CB Fry Posted 27 September, 2013 Share Posted 27 September, 2013 Nice headline/opening paragraph vs what-was-actually-said stand-off there. Nothing to see here. Anti-Saints conspiracy lying journo scum etc etc etc.
Sour Mash Posted 27 September, 2013 Share Posted 27 September, 2013 I don't quite get MP's quotes on Lambert's mobility. Can he be more mobile then he currently is? He's just not that sort of player physically.

He's just not that sort of player physically. In that article Crook omits another part of the quote from Pochettino which, paraphrased, was something like: "Don't get me wrong, we think Rickie is already very good with his mobility but we just want to improve it so it's even better than it already is". I can't think why Crook left that bit out...
ART Posted 27 September, 2013 Share Posted 27 September, 2013 Clear to see why Pochettino uses an Interpreter. When he finally gets around to speaking for himself my advice to him would be " keep your mouth shut and let the players do the talking on the pitch"

Fair enough, but that doesn't really change my view - Lambert is in better physical shape than he's ever been - I can't see how he's going to become more mobile than this, he's never going to be that kind of player. s0108787 Posted 27 September, 2013 Share Posted 27 September, 2013 I think poch was referring to the intelligence of his runs and use of spaces, rather than his physical mobility.
Mikey88 Posted 27 September, 2013 Share Posted 27 September, 2013 I could be wrong but based on the press conference it seemed Poch was talking more about the mental aspect of his game. I think his the term he used was helping him to 'interpret the space'. To me that say's that he believes he can physically do it but he wants him to make better judgement's when it comes to pulling off defenders, moving out wide, interchanging with the rest of our attacking line etc. Just my take on it though. Chez Posted 27 September, 2013 Share Posted 27 September, 2013 Goodfellas immediately came to mind When we were kids, the compares used to visit each other. There was this man. He would never talk. He'd just sit there all night. They would say to him, "What's the matter? Don't you say anything?" He says, "What am I going to say, that my wife two-times me?" So she says, "Shut up! You're always talking!"
