John Boy Saint Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 Youngster have no staying power these days, We are going go get cobblers like this if we keep going like we are. We are seen to be punching above our weight so the parasites will do what they can to pull the rug out from under our feet to test our resilience. I was under the impression that after scoring his first goal and dedicating it to the fans for making him so welcome there was no issue.
SaintBobby Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 He's rubbish. I'd rather have Paul Wotton up front. Sigh.
angelman Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 So Dani to Juve, Gaston to Napoli and Shaw to Man U - are we going to have any players left come the close of the January transfer window?
angelman Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 Might as well add Morgan to that list as well. Arsenal want him supposedly. Surprised no one in for Clyne, Lallana or Fox.
Hedgehog Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 Didn't take long for the unsettling reports to start coming from the press, all the good stuff couldn't last long Build them up and knock them down!
pimpin4rizeal Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 What a totally stupid article. So we make a. 15m record signing striker play him for 7 games and then loan him to juventus ? That sounds likely:)
hypochondriac Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 What a totally stupid article. So we make a. 15m record signing striker play him for 7 games and then loan him to juventus ? That sounds likely:) Why is it stupid? It says juventus are trying to set up a loan deal which they may well be trying to do. If the player is serious about leaving and really doesn't feel he will settle to premiership life then maybe we will consider it if we can bring someone of comparable quality in and not lose out financially. Regardless, I fail to see how the article is stupid.
RonManager Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 He's rubbish. I'd rather have Paul Wotton up front. Sigh. Tough. Argyle have got him, and they ain't selling.

paulwantsapint Posted 22 October, 2013 Posted 22 October, 2013 Have juventus ever heard of a certain Nicola Cortese who will tell them reverse the figures & make it cash up front so £31m

jasoneuelllfanclub Posted 22 October, 2013 Posted 22 October, 2013 Osvaldo has stated he is happy, there is nothing from directly which suggests he is unsettled. John Cross writes Osvaldo claims he is unsettled. The only direct quotes from Osvaldo I have seen are from a story posted on skysports website earlier this month where he states he is happy at Southampton. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11700/8955346/
farawaysaint Posted 22 October, 2013 Posted 22 October, 2013 The forum experts have written him off already as useless, same as "Gashton" These big teams after them obviously aren't aware of just how terrible they are.
Cabrone Posted 22 October, 2013 Posted 22 October, 2013 Struggling to believe this one, if he's unhappy he isn't showing it on the pitch, esp when we score. The club worked its socks off to get him over the summer and I can see why, he's perfect for us - just needs to bed in. The Don won't let him go without a fight. Juve had their chance over the summer and blew it, the only way he'd be going would be if he declared that he wanted out and even then Juve would have to shell out a fair bit of coin for him. He's too valuable to us.
hypochondriac Posted 22 October, 2013 Posted 22 October, 2013 Bing bing bing You found the stupid bit, he's been here seven games! Why is it stupid to report that juventus are looking at a loan bid. Especially if it's true!
hypochondriac Posted 22 October, 2013 Posted 22 October, 2013 The forum experts have written him off already as useless, same as "Gashton" These big teams after them obviously aren't aware of just how terrible they are. Really? We are the names of these posters?
farawaysaint Posted 22 October, 2013 Posted 22 October, 2013 Really? We are the names of these posters? It's a sad sad day when I can no longer make unsubstantiated sweeping generalisations on this forum
hypochondriac Posted 22 October, 2013 Posted 22 October, 2013 It's a sad sad day when I can no longer make unsubstantiated sweeping generalisations on this forum It's just that things get said like that and it becomes forum FACT
Miltonaggro Posted 22 October, 2013 Posted 22 October, 2013 So Dani to Juve, Gaston to Napoli and Shaw to Man U - are we going to have any players left come the close of the January transfer window? I just hope we get enough time in the window to spend the £100 million!...
angelman Posted 22 October, 2013 Posted 22 October, 2013 I am sure that Dani is frustrated by the lack of goals, but any striker would with 1 in 7. But frustration doesn't mean malcontent although headline writers like to embellish things like that. The only thing that I can as to why he might want a move is the World Cup. If he isn't scoring, then he might be dropped from the Italian team. Gaston on the other hand, I can imagine being unhappy as he isn't getting any games at all. I am just waiting for Dani to get his scoring boots on, and then I hope there'll be no holding him back.
John Boy Saint Posted 22 October, 2013 Posted 22 October, 2013 Of course like the World a Championship Chinese whispers that goes on across this forum, he could have said that he misses Italy whilst on the International break in the sense of weather, eating out, ugly people etc. next thing you know it's snowballed into he hates it here and wants away as soon as possible. Ho hum best get use to this nonsense.
Marsdinho Posted 22 October, 2013 Posted 22 October, 2013 Really? We are the names of these posters? Off the top of my head....Alpine always calls Ramirez "Gashton". There are others, just cant be ar5ed to search for them.
hypochondriac Posted 22 October, 2013 Posted 22 October, 2013 Off the top of my head....Alpine always calls Ramirez "Gashton". There are others, just cant be ar5ed to search for them. I was talking about those who have written off osvaldo.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 22 October, 2013 Posted 22 October, 2013 I was talking about those who have written off osvaldo. Nobody has written him off... Some (including me) questioned his poor performance against Man Utd and the normal over reaction means half the board have now written him off.
angelman Posted 22 October, 2013 Posted 22 October, 2013 There might well be an over reaction but maybe they are a tad concerned (like me) about where the goals, what few of them there have been this season, are coming from. 2 goals from open play from our 3 main strikers in 8 games isn't great. I still believe Dani will fire them in (hopefully starting with a few vs Fulham), but it's all compounded by the lack of goals from JRod and RL.
alpine_saint Posted 22 October, 2013 Posted 22 October, 2013 Yep, I readily admit I have written off The Gash. As for Osvaldo, I am undecided but one goal is a poor return so far. I dont know what the problem is where he is related, do we not play the right way ?
shirleysfc Posted 22 October, 2013 Posted 22 October, 2013 Nobody has written him off... Some (including me) questioned his poor performance against Man Utd and the normal over reaction means half the board have now written him off. So you're not calling it early anymore? lol

