Is it? All the rumours linking us to wingers/inside forwards with pace would suggest otherwise.

Some pace would make us infinitely stronger and less one-dimensional and, in no way, would be in conflict with 'our' style.

It is our style as it's what we play every week. It's why we let punchers go. It's what keeps us into 4th

on the other games

after watching swansea 2 weeks ago. absolutely no surprise they hammered sunderland.

they are a very good side

another good thing is that fulham will have 48 hours less rest than us

Even with a weakened cup team, I would hope we batter Sunderland in a couple of weeks! I actually think the Fulham game is actually more important. Today was a gimme, if we lost no-one really would bat an eyelid. If we can win games against the likes of Fulham consistently, Europe will be a realistic target

Dropping Lambert was a mistake. Rodriguez obviously picked for his performance V Swansea - but FFS, he played well because he was playing as a striker! We need to accept the fact that he just isn't going to be consistently effective playing anywhere other than up front.

What I don't understand is that we play 4-4-2 with Lambert and Osvaldo playing, but switch to one up top when Rodriguez replaces one of them?

It needs to be 2 from those 3 playing up front from now on.

right. ok

What's wrong with that exactly? Rodriguez was ineffective today (I can't actually remember him doing anything of note all game long) and has been like that 90% of the time he's played as one of the 3 behind the striker. Ward-Prowse came on and was an immediate threat with his crossing.

When playing up front he has looked brilliant, linking up well, winning headers for knock downs and causing huge problems for defences.

Match of the day coverage was shocking. We had more possession, more shots and more shots on target. Match coverage said Rooney was onside :mcinnes: only shearer stood up for us in post match :mcinnes: BBC made it look like an all united seige.

Thank god for sky's coverage. BBC are a joke.

He stretches teams which is crucial to counter-attacking away from home and stopping teams squeezing us. If we had another player with his pace/directness, we would be much less reliant on him. But as it is he offers something important, even if his performances have been sub-par.

The bloke compiling the MotD highlights was obviously a Man Utd fan...

Undoubtedly. Commentator was as well. Utterly ridiculous that they can show every manure attack with them apparently dominating possession and chances, only one Saints attack and then flag up the stats that show totally the opposite.

At least they showed a decent analysis afterwards.

BBC showing a well balanced review of the game there then. Must have shown all united efforts on target, showed Osvaldo's effort Clynes shot & our goal & then as the ball went in the commentator said we'd stolen a point.

Fair play the BBC post match analysis focused on us and our strengths rather than fodder for a critique of United's flaws.

just watched it - we were lucky there, Utd appeared to have 90% of the ball and could have scored about ten, whereas we only got into their half twice and 'stole a point'.

Anyone who went up must have been really disappointed to see us so comprehensively outplayed by a rampant Utd - we barely got a touch of the ball.

I disagree. Man Utd look far from potential champions and they actually DO have them up front!

That is because they do not have our defence or midfield. :D

I agree that United were there for the taking today but mark my words they will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season.

Thought Davis was superb again today as was JWP when he came on, for those saying Cork is a better player than Wanyama, that game summed up why he isnt. Wanyama won everything in the middle of the pitch today

Just like Cork did when we stuffed them in the second half up there last season?

Watched the whole game with the Brisbane Saints in the small hours in a pub. We were terrific. Fully deserved the point. Wanyama and Osvaldo will both improve. Ref had a shocker again. Rooney offside, Fellaini not booked for either of two lunges, and 5 minutes stoppage time? **** off. Although Lallana, Lovren and Morgan were the best players on the day, I thought Davis was immense in the first half.

Except that most of the footage in the analysis didn't appear in the highlights.

Which sort of makes sense, that way they get to show more overall action. I believe that the broadcast contract only allows a certain amount of "highlights" content to be broadcast but there's no limit on what can be considered analysis. Though I still think the highlights were a tad unrepresentative, and the commentary was biased beyond belief and utter nonsense in places.

I don't usually complain about highlights, but what was that about? Highlights made us look horrific. At least Shearer commented on a deserved point.

Is not MOTD now produced in the "Media City" based in Manchester?

I would expect the employees to now be mostly Manc's

some editorial decisions being made by them of course they will make the Northern teams look better.

The same BBC that spent £24m in relocation packages for hundreds and hundreds of (southern based) staff to get them to move to Salford?

But yeah, it's just like the Rover's Return in the MOTD office....

These would be the southern based northerners that had been pinching our jobs and now wanted a free move back north?
