paulwantsapint Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Who do we want in round 2 & where? IMO we either need easy SMS or big prem team away who cant be bothered ( aka newcastle )
saints_is_the_south Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Home tie please. We haven't had a home game in the league cup in a few years so i think its about time again.
trousers Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Who do we want in round 2 & where? IMO we either need easy SMS or big prem team away who cant be bothered ( aka newcastle ) they might be bothered if shearer's our boss by then
benjii Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 they might be bothered if shearer's our boss by then Defintely a consideration IMO
Saints67 Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Don't really mind, whens the draw? Wednesday night after Birminghams carling Cup game
Nexstar Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Wednesday night after Birminghams carling Cup game Oh sweet, cheers.
AwaySaint1 Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Have we sunk so low that we now anticipate the LC draw? We will be clapping throw-ins next.
ottery st mary Posted 12 August, 2008 Posted 12 August, 2008 Have we sunk so low that we now anticipate the LC draw? We will be clapping throw-ins next. To be honest most of our/if not all throw ins were rubbish tonight more work required. Let us get home games for revenue and more games for team building. Sod it lets go all the way to the final.
Dan Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 Don't care. Irrelevant competition. You would if we got to the final.
Scummer Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 Who do we want in round 2 & where? IMO we either need easy SMS or big prem team away who cant be bothered ( aka newcastle ) Do teams share gate receipts in the Carling Cup?
Baldsaint Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 Have we sunk so low that we now anticipate the LC draw? I've always looked forward to cup draws, whether it be FA, League or one of the euro cups. Must be something to do with being a football fan I suppose.
Andy_Porter Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 Don't care. Irrelevant competition. How is it irrelevant to us? I really don't understand how a football couldn't care about a cup competition. We're obviously not going to win it but a quarter final or so isn't out of the question and that would bring a few quid into the club and be a few decent games to watch. Are FA cup run, pre Bristol Rovers was just about the only exciting thing we did last season. I'd quite like to get one of the Premiership top4 away, preferably Arsenal because I haven't done the Emirates yet or a league one/two side at home.

All clubs in european competitions come in in the third round!!
Fan The Flames Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 Have we sunk so low that we now anticipate the LC draw? We will be clapping throw-ins next. Considering we played last night and the draw is tonight it's a valid topic of converstaion. Even if we were flying high in the Premiership I would be interested and looking forward to the draw. Whats your problem.
Dan Johnson Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 All clubs in european competitions come in in the third round!! I thought they'd changed it to the 2nd round this year? maybe wrong
Papa Shango Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 I'd like an away game, preferably not one too far north though. Something like West Ham or Fulham would be good.
Flyer Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 Saints arent seeded so it will either be a Prem team or a higher placed CCC club.
VectisSaint Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 Home tie please. We haven't had a home game in the league cup in a few years so i think its about time again. Thought we played Yeovil at home season before last:)
Scummer Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 Saints arent seeded so it will either be a Prem team or a higher placed CCC club. Unless Birmingham and Sheffield United both lose tonight, then we'll become seeded. Not very likely though.
Andy_Porter Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 All clubs in european competitions come in in the third round!! Oh right, i'll change to a L2 club at home then.
Matthew Le God Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 Saints arent seeded so it will either be a Prem team or a higher placed CCC club. We might be, depends on tonights matches
Papa Shango Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 I got a feeling we could get the skates.... They don't come in until round 3.
Flyer Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 We might be, depends on tonights matches Yeah but youre relying on Sheff U losing at home to Aldershot and Birmingham losing as well. Pretty unlikely.
saintrich Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 I'd like an away game, preferably not one too far north though. Something like West Ham or Fulham would be good. +1.
trousers Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 All clubs in european competitions come in in the third round!! Apart from Manchester City it would seem....
SaintJackoInHurworth Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 Personally, Darlington away would be a great draw... I could walk to the game then!!! Or probably be lazy and drive up to a street just down the road from the ground and walk from there!
saint.tom.clancy Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 Apart from Manchester City it would seem.... So is it prem teams tonight or not?
the scud Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 So is it prem teams tonight or not? Yeah just: Manchester City Blackburn Rovers West Ham United Newcastle United Middlesbrough Wigan Athletic Sunderland Bolton Wanderers Fulham
Mr saint Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 Home or away? I'm not near a tv at the moment, and there's no internet stuff on it?
saint lard Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 (edited) Suspect Coventry V Toon, and us possibly will be on the telly box.IMO. Mind you, they might fancy an upset with Forest at home to Sunderland. Edited 13 August, 2008 by saint lard
Deppo Posted 13 August, 2008 Posted 13 August, 2008 We always get a **** draw, teams we play quickly in succession or teams that recur over a few seasons...typical Saints...
