RIP Pat Fleet

Pat was a very long time fan. He used to tell me stories about being in Wembley for the 76 cup final and the subsequent celebrations all over town. He is the one who introduced me to Saints. His brother Jack was the stadium announcer in the Dell at the time. But above all he was a great human being. The world was better place when you were in it Pat.

Really Sad to read this , I was at school with Pat and played football with him and his brother Jack in my early years. Also remember his dad getting us the American Comics , Superman , Bugs Bunny etc when he was on the liners. Good Family

RIP Pat.

Pat Fleet was my brother's father in law. I can honestly say he was one of the most decent, honest blokes you could ever meet but above all he was a friend who helped me through some very tough times in the past. A life long saints supporter who yearned for the days back at the Dell. Rest in peace Patrick, my friend.

A truly wonderful bloke and a friend/colleague of my dads for probably best part of 40 years at AC Delcos as they both worked in the wages/finance dept down at Delcos. Dad's quite cut up about it after hearing last night from another old colleague. There was a little group of 5/6 of them who were there for 40 years in the finance team and all mad Saints fans.

Worked with Pat when I got my first job down there and saw first hand what a larger than life character he was. Some great stories about Saints and life in general. Still have a Norwich away programme he gave me with the entire squad's and back room teams signatures from the 80s after he travelled back on the same train with them.

A real treasure, a true Saint who will be missed by many.

cheers Pat

I am so sad to read of Pats death. I only saw, from a distance, his brother Jack a couple of days ago. I have known Pat since I was in my early teens from our days and nights at Northam Boys Club. We went on holiday to Ireland when we were possibly 17 together. Pat was the most lovely man with a great sense of humour and he was a great friend to have. Sadly, we had not seen each other for some time.

I would be most grateful if anyone would give me details of the funeral arrangements, please.

RIP, a most lovely friend.

Well Pat, you had some send off! Standing room only, lots of people in Saints shirts, scarves.hats and large banners. Many friends from Banister Bowling Club there, several of us ex Northam Boys Club as well as many friends. His brother Jacks words about Pats life made us chuckle. Lovely and funny words from his son in law as well.

I met an 'old' pal (Denny) there and we had a good laugh afterwards about the Dublin trip we enjoyed with Pat in the early 60's.

By the large number there, Pat touched many peoples lives!

Very difficult, but also a very warming day. As you say, a lovely send off for a big man in so many ways, and someone who had made many people smile over the years.

He went out to a recording of the Saints crowd singing Oh When The Saints Go Marching In!!!! Wonderful x

I closed my eyes at one point and thought Jack Fleet was going to announce the teams at The Dell, such was the link between his voice and the old ground. Jack mentioned that Pat is in the background of a photo that graces "In That Number". Can't remember the page, but will have a gander tonight when I raise my glass to the dear man.

RIP Jack

Sorry Jack, the day must have got to me as well!!!!

Can't see how I can edit my post (mind you as with the Old Rugged Cross, I'm sure someone will be chuckling at my faux pas!!!!).

Sorry um, I must confess I did have a good laugh. I bet Pat would as well!
