Really should be beating this lot, their squad looks weak and they've got an idiot in charge.

I'd love another clean sheet from a solid performance, and it's about time we started converting some chances.

2-0 Osvaldo brace

Rodriguez and Lallana don't look like scoring whilst Ramirez's goal last night and his finish at Barnsley were clinical. We need goals from somebody, both Lambert and Osvaldo can but aren't yet, so for me I'd leave either Rodriguez or Lallana out.

Lallana doesn't look like scoring? Norwich away hit the post with a cracking strike, WBA missed out on a goal with the tightest of offside decisions, Liverpool away tested their keeper when 1-on-1, should have done better with that one.

Front 4 of Lallana, Gaston, J-Rod & Ossie for me. SRL from the bench. Contentious I know, but I'm not convinced Rickie & Ossie work as a pair and Lambert I quite like as a player who can change a game when its needed.

Not sure we need to play the 2 DM's for this game, 1 should be enough. I'd go with a 4-1-3-2.

Holy

Clyne Lovren Fonte Shaw

Victor

Lallana Ramirez Jay

Dani Rickie

Why bother with a keeper? And do we really need four defenders? Surely we'd be better off getting 11 forwards on the pitch..?

Hi All

I am taking 2 Australian mates to this game it is there first ever Southampton game and Premier League game, normally when i go to St Marys it is a get in and get out job, so not sure where to take them before the game.. Any suggestion of a pub with a good atmosphere beforehand? What else should i be doing so they enjoy their first day in Southampton and St Marys!

Cheers

If it helps you Clyne and Shaw will be bombing past Victor.

Bombing past Victor? We should call them Valiant and Vulcan.

(One for the oldies amongst us - you know who you are!)

We do indeed, Saw a Vulcan coming into land once, I was running along a lane near Mallaig, awesome noise, I dived into the adjacent ditch.

When I was a little boy and living at Harwich I saw a flight of the three of them over Felixstowe way. It must have been and air show at Woodbridge. These sights stick in your mind.

Ramirez for J Rod please. And consider taking Ricky off (shock horror) at some point for J Rod after he's knackered their defence out physically and J Rod's pace can exploit any holes

This is undoubtedly a banana skin. I would put Lambert on the bench and have Davis in the hole behind Osvaldo - strong midfield which retains attacking options. Bring on SRL at 75m to either control the game for a win or to attempt recovery if we're losing.

Palace have looked poor this season but fortunately for us they've looked very open too. Reckon this will be a 2-0/2-1 to us type of game as they won't park the bus like other teams.

Can't wait to take the **** out of the palace ultras too, they quite possibly the most embarrassing thing in football at the moment

But he didn't score. Ramirez put his away that's the difference.

There's another difference in the level of opposition, so comparing like for like is a bit daft. Lallana was a 20 goal a season man at lower level. That's another difference.

Don't do it!

We took Australian mates to Sunderland at home last year... Put them off football for ever! :D

I'd wager that Ramirez would get 20 goals in League One as well.

Agree, i can't stand fans that moan about our players when they cba to even watch the matches. Lallana has had numerous chances this season, had the ball in the net once, hit the woodwork twice and keeps getting in good positions. Not to mention assist for Liverpool goal....

In summary of Derry - yup, lets drop lallana :mcinnes:

they looked pretty good when dismantling Sunderland, something we failed to do.

So long as no one passes the ball to Wanyama we should do just fine.......if somebody does well its not all bad as we can all pop out for a pie and a pint and get back to our seats before he moves the ball along.

90% of your posts over the last 2 months have been about how crap Wanyama is and how we need Cork back. Are you related to Cork or something?

It's not obvious at all, is it...? ;)

(I made it 87% btw) :)

Having Sunderland's best defender sent off probably helped.

Having Di Canio as Sunderland's manager helped even more

If we are leading comfortably with twenty minutes to go I think we have a real opportunity to tip Holloway over the edge. Premier League he's having a laugh sung for twenty minutes solid would leave him seething.

Yeah that would be an amazing way to celebrate our first home win in the league for 6 months :uhoh:

LOL at the palace fans trying to guess the attendance as well on one forum

Loads of them thinking they are in for a real tonking.........has 0-0 all over it

Amazing how many Palace fans think Jason Puncheon can play.

They are in for a surprise when they find out it is in the Premier League rules that a loanee can't play against his parent club.

I'm surprised you haven't yet signed up to their forum to set them straight.

I can see the same team selected again but food for thought as far as Premier League goals from play is concerned, Lallana 3 from 35, Rodriguez 6 from 40, Ramirez 5 from 29.

If only all were like you hey?

26 is unrealistic but he should easily have 15-17.

For that money he should have at least another half a dozen from the games he hasn't played in

That's very juvenile.
