What a frustrating performance. We really do look dull once the ball goes into the area. Unable to create many decent chances.. just the two I can remember. Schneiderlins header and Lambert. Not sure what needs to be done really to improve it.

Again we do seem very solid defensively but seem to have lost all creativity going forward. Perhaps this is the consequence of having a central defender as a manager.

How I missed your post praising the teams performance after the Liverpool game !!

Lallana/Lambert/Osvaldo all too happy staying far up the pitch and waiting for the ball, not one of them has taken the responsibility to drop deep and link it all up so the defence and CMs have no option but to pass it about ponderously amongst themselves or hoof it. On the rare occaisions we have got the ball forward quickly the front players are taking to long to decide what to do with the ball.

 

Palace look capable of nicking a goal on the counter attack.

we get about 30 yards out when wide and then either pass the ball back or cut inside. never ever (hardly) trying to stretch their back 4.

No threat up front. Need to use width and get crosses in. Lallana has had chances to get to the ball over but decides to turn back into two defenders every time. Needs to release the ball at the right time. Osvaldo and Lambert look hopeless. Wayamana looks the most likely player to get a shot on target. Think I'm going to be a bed wetter and predict a defeat here,

Being solid at the back and playing for 1-0's all the time is fine but what worries me is if we concede a lucky Palace goal then I don't see us getting back into it.
