performances. Wanyama, JRod, Rickie, Clyne... Oh my, oh my. This was epic. I was watching on NBC in New York and the commentators were so gushing over Saints it was almost embarrassing. A real belief that they might be seeing the rise of a significant new force in the premier league. After this game, we're going to see a lot... and I mean a LOT of attention. Sheaf Saint Posted 26 October, 2013 Share Posted 26 October, 2013 Without doubt the most one-sided Saints performance I have ever seen. The stats say it all. Fulham aren't a bad side, but we gave them absolutely nothing. We could have played all night and they still wouldn't have got past our rock solid defence. The 'tater on the stream I was watching said that it would be hard to pick a MOTM because you could make an argument for every player in a red shirt, and I'm inclined to agree with him. I can't bring myself to pick one player out of what was such a complete TEAM performance tonight. This is one happy Saints fan right here.
Suhari Posted 26 October, 2013 Share Posted 26 October, 2013 Superb performance. Being ULTRA critical: we should have scored a couple more. But help, a little rest is fine. We look GOOD!

Foxy Posted 26 October, 2013 Share Posted 26 October, 2013 Quite possibly the most one sided top flight win I can remember for us. Outstanding. It'll be interesting to see how we measure up against some of the big guys in the coming weeks.
Bearsy Posted 26 October, 2013 Share Posted 26 October, 2013 Fulham aren't a bad side That was fucking great tho! How is you expect to win game, Fulham, if you can't be bothered to have one shot on target?
Dr. Kucho Posted 26 October, 2013 Share Posted 26 October, 2013 Amazing first half, slowed down in the second as we didnt need to score. Cant decide who is MOTM, thought the whole team played great with special mentions to Lallana, Jrod and Schneiderlin. Now have to wait another week until we play again:(

SNSUN Posted 26 October, 2013 Share Posted 26 October, 2013 Utter, utter dominance. We were class, Fulham were shyte. Perhaps we could have scored more, but that's the only qualm over what was an all-conquering performance. Not one poor performance today, everyone was exceptional. MOTM? God that's a toughy. Lallana bamboozled their defence, JRod was back to virtually his best, Wanyama was dominant and beast-like, and Clyne was everywhere. I'm going to give it to our little 18-year old James Ward-Prowse. Quality set pieces, quality crosses, quality touches (most of the time) and he ran after every ball. He also protected the defence when Clyne bombed forward. What a player we have, and all for next to nothing, unlike Ramirez, who still cannot get a look in.
Chewy Posted 26 October, 2013 Share Posted 26 October, 2013 1st half especially was as good as I've sen us play in at least ten years. Absolutely outstanding. Lallana my vote for mom but the whole team were excellent. Fulham aren't great but we really gave them nothing at all. To do that for 90 minutes against a premier league side is nothing short of remarkable. Well done all.

norwaysaint Posted 26 October, 2013 Share Posted 26 October, 2013 Incredible to be third when we've already played Liverpool and United away. Poor Boruc has been faultless all season, but never gets the chance to stake a claim for MoM. I actually am one of those who rates Ramirez, but I'm not sure that he fits in with such high intensity play. I wouldn't start him over JWP or Davis either. Lovren, once again, also deserves a shout for MoM, but went a bit more unnoticed as it was a day for our attacking players to show off.

DuncanRG Posted 26 October, 2013 Share Posted 26 October, 2013 One of the easiest games we'll have all season, won at a canter. Some great play, especially from Lallana, and Rodriguez almost served up the kind of worldie goal we've yet to see since we got promoted.

Batman Posted 26 October, 2013 Share Posted 26 October, 2013 Martin Jol - if you dont match southampton work rate at St Mary's, you will lose. the only good thing for their POV is that it was only 2-0 lallana caused them too many problems
Northernsaint Posted 26 October, 2013 Share Posted 26 October, 2013 That was top drawer all round. Made a midtable team look like relegation candidates. Demoralized them with the press and but for profligacy it would have been more Boruc 6 not much to do Shaw 7 not his best game but solid enough. Touch a bit off. Fonte 7.5 good defending and positioning Lovren 7.5 tidy as always Clyne 8 always a threat, worked tirelessly creating angles. Wanyama 9 bosses it and retained the ball. Schneiderlin 7.5 tidy enough position. Rodriguez 8 excellent direct running and unlucky finishing wise. Lallana 8.5 great skills and running serious danger all game. Ward-Prowse 8.5 excellent discipline and delivery covered clyne bombing on well. Lambert 8 took goal well looked lively and was involved in most good things. TUS Posted 26 October, 2013 Share Posted 26 October, 2013 I'll admit, I was nervous we would trip ourselves up today (it "felt" like one of those fixture) .... but that was a solid performance. Chelsea and Citeh are playing each other so they can't both go above us, but at least one of them will regardless of the result. Worst case scenario we will drop down to 5th if Spurs beat Hull at Home - which I fully expect them to do.
