orchardsaint Posted 27 September, 2013 Posted 27 September, 2013 Out of interest, does anybody know if any footballer chose to wear the much talked about rainbow laces last weekend? not the ones that were told to by their clubs but actually wanted to. and has any footballer come out since then, in the massive solidarity pact it was meant to acheive.
Saint_clark Posted 27 September, 2013 Posted 27 September, 2013 Didn't exactly have the effect they desired, did it.
Bearsy Posted 27 September, 2013 Posted 27 September, 2013 Didn't exactly have the effect they desired, did it. on the contrary, stonewall got their name in the papers + paddy power got free advertising And thusly the great campaign vs football homosex was deemed great success.
orchardsaint Posted 27 September, 2013 Author Posted 27 September, 2013 on the contrary, stonewall got their name in the papers + paddy power got free advertising And thusly the great campaign vs football homosex was deemed great success. you are making it sound like was only done for advertising, and not in the hope we get to see which footballers are gay!
Bearsy Posted 27 September, 2013 Posted 27 September, 2013 i reckon stonewall was just stuck with a job lot of rainbow laces. They're the Trotters Independent Traders of homosex campaigners.
Gemmel Posted 27 September, 2013 Posted 27 September, 2013 on the contrary, stonewall got their name in the papers + paddy power got free advertising And thusly the great campaign vs football homosex was deemed great success. About all the rainbow laces stuff, Stonewall were in the metro saying they didn't want footballers to come out for the sake of the fans.... Citing it was a personal decision and nothing to do with the fans.

Grey Crab Posted 27 September, 2013 Posted 27 September, 2013 Why would anyone want a gay footballer playing for their team?
Gemmel Posted 27 September, 2013 Posted 27 September, 2013 Which is kinda funny considering that is what most of us were saying on the original thread before the do gooders got involved
Gemmel Posted 27 September, 2013 Posted 27 September, 2013 they'll never shift rainbow laces with that attitude. Talking out your arse bearsy..... watch bargain hunt in fifty years time
Mr X Posted 27 September, 2013 Posted 27 September, 2013 Why would anyone want a gay footballer playing for their team? Why wouldn't they?
Grey Crab Posted 27 September, 2013 Posted 27 September, 2013 Why wouldn't they? Er, isn't it obvious?
Bearsy Posted 27 September, 2013 Posted 27 September, 2013 if I was at work and done some good work, and suddenly all my fit bird colleagues was mobbing me + kissing me + jumping all over me + rubbing hot bodies against mine, I would get boner. I wouldn't be able to help it. Even tho they is just my colleagues + I have girlfriend, I would get boner. I'm even getting boner now just thinking bout it.
Mr X Posted 27 September, 2013 Posted 27 September, 2013 Er, isn't it obvious? No this is 2013 most people have moved on
orchardsaint Posted 27 September, 2013 Author Posted 27 September, 2013 so, no-one has come out then?
ART Posted 27 September, 2013 Posted 27 September, 2013 Danny Higginbotham did and wrote an article of the subject http://twentyfour7football.com/gay-straight-or-bisexual-who-cares-17325
Bearsy Posted 27 September, 2013 Posted 27 September, 2013 maybe they is out and just no-one cares. I'm not necessary expecting someone to do massive press conference and be like "Yolo! I am homosex!" Edit: Art just accident outed Danny Higgybottam!
View From The Top Posted 27 September, 2013 Posted 27 September, 2013 No this is 2013 most people have moved on It's just Deppo and his individual take on irony. Alas for him though none are biting.

