Rasiak's second goal at Derby in the play off semi. The whole stand seemed to be moving under my feet.

This was a standout.

Another was De Ridder coming off the bench for the (undeserved) equaliser up at Reading in the Championship, it went fookin mental around us.

Two for us old ones not already mentioned

Paine against Charlton in 66 at the Dell

Moran at Fratton

Final thought two others

Terry Curran against Leeds at THe Dell in 1978 League Cup Semi

Barry Horne against Bolton

Ya....the Rasiak goal to take it to extra time in the playoffs at Derby. That was a roller coaster game... Filled the away end and we played our b0llocks off (think Bale was injured for the game) ... Last minute winner (kind of) and I've never seen or heard such a noise.

Never seen a good YouTube of it either... Unless anyone can find it...

When Sharp scored against the Skates to put us 2-1 up. A real 1966 moment as the ref consulted the linesman. Went bat****.

those goals against that game were two of the best goals each player will have ever scored too.

ffs

Terry Curran against Leeds what a celebration, it was mental under the West Stand Archers end.

Steve Moran v Skates 1984.

Neil Ruddock's last minute penalty v Newcastle c 1988.

Gilchrist v Palace 1976 - the dream was on

Peach v Palace 1976 - the dream was nearly there

Stokes 1976 - the dream was complete

Been involved in a few over the years but Millwall the other season would be right up there as would Lambert at City last year.

Don't think anything can touch Moran at Fratton though.

If we'd scored a 3rd at City that day I'm not sure I'd still be here. Celebrating Lambert's goal took more out of me and had my heart pumping more than a decent bike ride.

All above are worthy of mention

For us older boys, Dave Burnside's equaliser v Forest in 1963 (FA Cup 6th Rd replay)

Mid table 2nd Division Saints 3-0 down at home to high flying 1st Division Nottm Forest with 12 mins to

The old Dell went mental at a time when the crowds were much more genteel

We went onto murder Forest 5-0 in the 2nd replay at White Hart Lane

Around 42,000 there almost all of whom had travelled up from Southampton and a lot didn't arrive until half time

Le Tissier Saints Vs. Arsenal Last game at the Dell - The loudest and longest celebration i've experienced.

Marsden Saints Vs. Wolves 2003 FA Cup Quarter Final, was in the Kingsland Stand as my seat in Block 42 was given to the Wolves fans, first and only time i've felt the stand shake at SMS.

Brighton away, last minute Fonte winner. Went from the back of that stand to the front within seconds, over seats and people, ended up on my arse. Our end went absolutely mental. They showed the highlights in the concourse at Old Trafford yesterday, can easily spot myself when the players run over. Good times.

Yesterday's celebration was decent, it seemed to go on forever. We deserved it.

A neil ruddock penalty v newcastle to end a 20 match run without a win deserves a mention, the lower east terracing was wild, wild i tell you ffs!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, as I posted above.

It was a significant turning point, not only after the 20 game winless run, but also put some distance between us and Newcastle who I think were relegated at the end of the season.

I remember seeing some people crying with joy after that goal, Ruddock's brief icon status started at that point also.

was one of the best I have been to and seen in years, in fact I have to go back to 97 away at Forest for a better bounce, what's your best and favourite recollection of a Saints goal?

At Withdean for the 2-1 win against Brighton having been behind with 10 minutes to go and them time-wasting from the kick off, Fonte off over the barriers, across the track, past the high jump area and up to the away fans, traversing the mile or so to the distant away end on pure adrenaline with the rest of the team trailing behind.

Bale and Kenwyne Jones both injured in the first leg, a cynic would say Billy Davies' team were told to kick them to ensure they'd be missing for the second leg. I didn't see anyone leaving the boot in on Pele in that match, for instance.

Missed that sorry

Who had a ' Do the ruddock stomp' t-shirt then?

In my view though fratton 84 just has never been beaten.

Was a top bounce in the away end yesterday when the goal went in. Ended up half way down the stand by the time it had finished!

Was up there with Higginbotham at Palace in 05 and Rasiak / Viafara against Derby in the play offs.

Moran 1984 cup game v the kiddy fiddlers

I was actually bashed on the shoulder during this one and told to calm down by an older woman behind me as I wasjumping all over her feet on that crap terrace.

Posted (edited)

Yesterday made my top 3.

Lambert against the Skates at SMS and Fonte at Brighton.

Barnard at Yeovil on the terrace was pretty good too.
