Charlie Wayman Posted 26 September, 2013 Share Posted 26 September, 2013 Lallana doesn't look like scoring? Norwich away hit the post with a cracking strike, WBA missed out on a goal with the tightest of offside decisions, Liverpool away tested their keeper when 1-on-1, should have done better with that one. Let's be honest, nobody is scoring from open play. Only our centre backs from set pieces have managed anything worth remembering with the odd pen making up our class leading goal tally. Probaly be another Bore draw on Saturday 0-0 most likely, with 1-1 just possible if we really kick on.

SaintBobby Posted 26 September, 2013 Share Posted 26 September, 2013 We should win this with relative ease. As long as we don't let in an early goal as per Sunderland, we will be fine. 2-0 or 3-0.
Saint_lambden Posted 26 September, 2013 Share Posted 26 September, 2013 We SHOULD win. But that's the thing with Saints, SHOULD win usually means doesn't (recently!). Will go with 2-1. Winner on 85 minutes from our man Dani.

jasoneuelllfanclub Posted 27 September, 2013 Share Posted 27 September, 2013 No sightings of AL and JR on the OS gallery but I'm sure they are fine! Would have thought Jrod would have been training still even though he had FIFA promo in London at 4pm. I think the training session was in the morning. So perhaps him and Lallana are injured? I think he means unchanged from the Liverpool game. Palace obviously can play Puncheon which makes this even more winnable. Wonder if Phillips makes an appearance. That's always worth a laugh *****il he scores against us).

disconnect Posted 27 September, 2013 Share Posted 27 September, 2013 My first match of the season, against my local team. A few of my mates support Palace so hoping we can get the 3 points. They're not confident, and we are due some goals. We're also due a poor defensive performance though! Hoping for Osvaldo to get his first goal(s). Am looking forward to catching a Wanyama piledriver sat near the top of the Chapel.
JRM Posted 27 September, 2013 Share Posted 27 September, 2013 i had a look on the official website a couple of hours ago and there were 785 seats left for tomorrow's game , mostly in block 3 (95) block 18 (122 behind goal) and other chapel / itchen corner blocks. with a few more sold today and walk up tomorrow this could well be a "sell out"

Saint Charlie Posted 27 September, 2013 Share Posted 27 September, 2013 It's near to sell out but only 3 pages on the build up thread?! Is the forum dying? No real debate around team selection, no known injuries, team in good(ish) form and expected to win. That's why. Just the same with the Post Match threads, always far more pages if we have lost than won. Generally the forum tends towards the negative and prefers to criticise than praise. Saint Charlie Posted 27 September, 2013 Share Posted 27 September, 2013 You will never outwit Alex Crook. He correctly predicted in April that Seaborne, Dickson, Richardson, Butterfield, Mayuka, Hammond, Sharp and Chaplow would all leave and is still crowing about it today. Proper journalist this guy. Fair play to him for putting his neck on the line.
tomf05 Posted 27 September, 2013 Share Posted 27 September, 2013 IMO there is such a selection dilemma in the centre mid/ number 10 spot. Gaston brings the creativity but lacks the commitment and often end result. Davis' performances speak for themselves, wanyama has undoubted ability and really tightens us up although has been a little off form last two games. Many would like to see Cork involved while surely Schneiderlin is selected as a solid backbone. While many leave JWP out because of all this yet I struggle to leave him Out of my 11 because there is simply no one else who seems capable of delivering a decent ball past the first man apart from Rickie who really ought to be on the end of it. So having said all that, I don't have a chosen line up and think MOPO has got a right issue on his hands.

SuperMikey Posted 27 September, 2013 Share Posted 27 September, 2013 Got to win this one - no excuses! ---------------BORUC---------------- CLYNE----FONTE----LOVREN----SHAW ------WANYAMA----MORGAN--------- LALLANA------RAMIREZ----RODRIGUEZ --------------OSVALDO-------------- Palace will look to be compact at the back, so Gaston in the hole to try and provide that killer ball that we lacked against West Ham. It's imperative that one of Lallana, Rodriguez, Osvaldo or Lambert gets on the scoresheet - just to give them that confidence boost. I'm going for 3-0 Saints. captainchris Posted 27 September, 2013 Share Posted 27 September, 2013 Well everyone seems to want to go with the same team..... Not sure yet if the two - come four up front is working. Personally, for team balance I would put Davis in for Osvaldo or possibly Rickie and revert to one up front. No way at the moment that Rimirez is up to the first team so it's Davis for me who provides balance to the team.

Was good seeing Ramirez play and score a great goal v Brizzle City in the Cup on tues night but I guess MP will put him on the bench! dubai_phil Posted 28 September, 2013 Share Posted 28 September, 2013 SURELY we can't come up against a keeper playing a blinder THREE weeks in a row? More worryingly, Al Jism are showing this game listed as being on .TV whatever the feck that is, (along with 3 other games inc Hull v Citeh) and yet are listing Millwall v Leeds and Barca's Handball team as being on actual Broadcast TV. This means I'm gonna have to ring their Call Centre to find out before making the 20 mile round trip by taxi down the pub this afternoon. Oh deep joy. david in sweden Posted 28 September, 2013 Share Posted 28 September, 2013 the interesting comment about this game ; (apart from the Clyne pre-interview about his time at Palace)... is Ian Hollway's comment about " Palace fighting to beat Saints " .. Um..I wonder how many yellow cards that will bring?. It's his pride at stake more than the 3 points, he never seems tio have got over that spat about loaning/signing Puncheon, and all the banter about NOT letting is sign Matt Phillips when he was at Blackpool. Avenue Saint Posted 28 September, 2013 Share Posted 28 September, 2013 Ramirez has to finally start. The only two games we have won this season have both seen him START. They guy might put a few passes wayward but even if one comes off, that might be the decisive goal maker. I would risk a couple of sloppy passes for the chance of a game changing pass in final third all day long.. Would love to see him come in for Rodriguez. Why do you need pace when there's nowhere to run? Palace WILL park it up.
