Good performance, if unspectacular. Turned up the heat second half... and we're racking up the clean sheets.

So when was the last time we played Man United in the league and we were above them? Because it's happening in a couple of weeks time...

1990 I believe, although we lost 2-1.

Sign outside the bookies this morning offering 25-1 on 2-0 with Osvaldo scoring first.

Dipped out there, I called it 2-0 Osvaldo and Lambert in the build-up thread!

Who ever would have thought that moving into a CL spot could be so straightfd?

Palace poor and we did enough, hopefully it will be be a better spectacle against Swansea next week, a much more realistic test of where we are at the moment.

Job done. First half was scrappy and unspectacular, but with the two early goals in the second half it was over as a contest as Palace didn't offer any real threat (no shots on target the whole game).

Great to see Osvaldo get his first (of many, I hope) for us and a wonderful free kick from SRL. Defence looked much better second half after a couple of panicky moments in the first.

I'm still a little worried about Wanyama's passing though. He can't seem to ever find a team-mate when he isn't under any pressure. A solid performance from him otherwise.

MOTM for me goes to Lovren again. He has brought so much confidence to our defence it's like we are a completely different team with him at the back.

Agreed.

....but.... could so easily have gifted two pens in the last two prem games. The scouser one was iffy to say the least, and the one today could so easily have ended up as a spot kick, I've seen far less obvious ones given. Superb signing though.

I thought generally we were beaten to the ball a lot but kept possession well. Wanyama was great, just gets excited every now and again and tries an ambitious ball...keep it simple son.

Osvaldo with a great strike, similar to the one last week v Liverpool but this time took a nice bounce over the keepers hand. Rickie...well it was Rickie, seen many of them nestle in, and another inch perfect free kick. Superb

We played some nice stuff in patches.

4th in the league...I'll take that! Bring on Swansea :)

Easiest victory I've seen in a while. Never really troubled and it was just a matter of when would the scoring begin. Big Vic did a great job breaking their play up but at times his first touch is simply woeful. Delighted with the impact Lovren has had on the whole back five, just pure quality. Exciting times to be a Saints fan.

Am ****ing stoked, not seen the goals so will need to record the game later but sounded professional, still concerned by the fact both goals seemed to be (based on descriptions) classics rather than fluid play but I stand to be correct on Dani's goal.

All good and the defence is a fortress, please don't let Lovren ever get injured, only comment I can make on the game which i only saw for the first 10mins was that clyne seemed to miss place every pass he did but I am sure he improved.

****ing 4th, I've not sent this many screenshots since I bumped into Bearsy on Chatroullette !!

Agree MoTM to Lovren. Superb and a real competitor. Tenacious in the tackle and no soft touch. Pure class.

Thought Clyne was superb too and never troubled. Pace to burn.

A little disjointed first half and scrappy as others have said.

The fast start to the second half was excellent. At last some quality on the ball and a nice bit of pace moving it around.

Very easy winners in the end. Palace look in trouble already.

It is never easy breaking down any side who comes to park the team bus and hope to play on the break.

Fortunately we are still able to break sides like that down and come away with the win - It was a sound professional performance from us and 3 points won!

Great feet from Osvaldo and he deserved his goal - The monkey is off his back now and I'm sure this will be the first of many.

Very chuffed tonight

We jacked it in after the second goal which is understandable but really we could have won by 4 or 5. Osvaldo is class, his all round play and movement is exceptional, the flick off the outside of the boot to set Davis up was world class

Swansea next week will be a real test of where we are (tickets sorted!)

Poor 1st half, not a classic but a massive result. Osvaldo's goal absolutely priceless and stunning fk from SRL.

after the 1st goal we started to look really confident but took our foot of the pedal a little and sat a little to deep IMO. Good subs helped inject a bit of urgency and we closed the game out well.

Centre half's excellent again. Still think we are yet to fully click offensively but important that both the strikers scored especially dani who was really delighted.

no massive stand outs for mom, gotta give it to dani for our 1st goal from open play - big big goal. 4th for now and lol @ man utd!

Big shout out to the refs pen decision today - missed out on a few recently but a really strong decision and could easily have changed the game there

x2...the 2nd could of been given on another day as well.

Fair play on Holloway too, saying he dived when he should of shot, was expecting him to have another random rant.

They're not really though are they?

Today we played a straight 4-4-2. I think this is ponch trying to make it easier for them to gel, by having a formation that suits both. Rickie has been out of sorts since playing for England.

Onto the match. Great start to the second half, first we were a litle flat and apprehensive i think, playing the scrappy CP game, but come the second half, cometh the man/men. Glad to see Ossie of to his first goal, and hopefully the start of him banging them in, and Rickie back to the set piece king.

4th in the table? Can't be right surely........My missus reckons that the if our last 4 years were a game of Football manager, I would be moaning about it being unrealistic.

The future's bright. The futures red and.........these is some white bits in there, i think.

I did not see the game so I can't really comment much but I will say this: When we went 2-0 up I never had any doubt we'd win, simply because I now believe the Manager and the players have the experience and nous to close games out and if necessary turn them into turgid affairs. There is an element of maturity to us now in that respect.
