Saint Charlie Posted 25 September, 2013 Share Posted 25 September, 2013 The quote on that Nigerian guy is quite old, we were linked with him in the summer, and I believe some Swedish residents on here said he isnt overly good, pace but nothing else i.e probably not even as good as Mayuka. Toon Saint Posted 25 September, 2013 Share Posted 25 September, 2013 (edited) I thought Tord Grip was already part of the scouting network albeit in an unofficial capacity - is this actually a new development? Hardly helps us if he is revealing our targets in national newspapers either. Edited 25 September, 2013 by Toon Saint
ART Posted 25 September, 2013 Share Posted 25 September, 2013 Maybe this is a sign of Nicola lining up Sven to replace Pochettino if he doesn't produce the goodies!! Or maybe he's going to appoint Sven as Director of Football!! Haha

Correct. I thought Tord Grip was already part of the scouting network albeit in an unofficial capacity - is this actually a new development? Hardly helps us if he is revealing our targets in national newspapers either. Correct. I don't think he has actually talked to journo's concerning Hamad. He made some comments in the summer on the Nigerian guy but as you can see there's only one quote in the whole article. I wouldn't surprised if some journo put together to bits of info to create a new story (The two bit of info were Norwich, Fulham & WHU interested in Hamad and Saints having a scout that covers Scandinavia and in all likelihood someone spotted Grip watching Malmö at some point). Can't say he's no good... because he looks spectacular at times, but then so does Tadanari Lee...
a1ex2001 Posted 26 September, 2013 Share Posted 26 September, 2013 I'm still looking to blame someone for Sarmiento. Saw him play for us at Notts County and he was half decent in a shower of sh1t performance

Says 4 prem clubs are in, then only lists Fulham, Norwich & WHU - could we be the 4th?
skintsaint Posted 2 October, 2013 Share Posted 2 October, 2013 Centre midfield is probably the position we don't really need strengthening...although goals from midfield is something we do need.

KelvinsRightGlove Posted 2 October, 2013 Share Posted 2 October, 2013 yeah looks like i made that up...ignore me. To be fair, I'm not 100% sure that's a position we are crying out for either! Just thought I recognised the name from this thread is all. Goals from midfield are always useful!
Saint 76er Posted 2 October, 2013 Share Posted 2 October, 2013 To be fair, I'm not 100% sure that's a position we are crying out for either! Just thought I recognised the name from this thread is all. Goals from midfield are always useful! This was certainly one of the names Tord Grip was alleged to have recommended to us and this guy does seem very highly regarded. Thing is that he is apparently available free on a Bosman in January, so we would only have to outbid others on wages and the player says he wants to play in England. At no transfer fee it would be a cheap way to add an apparently quality player for depth, regardless of position. This guy is a Swedish international and, I believe, captain of Malmo who are top of the Swedish league and surely with Tord's influence in Sweden he could direct him to us if we were keen.
