trousers Posted 17 October, 2013 Posted 17 October, 2013 @SouthamptonFC: The manager has just confirmed to us that @Luke_shaw3 has recovered from the recent illness that kept him out of #SaintsFC's last game. @SouthamptonFC: Pochettino also says he is "surprised" by reports that Artur Boruc has an injury, adding that the goalkeeper has trained normally. #saintsfc Hoorah!

Saint Charlie Posted 17 October, 2013 Posted 17 October, 2013 If (and its still an if) everyone is fit then this is a big game for us to see where we really are. Disagree there is no pressure.
angelman Posted 17 October, 2013 Posted 17 October, 2013 Boruc feigned injury so that he wasn't responsible for knocking out England. He has to live and work here and I wouldn't want to be a hate figure, especially over a meaningless game for him. Well that's how my conspiratorial mind worked!!

Well that's how my conspiratorial mind worked!! probably didn't want to go down in history as the bloke who wasn't as good as the clown Tomazewski, left that to Sczesny

Well that's Artur's international career over then. His only route to honours is with the mighty Saints.

ART Posted 17 October, 2013 Posted 17 October, 2013 Wonder how long Shaw will be able to stay clear and recovered from his latest dose of nachomatosis
the Camster Posted 17 October, 2013 Posted 17 October, 2013 Will we be wearing the black kit tomorrow
trousers Posted 17 October, 2013 Posted 17 October, 2013 (edited) http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24552155 Manchester United are very difficult to predict at the moment. They won at Sunderland despite not being very good, while their last home game saw West Brom go to Old Trafford and play them off the park. Yet, after watching the United players who played for England against Montenegro and Poland - and they all did extremely well - I would have to back them to beat Southampton, and comfortably. This is a good Saints team and they will go and attack, because that is their strength. But that win at the Stadium of Light, albeit slightly fortuitous because it came late, might just kick-start United under David Moyes. Lawro's prediction: 2-0 Our strength is in our attack? Maybe someone should tell him we've conceded 2 goals and kept 5 clean sheets so far this season... Edited 17 October, 2013 by trousers
LaptopSaint Posted 17 October, 2013 Posted 17 October, 2013 We can have a laugh and call them midtable utd and all, but i think they'll win easily. Don't know why, because I'm normally massively optimistic. Just think we're riding for a fall. Hope not!
pangy Posted 17 October, 2013 Posted 17 October, 2013 Utd are due to give someone a serious hiding soon, hoping it is not us
The9 Posted 17 October, 2013 Posted 17 October, 2013 Utd are due to give someone a serious hiding soon, hoping it is not us You seem to have mistaken them for the successful club managed by Alex Ferguson. Also, they beat Swansea 4-1 first game of the season, that's not long ago and surely fulfils that criteria?
Appy Posted 17 October, 2013 Posted 17 October, 2013 Utd are due to give someone a serious hiding soon, hoping it is not us Based on that logic, aren't we due a win at Old Trafford?
shirleysfc Posted 18 October, 2013 Posted 18 October, 2013 Based on that logic, aren't we due a win at Old Trafford? When did logic ever play a part in football!
farawaysaint Posted 18 October, 2013 Posted 18 October, 2013 Any news THEVMAN ? The Vman is away this weekend and cannot help us, we're back to the days of idle speculation about the team and tactics.
Window Cleaner Posted 18 October, 2013 Posted 18 October, 2013 The Vman is away this weekend and cannot help us, we're back to the days of idle speculation about the team and tactics. Still a bit concerned over Boruc myself, seems a bit static in all the videos.
Jai27 Posted 18 October, 2013 Posted 18 October, 2013 Great odds for Saints to win this one. I fancy a scrappy 2-1 Saints resulting in a Man United supporters melt down. Everyone is saying that United will find their feet and climb the table to finish in the top 4. I'm not so sure myself.
Pilsmer Posted 18 October, 2013 Posted 18 October, 2013 Still a bit concerned over Boruc myself, seems a bit static in all the videos. Are you sure you're not looking at the photos? ;o)
Cabrone Posted 18 October, 2013 Posted 18 October, 2013 That graphic is a dreadful prem record against them. Time to nick 3 points, redress the imbalance a bit and watch the death star implode. Boruc Clyne Fonte Lovren Shaw Cork Wanyama Davis Schneiderlin Lallana Ossie
max_saints Posted 18 October, 2013 Posted 18 October, 2013 wanyama-davis-morgan vs fellaini-cleverly-carrick winner takes all?
Window Cleaner Posted 18 October, 2013 Posted 18 October, 2013 Are you sure you're not looking at the photos? ;o) not really. In each of the video sequences showing the keepers, and there aren't that many, KD is between the posts and Boruc is static to the side of the goal with Jimenez. As the thought of KD in goal for us makes me shudder I guess it's just over-reaction
Saint Charlie Posted 18 October, 2013 Posted 18 October, 2013 wanyama-davis-morgan vs fellaini-cleverly-carrick winner takes all? How well Fonte and Lovren deal with Rooney and RVP will decide whether we have a chance IMO.
NewYorkSaint Posted 18 October, 2013 Posted 18 October, 2013 That graphic is a dreadful prem record against them. Time to nick 3 points, redress the imbalance a bit and watch the death star implode. Boruc Clyne Fonte Lovren Shaw Cork Wanyama Davis Schneiderlin Lallana Ossie Personally, I like that team... with Rickie avail as supersub. (or better yet, move Wanyama to the front sweeper role and reunite Cork with Schneiderlin.) But I can't see Poch switching to this formation. Suspect he might try one extra midfield player, though. Something like: Boruc Clyne Fonte Lovren Shaw Wanyama Schneiderlin JWP Davis Lallana Ossie ...with JRod and Rickie avail to come on if we go behind.
pap Posted 18 October, 2013 Posted 18 October, 2013 Think we've got a great chance of winning. Put my money where my mouth is at 5/1. 5/1! Sometimes the big team bias works for you
Jack Posted 18 October, 2013 Posted 18 October, 2013 Think we've got a great chance of winning. Put my money where my mouth is at 5/1. 5/1! Sometimes the big team bias works for you Yep. I had 2-0 Rooney in the England game so used some of the profit for this. £20 on Saints win at 11/2 and £20 on the draw at 3/1
Glasgow_Saint Posted 18 October, 2013 Posted 18 October, 2013 Yep. I had 2-0 Rooney in the England game so used some of the profit for this. £20 on Saints win at 11/2 and £20 on the draw at 3/1 Bingo - did the same £350 thank you very much

