KelvinsRightGlove Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 So Ramsay has a good game in the Champions League and this elevates Arsenal to the top of the League, interesting. That quite plainly isn't what I was saying. I was saying that he had already started to show an upturn in form, prior to the arrival of Ozil.
Wes Tender Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 RVW was all set to take the league by storm! RVW zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Batman Posted 21 October, 2013 Author Posted 21 October, 2013 Not too sure what this has to do with this discussion? You were using Norwich as our bench mark
dellboypete Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 Yeah. The holding tough tacking midfielder that allows their flair players to play. Rather than having Ramsey sat there he has been set free This is also the prime reason why we are doing so well this season (and the 2nd half of last) - Morgan plays a very similar role and this has let Lallana play in a much freer role, especially since Wanyama arrived.
Barry Sanchez Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 You were using Norwich as our bench mark I was not using it as a benchmark, I was saying they have signed some good players like Van Wolfswinkel, he is a good player and by all accoutns showing a bit of effort, Osvaldo looks like a stoned Johnny Depp......................
Glasgow_Saint Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 I was not using it as a benchmark, I was saying they have signed some good players like Van Wolfswinkel, he is a good player and by all accoutns showing a bit of effort, Osvaldo looks like a stoned Johnny Depp...................... Lol

Ah right, so the lazy South American tag comes out again. How original Barry.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 Ah right, so the lazy South American tag comes out again. How original Barry. Thats lazy Kelvin. Poor show
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 Thats lazy Kelvin. Poor show Guly = Lazy Gaston = Lazy Osvaldo = Lazy Seems like there is a pattern here.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 Guly = Lazy Gaston = Lazy Osvaldo = Lazy Seems like there is a pattern here. Who said Guly was lazy?
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 Who said Guly was lazy? Plenty on here. It's the go to criticism in lack of any real insights.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 Plenty on here. It's the go to criticism in lack of any real insights. Do you think they are lazy?
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 It's funny he is now a "run a lot, but isn't very good type player". I'd imagine you probably were one, but then contradicted it a month or so later.
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 Do you think they are lazy? I think they are lacking in imagination, and any real insights into what goes on on the pitch.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 I think they are lacking in imagination, and any real insights into what goes on on the pitch. Thats maybe worse than "lazy"?
Glasgow_Saint Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 Guly = Lazy Gaston = Lazy Osvaldo = Lazy Seems like there is a pattern here. Just looked and amazingly Guly hasnt scored a competitive goal for nearly 2 years..... You might have a point. Also in light of the below do you think £45million + could have been better spent than on Gaston and Osvaldo? http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?47250-A-New-Charge-Against-Southampton-Football-Club
Dig Dig Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 I was not using it as a benchmark, I was saying they have signed some good players like Van Wolfswinkel, he is a good player and by all accoutns showing a bit of effort, Osvaldo looks like a stoned Johnny Depp...................... Lowest number of touches of any forward in the prem based on number of minutes played.....yet he is a good player and showing a bit of effort and Osvaldo isn't? Take your yellow tinted glasses off Bazza

No mention of it on that thread. Utter nonsense, as usual.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 Where on earth have you got £45m on a player that cost £12m & a player that cost £15m? No mention of it on that thread. Utter nonsense, as usual. Gaston cost £12m and Osvaldo £15 12 + 15 = 27 Wages: Gaston circa £10 million over 4 years (lower estimate) Osvaldo circa £10 million over 4 years ( again lower estimate ) 10 + 10 = 20 Finally 27 + 20 = £47 million!! Dont worry i was shocked too

Dont worry i was shocked too I wonder why I said people get too hung up on fees. Yeah, Ramirez has worked out as planned. Don't think it has been as bad as some people want to make out. Osvaldo, far too early to tell either way just yet.
Wes Tender Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 Barry Sanchez: Van Wolfswinkel is an amazing signing, could be the buy of the season, Hooper not too shabby and Quagliarella an unknown, certainly better than our premium signings. Wanyama is good mind but not a superstar signing, for us to get into Europe we need another quality striker bare minimum, Norwich have got one at least assured. where are our signings? Cortese better be prepared to spend on a striker or we shall suffer. Van Wolfswinkel, Hooper and now Quagliarella, good good signings, are they going for a top 4 spot instead of us?

Glasgow_Saint Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 Barry Sanchez:  In fairness far too early to judge if Norwich signings have been a success or not
Glasgow_Saint Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 Have you added in bonuses, insurance, translation costs, food and clothing etc. Figure could be close to £100M?? Just doing the modest basics hurt enough. To think Gaston gets £200k a month (minimum) ouch
Wes Tender Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 In fairness far too early to judge if Norwich signings have been a success or not Barry felt fully qualified to express an opinion on what world-beaters they would be before they had even kicked a ball in anger in the Premiership this season, so I feel quite measured commenting after 8 matches. But of course you're right and I'm always one to say the same thing. That applies also to our three new signings, although Lovren and to a lesser extent Wanyama have already been lauded as great signings and the jury is still out on Oswaldo and indeed on Ramirez from the last window.
Chewy Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 In fairness, Norwich did beat us. Come the end of the season I expect they'll be vying for Europe and we will be stuttering over the 40 point mark as usual ...
Barry Sanchez Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 Barry Sanchez:  Wesley, hence the question mark, how much have our signings cost and how good have they been? Thats my point. for us to get into Europe we need another quality striker bare minimum, You must work for the Mail or some Murdoch paper.
shirleysfc Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 In fairness far too early to judge if Norwich signings have been a success or not But early enough to write our players off yeah?
Batman Posted 21 October, 2013 Author Posted 21 October, 2013 Bazza. Why are we so far above Norwich. When they were signing such quality As for ozil being the reason why arsenal are doing well. He must have helped them last season as arsenal have won 20 from the last 24, losing just once in that
Smirking_Saint Posted 21 October, 2013 Posted 21 October, 2013 Dune and glasgow have had a good days fishing
