SO16_Saint Posted 18 October, 2013 Posted 18 October, 2013 I've just had my 60 plate Vauxhall Insignia MOT'd for the first time. It's passed, but has an advisory on the rear brake pads and discs - 90% worn. Would anyone know how much this should cost, and be able to recommend a good mechanic to replace these?
ecuk268 Posted 18 October, 2013 Posted 18 October, 2013 Have you considered doing it yourself? Disk pads are usually a doddle to change. Otherwise, Pete King in Salem Street will do a good job at a reasonable price (he's also a Saints season-ticket holder).
hutch Posted 18 October, 2013 Posted 18 October, 2013 He said pads and discs. If the discs are worn he probably needs to get a pro to do it.

egg Posted 5 November, 2013 Posted 5 November, 2013 Price the parts on euro car parts and allow 25% discount for readily available discount codes. Labour should be half an hour per side, so £40 or so.
Northernsaint Posted 9 December, 2013 Posted 9 December, 2013 Please advise where the 20% codes are...
