So, The FA's comission to address the flaws in the English game and at The FA, especially in terms of coaching, development and nurturing of young players is now in place.

The members are as follows...

Greg Dyke - Chairman of the Football Association

Roger Burden - Vice-Chairman of the Football Association

Greg Clarke - Chairman of the Football League

Dario Gradi - Former football manager/coach/academy director

Ritchie Humphreys - Chairman of the Professional Footballers' Association

Glenn Hoddle - Former player and manager

Danny Mills - Former player - (why is he on it?)

What are people's views on this? Will it make any difference?

I don't see why Mills is there... glad to see Dario Gradi involved though.

Good to see Danny Mills on there, international ex pro with champions league experience and used to working under pressure and achieving high standards as his performance on celebrity master chef proved. Addressng flaws in the game doesnt get tougher than this.

Danny Mills?? WTF

Shows that most people judge him solely on his playing abilities.

He is probably one of the smartest and intelligent ex-pros around and and is also a great coach, especially with younger age groups. Out of all of those so called commissionaires, him and Dario Gradi will probably have a far better understanding of the current problems in the English game, and the way to go forward. imho of course.

Quite. As for judging him on his playing abilities England caps and Champions league football suggest he wasn't a bad player, the usual "he was crap" banging of the drum from the Talk Sporters. As a bloke he is as you describe him, He's also a good lad, lives in the same town as i do and a nice chap.

Seems a fairly well-rounded panel (although not convinced by the need to have two FA representatives, and Greg Clarke is a ****ing idiot), but let's face it, the Premier League were behind the setting up of the commission and then decided at the last minute that they couldn't be arsed with it - as a result, nothing will come of it.

Its focus is to increase the number of England-qualified players appearing for the country's top clubs and improve the England national team.

Yeah, good luck with that lads. All it needs is a few blokes sitting around in posh London hotels chomping on their free lunches and then submitting a 'report'. Complete waste of time and money.

Hmm, got a lot of time for him as an ex-pro but not been a huge fan of his coaching when working with Stoke.

Well, Danny Mills did actually write a paper on how to tackle the problem of getting more english players at the top level... I'd hazard a guess that might be why. Also a lot of people slating it, why? It's better thwy try and address the problem then sit back and ignore it. Dyke might just be the best thing to happen to the FA in a while.

It is a shame the premier league arent involved directly, but to get them to do much else apart from take a lot of our money year on year is pretty difficult to do.
