Marcus Liebherr Flag

Now I know it's not going to happen but.....Saturday would be a good day to give the fan's flag a run out.

They did say it would get an occasional airing so as it doesn't look like we'll be troubling a sell-out for Fulham's visit and being on TV it could cover some of those red seats behind one of the goals.

I'm a bit surprised the club haven't offered these unsold areas for advertising banners before, prime locations for a spot of exposure for some business or other. Even the Saints Foundation.

Would be good to see the ML flag again though, family permitting, of course.

One of the main problems with having opted for something so big is that when there's a big crowd (i.e. pretty much every PL game), it makes it a logistical (and health and safety) nightmare, even if you just want to do a quick pass over peoples' heads.

At Wembley, the FA have brought in a big England crest flag for pre-match, and there's a team of around 8-10 specially employed stewards to oversee the whole operation, and that flag's tiny in comparison to the Liebherr one.

I've emailed the club asking what's happened to the flag, any future plans etc. Not holding out any great hope on a reply other than the generic fire safety stuff.

Just as well your hopes aren't high, even Justice Mike had problems getting responses from the club about the flag, and it was him that Organised the whole thing. There's no chance we'll see it again at home games and who wants to be responsible for taking it to away games!

I don't think any of us that contributed to the flag anticipated it being too upsetting for the Leibherrs, it's not that it's been chuck away by the club, or that NC is refusing to show it...it's just that i(at the moment) it's an upsetting reminder for the rest of the family.

at the end of the day, it's their relative, so it's their shout.

The thing that angers me a little about this whole thing (and I'm not gonna go into detail so please don't ask) but the family isn't the reason, which makes it all the more disgusting that that's the excuse being used!

Indeed so. Might get more of a definitive answer by writing directly to Katarina.

So not the case that the family didn't like it. More like the people's chairman, good old nick nack, whose name many of you sang didn't like it as it meant the club wasn't about him when that flag was about.

You ungrateful ****. If he was still here we would be playing in homemade Barca kit, nobody would have left ever and we'd be in the Champions League.

The b*stard hid it so well it took Ralph 18 months to find it...

I think we all need to move on. We're doing much better now anyway and by all accounts Cortese has really settled into his new role of running Inter Milan.

Think it poor of Everton to impose their protest on the day of celebrations/remembrance of ML. They should do it on their own turf.

They probably wouldn't have known, to be fair. Saints only announced it last night. But, yep, Everton's protest will unfortunately overshadow proceedings somewhat and not sure why they have chosen an away game. Probably because its live on TV thinking about it...

Basically the jist of the protest is "please stop running our club properly". Utter bellends.

Kenwright is so nasty he's openly admitted he'd sell the club if the right investors came along but he won't sell the club and leave it in the hands of people he isn't sure will drive Everton forward.

He's an absolute monster, he should be locked up :x
