jawillwill Posted 7 October, 2013 Share Posted 7 October, 2013 This time last season (or around this time last season) I seem to remember we were breaking Premier League records for the goals any side had ever conceded after this many games in the PL. Does anyone know the record for least amount of goals conceded after the first 7 games? We can't be far off, surely? Within 2 of the record I'd guess. OWTSGMI Posted 7 October, 2013 Share Posted 7 October, 2013 Don't know but just picked up this gem from Opta: Southampton are the 20th instance in top-flight history (1888-2013) of a team conceding fewer than 3 goals in their first 7 games. Saint Mikey Posted 7 October, 2013 Share Posted 7 October, 2013 That's impressive, especially Saints have done it twice, also did it 1983/84 Like anything in footy, you need a bit of luck too. We should have conceded a pen at Norwich, we were lucky a gold plated chance fell to Collins for West Ham and god knows how we kept a clean sheet yesterday - the post and Boruc saving us. It hasn't all been down to exceptional defending, although we obviously have done well in that area.