Mopo/saints are getting alot of praise for the goals against record and everyone seems obssesed with comparing goals against last season (god knows why) No such comparison on goals for though, despite goals scored being down massively and even more alarming is the gap between clear cut chances created + shots on target. This 'new' saints team has alot of qualities, but imagination and threat in the final 3rd is not one of them. Osvaldo has a great scoring record and is scoring for fun for Italy...... Perhaps mopo simply doesnt know how to get the best from him???
angelman Posted 22 October, 2013 Posted 22 October, 2013 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KPwNxGiorKA This was his last for Italy 3 weeks ago. I have faith in him and am sure that he'll get at least one against Fulham.
Barry Sanchez Posted 22 October, 2013 Posted 22 October, 2013 So Dani to Juve, Gaston to Napoli and Shaw to Man U - are we going to have any players left come the close of the January transfer window? The first two can well and truly go and if we get £10 Million a pop each, £5 Million loss, in the scheme of our expensive transfers thats good business for us and Cortese classic transfers.
Saint Garrett Posted 22 October, 2013 Posted 22 October, 2013 The first two can well and truly go and if we get £10 Million a pop each, £5 Million loss, in the scheme of our expensive transfers thats good business for us and Cortese classic transfers. Ah yes that must be why we're in the top 6, how dare Cortese bring in such awful players.

Regardless, I fail to see how the article is stupid. Where has he said that he's failed to settle and wants talks with MP about his future? Sounds like they are still running with the story off the back of his mis-qouted interview he did a couple of weeks back. How many teams break their transfer fee record only to loan the player out 6 months later? It is a stupid article.
Barry Sanchez Posted 22 October, 2013 Posted 22 October, 2013 Ah yes that must be why we're in the top 6, how dare Cortese bring in such awful players. Both expensive signings have really helped us getting there, the Gash especially, how good is he? He plays **** or not at all and still has an impact.
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 22 October, 2013 Posted 22 October, 2013 ANOTHER negative article from the Mirror, after their last one about Dani which was refuted. What have we done to the Mirror to deserve this?
Dellman Posted 22 October, 2013 Posted 22 October, 2013 I expect Juventus and a lot of others do want Osvaldo. But we've got him so they can take a running jump or pay NC a fortune
View From The Top Posted 22 October, 2013 Posted 22 October, 2013 If Juve want him then he'll go. He'd be nuts to turn down the biggest club in Italy.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 22 October, 2013 Posted 22 October, 2013 If Juve want him then he'll go. He'd be nuts to turn down the biggest club in Italy. If there are any truths in this, Osvaldo strikes me as the type that would sulk, moan, strike, or play badly until he gets his own way. His past exploits suggest he's not the most loyal or eager to please his current clubs owners or fans. He may however have met his match in NC, however an unhappy / expensive player is not something we can afford to carry atm, especially with 200k a month Gaston already rotting in the background
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 22 October, 2013 Posted 22 October, 2013 Would be an odd one. I thought he was basically waiting for them to make an offer? Kind of suggests it admits they were unable to do what they wanted over the summer. Can't see us letting him go (on loan/permanently) without a heavy premium. Juve are on the up, and making positive strides for sure, but do they really have that sort of financial muscle? Even if he wants to go, the thought of NC just bending over and saying take him cheap doesn't seem mighty likely to me.
the saint in winchester Posted 22 October, 2013 Posted 22 October, 2013 The point is that having paid £15M for him, we aren't going to loan him out after 8 games, effectively writing him off until anyone buys him. DO would have to declare himself OUT and we would sell him in January. However, that won't happen. He has said he is happy here and hopefully the goals will come. The off-field issues (ex-wife in Argentina with their son) may bring him to that decision at some point but surely not 3 months into the season.

lloydie Posted 22 October, 2013 Posted 22 October, 2013 Why do they want him? They have Tevez, Llorente, Vucinic and Giovinco. Oh and Quagalieria (spelt wrong probably) is still kicking about there. How many spare tyres does that ferrari of an attack need?!

How many spare tyres does that ferrari of an attack need?! if it's anything like a Formula 1 Ferrari it needs a lot of tyres, set of tyres is good for about 50 miles usually, mind you Italian tyres, don't think they make anything at all very robust in Italy.
Nolan Posted 22 October, 2013 Posted 22 October, 2013 Mopo/saints are getting alot of praise for the goals against record and everyone seems obssesed with comparing goals against last season (god knows why) Because we have conceded the second fewest in Europe compared to 'a lot' last season? No such comparison on goals for though, despite goals scored being down massively and even more alarming is the gap between clear cut chances created + shots on target. mainly because if you score more than you concede you'll generally be okay. Also Spurs have currently 'only' scored the same amount as us. This 'new' saints team has alot of qualities, but imagination and threat in the final 3rd is not one of them. Which really doesn't matter as long as you on average concede less than you score Osvaldo has a great scoring record and is scoring for fun for Italy...... Perhaps mopo simply doesnt know how to get the best from him??? or perhaps, as Osvaldo has stated himself, with his mouth, he is only getting up to full match fitness in a league that is a lot faster than the Italian league?
