Southampton Credit Card agreement ended

Anyone else have the old Southampton FC Credit Card (MBNA)? Letter received today to say it will be discontinued when the card expires. No great problem to me, only advantage it had was 10% discount in Saints shop, but with 10% discount for season ticket holders it became valueless in that regard for me this season. Still a bit disappointing, was always nice to have a card displaying the team you support. I wonder if this means some other bank will provide similar scheme in the future or possibly a conflict with a future sponsor.

There's a few credit cards who'll let you upload your own personalised picture and print it as the face of your credit card, if you wanted to keep that part of it. Especially valid if the 10% thing is pretty much irrelevant for you with an ST.

are they allowed to print a copyrighted image on your card though?

Good point actually. I guess a picture of St. Mary's would be fair game but the badge, probably not.

A way around that: perhaps use the "original" badge, with the 50's type football instead of the black and white one. Don't think the old one is copyrighted; the black and white football one was brought in to stop copyright issue.

I always preferred the ball on the old badge anyway....

Same for me, I got the letter yesterday, I actually used the discount a couple of weeks ago because I forgot to take my ST to the shop, which actually illustrates a good point; my credit card is always with me, my ST isn't, so there won't be any impulse buys as I pass the shop in future.

With regards to using an image of the club crest on a DIY credit card, why not find a picture of St Marys taken from the front, this will show the crest.

My ST is always with me. I can't even say that of my boots nowadays. :(

Unless we have another deal lined up we could be one of the few, maybe the only PL team that does not have a credit card agreement. Other clubs' cards had much more attractive offers than ours. Maybe we are moving to Creation Cards, or perhaps Nicola has lined up a deal with a third provider.