Jack Posted 18 October, 2013 Posted 18 October, 2013 Bingo - did the same £350 thank you very much Fair play, you'd never catch me lumping £20 on a scorecast
Ohio Saint Posted 18 October, 2013 Posted 18 October, 2013 You guys have now convinced me that we are set up for a huge disappointment.
hypochondriac Posted 18 October, 2013 Posted 18 October, 2013 Fair play, you'd never catch me lumping £20 on a scorecast He is lying like he always does...
Dark Munster Posted 18 October, 2013 Posted 18 October, 2013 http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/article/165/8978858/rvp-injury-worries-moyes RVP out?
timayes Posted 18 October, 2013 Posted 18 October, 2013 I had a feeling we would beat Liverpool, sadly that same feeling is not with me this weekend. I am full of pessimisticness, so if we can keep a clean sheet I think that would be awesome. Having said that, I also thought that Swansea would do a number on us, so WTFDIK? Cant predict it, which is why this season is already so great.
rooney Posted 18 October, 2013 Posted 18 October, 2013 I have the same feeling that we will win tomorrow as I had V Liverpool. Our time has come, COYR.

Why oh why do you guys even think lambert will not start... there is nothing to suggest MP will Bench him.. he's still our best chance of creating/scoring chances.. wake up
Special K Posted 18 October, 2013 Posted 18 October, 2013 3 - 1 Saints. Osvaldo with early goal. Lambert beginning of 2nd half and J Rod late on. I dreamt it last night between dreams about a two's up with Kylie and Danni Minogue and being Magnum PI's right hand man. So it's gotta be true.
rpb Posted 18 October, 2013 Posted 18 October, 2013 They don't seem to be very confident on here... http://www.redcafe.net/threads/manchester-united-vs-southampton.377978/
davefizzy14 Posted 18 October, 2013 Posted 18 October, 2013 I am going for a 1-0 win to us. Lambert in the second half. COYR!
