Latvian Michael Owen Posted 20 October, 2013 Posted 20 October, 2013 Couldn't help feeling yesterday that United are very average apart from Rooney & RVP. Where would Saints and United sit in the league if we had those two and they had Lambert and Osvaldo? I'd say we'd be in the Top 4 and they'd be mid table.
Saint dyer Posted 20 October, 2013 Posted 20 October, 2013 I don't think I would swap our back four or our midfield for theirs..... cant believe Im saying this
paulwantsapint Posted 20 October, 2013 Posted 20 October, 2013 So basically as it stands a the moment
Latvian Michael Owen Posted 20 October, 2013 Author Posted 20 October, 2013 Well yeah, but I think even the most ardent Saints fan would agree that it probably won't look like this at the end of the season.
LostBoys Posted 20 October, 2013 Posted 20 October, 2013 According to their fanzines they will be after a number of our players - Shaw for Evra Clyne for the funny little brazilian diver Scheneiderlin for the ffing useless Carrick or even for ffing useless Cleverley Wanyama for ffing useless Fellaini Lallana for bambi Welbeck or diver Nani and now Lovren for any of their central defenders apart from Vidic. Love it
Special K Posted 20 October, 2013 Posted 20 October, 2013 Goes to show how good a manager SAF was. Able to get some very good performances out of some average players, which let his very good players do their stuff to win games. And pretty much every week too. I had a little look on some of their forums. Lovely to see some are pant-p!ssingly OTT at their "plight" and have written off Moyes already. It will be interesting to see how they fare in the CL and the PL with diminishing confidence and an increasingly tetchy fanbase.

Cabrone Posted 20 October, 2013 Posted 20 October, 2013 I think their post Fergie aura is rapidly evaporating and other teams are looking at them prepared to go to their ground and give them a going over. The big boys don't like it when you put it up them as Saints are showing. They play Arsenal in 3 weeks at Old Trafford and based on current form they could get a right spanking. That would be funny. Also hilarious reading their spoilt fans and their divine right to beat teams like Saints. Fergie isn't going to save you anymore.
John Boy Saint Posted 20 October, 2013 Posted 20 October, 2013 I have a customer, and friend, who when he was a nipper was on the books initially at Bristol City then was picked up by Villa, he recalls playing against Shearer and the Wallace's at academy level, sadly he dropped what some would consider a minor clanger at Villa and was shown the door to the end of his football career. Even though the years have passed watching football with him is an education as he will point out various things the average Footie fan just would not see. He is also a Man United fan, and noticed the disciplined system that Fergie had in place in so much that if everyone does what job Fergie had told them to do that even he could score for Man U in his 40s. He could point out players that would be dropped for not adhering to the system and those new players who hadn't quite got the system into their game, so would be only used from the bench if at all, he always backed it up by pointing out that academy products would invariably slot into the first team on their debut and look very comfortable straight away. I saw him on Friday and he said straight away the Moyes hasn't quite worked out how to tighten up the system which has had the tension loosened on it, he isn't far away from unlocking the door but he could take a little time to find the right door with the tightening mechanism behind it.
Barry the Badger Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 Yeah I've got friends who played football to a slightly better than average standard who now talk a load of old ******** like they're Jose Mourinho, too.

I would say the same, Trouble is the majority of his observations are pretty much spot on, backed up by his winnings down the bookies, not talking about a flutter here and there, serious money, providing a primary income more often than not.
david in sweden Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 Yes Fergie has gone - and regrets it.. (according to his latest autobiography). The King is dead ....but help ....the new King needs an oxygen tank.....
