Viking Warrior Posted 16 October, 2013 Share Posted 16 October, 2013 Is Rickie Lamberts England Career now over. Carroll will be fit soon? and hodgson is an idiot, If SRL had started he would have buried a number of the first half chances that were created

Window Cleaner Posted 16 October, 2013 Share Posted 16 October, 2013 It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if Rickie never gets picked for England again. depends what the build up programme is, I suppose there must be another IB next month when the barrages take place so there will be friendlies as well. Depends what Rickie does for us as well I don't doubt. Scoring against Utd could well set him up for another game or two.

Window Cleaner Posted 16 October, 2013 Share Posted 16 October, 2013 Supposed friendlies against Germany and Argentina I read somewhere last night... Lambert might get called up again, depends on the status of the others and whether Walcott is fit at any time soon. Still with Utd,Arsenal,City getting into their CL campaigns there could be a lot of dropping out.Don't think the players will be wanting to be pulled out unneccessarily though cos the places for Rio are going to be disputed, that said players like Rooney and Sturridge will already be on the team sheet for Brazil so they probably won't care much.. notnowcato Posted 16 October, 2013 Share Posted 16 October, 2013 I know it's early days for Sturridge but he hasn't overly impressed me in an England shirt, there are semblances of a relationship developing with Rooney though.
Saint Garrett Posted 16 October, 2013 Share Posted 16 October, 2013 He seemed to be the player he was at Chelsea last night rather than the one who has been fantastic for Liverpool. He played like he was the only one on the pitch, just wanted to shoot all the time, and only had one foot. He's still young and he's clearly a very talented player, but he's been much more of a team player for Liverpool than he ever was at Chelsea. Hopefully he pushes on though, and he is in form for the World Cup in the summer. Don't get me started on Welbeck though
norwaysaint Posted 16 October, 2013 Share Posted 16 October, 2013 I know it's early days for Sturridge but he hasn't overly impressed me in an England shirt, there are semblances of a relationship developing with Rooney though. Did you think so? I thought Sturridge was okay, but I thought there was no understanding between any of our forwards at all, which was a surprise as Wellbeck and Rooney ought to know how to work together. Whitey Grandad Posted 16 October, 2013 Share Posted 16 October, 2013 Sturridge had plenty of opportunities to lay the ball off to a colleague but in both games I felt he was trying to do it all by himself and whilst he was struggling to get the ball under control the opposition nicked it off him. Bobbyboy Posted 16 October, 2013 Share Posted 16 October, 2013 Felt Sturridge had his moments but Welbeck certainly did not. How on earth is he an England regular?
alpine_saint Posted 16 October, 2013 Share Posted 16 October, 2013 Reckon we've seen the last of Rickie in an England shirt, sadly.
Bearsy Posted 16 October, 2013 Share Posted 16 October, 2013 I like Welbz, he is handful. I bet teams don't like playing against Welbz, cos he is v.quick + workrate + haircut. He has dodgy first touch tho.

That won't worry him, he would never have picked him in the first place if all of the others had been available, he's too slow for international football against major nations. I'd by far rather he turned his attention to Lallana and perhaps Clyne when considering saints players.
