Batman Posted 24 October, 2013 Share Posted 24 October, 2013 - happy with point, OT hard place to get anything from - only really celebrate when we win. we only drew - Felt fans were very happy with 1 point. Felt the pride from the fans, players. Players proud to play for southampton - we try to defend high up the pitch. we know we take lots of risks with this - aim to win the ball as far away from our own goal as possible - working on managing risks as much as possible but we play with risk and players adapting brilliantly - very proud of players on defensive record. its the players that need to take credit, not me - very happy for club, very happy for supporters, very happy for chairman, his vision is coming to fruition. mostly, very happy for the whole city of southampton - have double training sessions depending on players recovery and how many games planned that week - we have a very strict planning process on how we go about training. ensure players are fit physically and mentally. Again, players want this, they want to get better - Fulham recent result does not change how we play them. we always have 100% respect for our opponents. - Fulham are a good side with dangerous players. Feel they are better than their league position suggests - will NOT be an easy game. fulham will make it very hard for us - Only think about winning the next game and getting the players ready for that. Not looking further. This is a very hard league and a very long competition - I always give a lot of value to youth systems. I came out of the best youth academy in argentina (old boys) - When managing Espanyol, used younger players a lot before they were moved on - One of the main reasons I came to southampton was the brilliant academy. Could see the future was always up - Steven Davis to be assessed tomorrow to see if he is fit enough to start - We have good CB's who can do well. only 2 can play and those two are doing very well so they stay with the shirts - Cant speak about Holloway. Wishes him luck for the future.
Shroppie Posted 24 October, 2013 Share Posted 24 October, 2013 Didn't know about Davis. The way he's playing, would be a loss. Guess it would be JWP to replace? And maybe Ricky for JRod. Unless this is Gaston's big (last?) chance.
Saint Charlie Posted 24 October, 2013 Share Posted 24 October, 2013 Some of the questions they ask are awful. As if they haven't thought about it before they go.

Matthew Le God Posted 24 October, 2013 Share Posted 24 October, 2013 looked to be a rigged interview - very dull and i love Saints orientated What do you mean by that? It was just the standard pre-match press conference Saints have before every league or cup game.
doggface Posted 24 October, 2013 Share Posted 24 October, 2013 The Journos rarely ask any interesting questions whatsoever. "so mauricio you have only conceded 3 goals, how do you feel about that" zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

John Boy Saint Posted 24 October, 2013 Share Posted 24 October, 2013 What were you expecting from a prematch interview? Would you rather have you leg bitten off by a badger or your arm ripped off by a grizzly bear? That would keep everyone on their toes!! 1st Programme of the season in the Junior Saints section they asked Big Jos: "which would you prefer to fight?" "A Duck sized Horse? or a Horse Sized Duck?" the printed answer from the Jolly Dutchman: "Duck Sized Horse, because it wouldn't be able to kick me in the Nuts!!". So there are people out there working in media prepared to ask these cutting edge off the wall questions.
