I guess this somewhat dilutes the "Pearson wasn't kept on for financial reasons" argument?

And have the club told us officially about Webster yet and why was he put on gardening leave?

Would the groundsman ever get sent on gardening leave? or is that defeating the object?

So that's Gore, Pulis, Robertson, Pekhart, Smith, Forecast and Gasmi instead of John, Saga or Rasiak.

Which spanner thought that was a good idea. Oh wait, I think I can guess...

Its a decision that will result in us not being in this league next year imo

So, welcome Dean, thanks for working for free to help us recently and accepting low wages. Apologies if the fans moan about you straight away.

As far as I can see, no-one has made any comments about him personally at all.

No Jan, you've got it all wrong. Johann Cruyff actually scored some goals as well. Still, good that he's joined as Wotte's - I mean Jan's - assistant.

God we were crap last night.

He's been on the touch lines for the last 3-4 games, and in training sessions for the last 3-4 weeks.

Would need proof of the wages before commenting.

I'm not convinced that first group come to much over 5k a week. And short contracts for some, few loans etc. Robertson meant dyer going, whose wages are likely to be larger.

The latter groups wages probably reach 25k a week.

You forgot agents fees, loan fees have to be factored in as well for all of those...no-one is suggesting we kept all 3 just Stern would of done.

I have polished my crystal ball and Gorre is Jan's replacement when Wotte takes over next week after the Burnley defeats mutual consent departure ;-)

I think it shows that Lowe is holding his nerve and the style of football we have been seeing this season will continue.

Just hope he can teach the players to go forward more and take their chances. We are obviously creating them as we have had 157 on target before last night. That is an average of 7.5 a game and McGoldrick leads the division with 36 on target.

We have only scored 19 of those! That is a 12% on target conversion. If you add the off target of 136 that is a down to 6.5% chance is converted.

Hot news - Simon Clifford seen at Staplewood this morning.

Jason St Juste coming in as left back? He fits the criteria!

PS edit.... ;-) just for those that thought I was serious

What is annoying is that we know we are creating the chances and many of us believe we are not far away from giving someone a proper hammering but it all goes to pot when the sky cameras are on us. I dread to think what will happen against Man Ure in a matter of weeks.

On the other hand the latter 3 are all able to score goals, which in turn changes draws into wins and defeats into draws, so lets say one of them cost 8k (and I 'm not sure I believe your maths), an increase in 1000 through the gates (modest, since a few wins would probably bring back 2-3k) would more than pay for at least one of them to be here. sadly the plank is unable to see things that way.

Actually I have just realised that is not remotely funny and in case some on here believe it I had better confess to making it up. Apologies to all on this forum - sometimes irony and gallows humour have no place on a football forum.

...and as importantly push us up the league. Unfortunately that logic is not acceptable to some I'm afraid.

Another rabbit for the headlights then.

Pearson more expensive than Portvliet,Wotte and Gorre...yeah right..

More pretty but in effective football ahead it seems.

When will some one at the club realise this super duper over playing will

not bring enough points in this league?

I'm sorry, but Rupert doesn't get away with it that easily. Getting through to his 3rd coach since returning shows a lack of judgement. He should do the decent thing and leave.

Woggy could run the club better than him.

The Man ure game is on setanta not sky so it won't be the sky jinx ;) I see where you're coming from though.

I know. Someone posted that he thought JP would leave after the Burnely game. Mine was just a reply to a hypothetical scenario. If he appointed Wotte then that would be is 3rd coach after JP and Pearson.

Do keep up.

Good to see that Gorre has been dedicated enough to work on a non-contract basis thus far!

Also might be a useful addition as he has experience of the lower divisions.

Welcome aboard Dean!

unless someone gives our defenders and midfield players upper body strength ' date=' we can have as many coaches as we like someone like Kugi will still tear us apart[/quote']

Nail on the head mike.

I fear this will be the case but there will still be a lot of teams we can beat,(like Reading)I hope.

Almost ****ed myself when i read the bit about sharing football in the tradition of Johan Cruyff. More like Crufts..

This whole going Dutch has not worked and by adding more and more dutch coaches won't make an ounce of difference to anything other then our bank balance.

How long until we change our shirt colours to orange?

wasn't jan on about 70k a year at his last club and is probably on about 100k now, the threeof them are on probably 300k between them and pearson was getting 400k, so the club are getting three coaches (i reckon) cheaper than before.

also would pearson have been able to work with the kids and no stars as he'd have had to?

doubt it personally.

Oh i'm keeping up. You posted in the present tense. That doesn't really work.

All this 'Johann Cruyff' , 'Dutch', nonsense is starting to get very tiresome.

And you can't even blame the twaat who writes the usual rubbish on the OS as that came straight from Jan's mouth.

Please spare us the references to Total Football, the Dutch way, attacking & exciting football, Cruyff, etc etc etc and just start delivering as I'm beginning to find it all a tiny bit patronising.

OK, where did that salary figure for Pearson come from? I don't follow things as closely as I used to, but is that a complete guess or do you have something to substantiate that figure with?

As for the 'three for the price of one' philosophy, that is Lowe through and through. Why get one decent player/manager when you can have three average ones? That is one of the main policies that got us in this situation with carrying a bloated squad of very average players instead of investing in fewer players of better quality and paying them a decent wage. Seems like someone never learns.

If you actually read all of it you would have known.

Very sorry if my posts don't sit too well with you.

To be honest I stopped getting in a 'tizz' about Saints some time ago. Too many people on this messageboard seem to be doing PR for Rupert. Can't really be bothered with it all anymore.

Bye.

HANG ON JUST A F***ING MINUTE!!!

So this new coach started working for free just after the Reading game. And it improved us?!? RIIIIIGHT!!!!

And now he's been given a full contract. For crying out loud, the management of the club in terms of managerial/coaching appointments takes a new plunge downwards - you just could not make this sh*t up!

Incidentally - did anyone notice Lowe, Gorre and JP talking on the pitch before the game started? It was quite clear to me that Lowe was talking to Gorre and blanking JP - I think JP's number is up in the not too distant future...seems he's out of Lowe's favour.

Posted (edited)

Lowe was staying out of Simon Jordons way, anyone remember what Jordon said about Lowe in the past ?

( this should be on the other thread )
