I'd be a socialist so that I always had someone to blame for things that went wrong.

I'd be a banker, rake in huge bonuses for gambling with other people's money, and duck out just before the world wide crash.

Says trousers, who spends his life on SaintsWeb blaming other people for things that went wrong (see above post, re: socialists).

That's quite clever on several levels

If I had my time again I wouldn't change anything. Not because I don't have regrets but because If I changed one thing it would have a knock on effect on the rest of my life and I wouldn't be were I am now the thought of not having my wife and kids in my life is not one I want. Having got that out the way I do wish I had got around to seeing Iron Maiden perform live just once.

Regret is a wasted emotion but I would have bet on United Winning the title in 2013 and Wimbledon the FA Cup in 1988.

Regret, just like any other emotion, is only wasted if you choose to ignore it.

Our emotions are there to serve us. We should learn from them. They're there to make us react, that's the very purpose of emotions! Especially regret.

- Recently had a job interview. Would change a few things I said in that. That said, I haven't had an answer yet so may be alright. Doubt it though.

.

Well there we go. I wouldn't change that as I got the job.

The ideal life I would like my lad to have is play as much sport while he can while he can, learn a language and a martial Art to a very good level. Do a degree, then travel the world, come back after a couple of years and start a career. Run riot with the ladies and have a crack with your mates, then when you hit 30 settle down with a good woman and get the house and family. I did some but not all if this and some of it in the wrong order so if I could have my time again I guess that's how us do it.

I'd have been less nice to start with, and less of a c*nt after that. I'd have a massive list of things i'd change if i really thought about it i reckon.....best not pull too much at that thread

Definitely time to turn in as I agree with everything that Turkish just said nearly. ERK! (although not sure where the martial art comes in - is that linked with the travelling?)

Martial arts are great for self confidence, fitness and patience. You ever met anyone that have trained in one to a good standard they are one of the calmest most decent people you'll meet but also have an aura about them. I've done boxing and Krav Maga in the past and really wish Id started when I was a lot younger.

Fair enuff but I've never done martial arts but a lot of athletics and my wife tells me I'm very annoying because I'm one of the calmest, non-confrontational people she's ever met. That comes from a great upbringing and a respect for the elders tbh. I'm not a walk over though, but martial arts I don't feel I ever needed

Good post.

But they do say be wary of trying to live out the life you wanted through your kids. What if it turns out your lad is gay or hates sport?
