Delmary Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Just a reminder that ITV are running the Carling Cup Highlights 1140pm tonight.
Ponty Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Apparently we're one of the featured matches, along with Leeds vs Chester.
Professor Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Prediction: Leeds 6 Saints 2 (Minutes of screened play that is....) Hope I'm being unfair but we'll soon see.
saintj Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Prediction: Leeds 6 Saints 2 (Minutes of screened play that is....) Hope I'm being unfair but we'll soon see. more like leeds 15 mins and saints 1 min!!
Ponty Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Apparently we're one of the featured matches, along with Leeds vs Chester. Well that was clearly a lie!
Matthew Le God Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Many games were't even shown so we were lucky for once Also McGoldrick is now Irish according to ITV
Matthew Le God Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Well that was clearly a lie! No it was true. They didn't show every game
GeckoSaint Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Also McGoldrick is now Irish according to ITV Reckon they're getting him confused with Leon Best, cos McG's from Nottingham. Great 2nd goal BTW!!
thelamprey Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 That Beckford lad for Leeds was good though, yeah it was against Chester but talk about raw talent, interesting to se his manager put him down abit for not being an academy lad and coming through non league maybe academies aren't the be all and end all. Great to see our D M boots do the biz again though. Imnpt buying into the happy clappy stuff and one rumour/conspiracy is Lowes holding out to do a told you so with the kids before going off into the sunset. please yer self rupert just keep Dave M scoring and fair play to the coaching team for giving him the confidence. Hes been playing as a lone striker so there is even more responsibility on him and he is dong terrific
thelamprey Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 thats doing terrific, i dont know whats down his shorts
saint-crinny Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Top drawer from DMG - even if it was only Exeter that was quality. Should boost his confidence even more - good decision by JP to play him rather than bring in Stern.
twoandahalfstuds Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Fantastic first goal from ol' DMG lets hope he keeps this scoring run going for a LONG time.
Dannyboy_Saint Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Did they really need to show 30 mins of highlights from a game where 6 of the 7 goals were scored in the first half hour? They then had to rush through the remaining games and didnt even cover the last 7 matches that were played. Amateurish coverage as always.
St Landrew Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 McGoldrick has been doing this sort of thing for a couple of seasons in the reserves. I get the feeling he hasn't got himself a decent chance in the first team because he hasn't had enough experience. Bit of a Catch-22 really.
saintrich Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Top drawer from DMG - even if it was only Exeter that was quality. Should boost his confidence even more - good decision by JP to play him rather than bring in Stern. Stern John completely changed the game, he should start upfront with McGoldrick right wing.
saintwarwick Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 Well that was clearly a lie! I hope you dealt yourself an infraction point for misleading us.
Scudamore Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 Well i'm glad i sat through an hour of Sky Sports News rubbish before realising they plainly weren't going to show highlights of the Saints game before turning over to those highlights...of the Leeds game...dear oh dear... How they can justify showing half an hour of one game and then dropping goals from other games or even the game altogether really is beyond me...good riddance for next season i say... Cracker from McGoldrick mind...
Ponty Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 I hope you dealt yourself an infraction point for misleading us. It wasn't my lie tbf. It was mentioned in The Sun.
Saint Martini Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 It wasn't my lie tbf. It was mentioned in The Sun. So taking stuff out of the Sun and posting it here is not worth an infraction point? What is this messageboard/world coming to?
superstevesaints Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=vKHE3-qAfuw Highlights from Yesterdays game.
Ponty Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 So taking stuff out of the Sun and posting it here is not worth an infraction point? What is this messageboard/world coming to? Even worse, I didn't read it myself and only got the information second-hand.
Guest Hacienda Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=vKHE3-qAfuw Highlights from Yesterdays game. Thanks for that.
SNSUN Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 I timed it again - it was 1 minute and 1.04 seconds. Though that included the page which said Exeter vs Southampton at the beginning, so tecnically still less than a minute of Saints highlights! I didn't know it wason last night, but thank god for channel hopping when bored.
Saint Martini Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 Even worse, I didn't read it myself and only got the information second-hand. Ah, you were ITK.
Ponty Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 Ah, you were ITK. For the first time ever, and with the same result all the other ITKers seem to enjoy.
Johnny Shearer Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 Cheers for the link managed to miss it last and watched SSN this morning for 40mins where they showed every other games goals' except out match. Was slightly annoyed at that. Bar stewards.
Nexstar Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 ITV highlights were abosolutely **** because of how long the leeds game went on. I have therefore written a letter of complaint to ITV.
SaintDonkey Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 Cheers for the highlights link - glad I didn't sit through the tedium of the Leeds match just for that. At least I'll get to see decent highlights on Saturday (from behind the goal in the Chapel )
SW5 SAINT Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 Just a reminder that ITV are running the Carling Cup Highlights 1140pm tonight. Why did they have the Chester/Leeds as the main match. This was billed as the live Sky match, so any one who was remotely interested must have already seen he whole match live earlier. As soon as I saw this was the featured match I switched off and went to bed!!

As soon as I saw this was the featured match I switched off and went to bed!! Not everybody has Sky.
LeBoyer Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 Thanks for the link. BTW,the Saints vs Birmingham match will be the main match on the Sunday 'The Championship' on ITV at 9:25....announced during the Standard Liege vs Liverpool game on ITV tonight.
SNSUN Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 Thanks for the link. BTW,the Saints vs Birmingham match will be the main match on the Sunday 'The Championship' on ITV at 9:25....announced during the Standard Liege vs Liverpool game on ITV tonight. That'll be 2 minutes of exposure then.
St Landrew Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 I timed it again - it was 1 minute and 1.04 seconds. Though that included the page which said Exeter vs Southampton at the beginning, so tecnically still less than a minute of Saints highlights! I didn't know it wason last night, but thank god for channel hopping when bored. As it happens, South Today showed some of the highlights of the Exeter V Saints match. And I think they came to more than 61 seconds..! Oh, and as for sending complaints to ITV - don't bother. People have sent thousands over the past few years, and I think it may have contributed to them giving up the whole idea of covering the Championship. Besides, the extra time means they can invent another Soap to bore all the poor unfortunates who are mad enough to get sucked in. And according to Meridian Soccer Night host, Andy Steggalls, ITV don't give a toss.