You are so far from the point it is unreal. No-one actually expected dozens of footballers to suddenly come out the next week.
Grey Crab Posted 27 September, 2013 Posted 27 September, 2013 No this is 2013 most people have moved on Yes, we've moved on from having lame footballers playing for us and now want quality players. Wait, why is everyone talking about coming out? What has all this got to do with homosexuals?
orchardsaint Posted 27 September, 2013 Author Posted 27 September, 2013 Danny Higginbotham did and wrote an article of the subject http://twentyfour7football.com/gay-straight-or-bisexual-who-cares-17325 he hasn't come out, just said he would mind if someone did
Tokyo-Saint Posted 27 September, 2013 Posted 27 September, 2013 Well I am sticking with it until one of you come out. Even if bear has gone back to being a space invader, I am sticking with it.
Bearsy Posted 27 September, 2013 Posted 27 September, 2013 I don’t believe there are many other gay footballers within the game anyway dunno now, that reads like he is come out.
Mr X Posted 27 September, 2013 Posted 27 September, 2013 It's just Deppo and his individual take on irony. Alas for him though none are biting. Ahh I see, for what it's worth I don't see anyone coming out any time soon in the premiership and it would probably do more harm harm than good but make no mistake some footballers are gay allegedly ex saints players too though unproven
Bearsy Posted 27 September, 2013 Posted 27 September, 2013 Well I am sticking with it until one of you come out. Even if bear has gone back to being a space invader, I am sticking with it. i feel like we've cured homosex now. I'm moving on to people prejudice vs ghosts
orchardsaint Posted 27 September, 2013 Author Posted 27 September, 2013 You are so far from the point it is unreal. No-one actually expected dozens of footballers to suddenly come out the next week. how far away from the point am i? the point was to show the world that premier league clubs/footballers support the gay footballers and in doing so would make an open and safe environment in which they could come out and be accepted, without anyone singing songs or making up chants about them. surely. so if this is the case, why hasn't it happened, a la clarke carlisle saying it would, and why is it unreal to beleive they would? unless there aren't dozens of gay footballers around as the figures quoted say there is.
Tokyo-Saint Posted 27 September, 2013 Posted 27 September, 2013 What about the Jews bear? If we have now done all the gays (mostly you I'll admit), shouldn't we move on to the Jews who want to go to football but don't feel safe about it and then the ghosts after that?
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 27 September, 2013 Posted 27 September, 2013 (edited) how far away from the point am i? the point was to show the world that premier league clubs/footballers support the gay footballers and in doing so would make an open and safe environment in which they could come out and be accepted, without anyone singing songs or making up chants about them. surely. so if this is the case, why hasn't it happened, a la clarke carlisle saying it would, and why is it unreal to beleive they would? unless there aren't dozens of gay footballers around as the figures quoted say there is. Do you really think anyone thought after one weekend of people wearing rainbow laces people are going to start coming out in their droves? That wasn't even remotely the point. It is to raise awareness of the inherit problem of homosexuality in a macho environment, and in doing so start a discussion about it. From there, conditions can be improved - which will hopefully lead to footballers feeling comfortable to come out, if they so wish. Edited 27 September, 2013 by KelvinsRightGlove

Is anyone here jew? What colour is ur laces?
Tokyo-Saint Posted 27 September, 2013 Posted 27 September, 2013 I sent you a PM on how we can help the Jews feel more comfortable and come out as being Jewish while posting on the forum. Shalom!
Bearsy Posted 27 September, 2013 Posted 27 September, 2013 oh your using the fashionable gay=lame term yeah it does mean that on the streets. On radio they was talking bout lexicons, which is where the oxford dictionary man counts up how people use words and then changes the dictionary definition accordingly. He didn't mention if they is turning gay tho.
ART Posted 27 September, 2013 Posted 27 September, 2013 he hasn't come out, just said he would mind if someone did Your initial post asked if any players wore the rainbow laces. I replied "Danny Higginibothan did"!!!!
Tokyo-Saint Posted 27 September, 2013 Posted 27 September, 2013 Art, can you tell us that porn story again? That was amazing. I honestly laughed out loud when I read that.

If we have now done all the gays (mostly you I'll admit), shouldn't we move on to the Jews who want to go to football but don't feel safe about it and then the ghosts after that? is there a massive contingent of closet jews that need our support? and anyway, it is not jews next, it is gingers!

Citing it was a personal decision and nothing to do with the fans. Which is exactly what most people were saying anyway, it's nothing to do with us so why is there a whole campaign about it? If a Saints player came out here and now, would any Saints fan honestly give a sh*t?
