We wont play in stripes or yellow while Nicola is here. He doesn't like either.

 

Adam is getting frustrated at being subbed constantly, but Poch does not want to upset some of the other players, and he see's Adam as the 'easy option'.

 

( the bit about kits is just what I heard from someone in the club shop, and the bit about Adam, I can guarantee is 100% truth. )

They still work there, no reason not to believe them but then again, how would they know that.. just passing on what I have heard.

Well if Adam starts taking his chances he won't be taken off

If he takes a chance, and we are left defending the lead he has given us, I suspect he will be taken off .

Well thats rubbish, as Saints had a red/white striped home kit and a yellow away kit in 2011/12.

I don't think that MP is that negative, but you may be right in that he could be sacrificed to make us more solid. The thought in itself tells us a lot as we must all understand he is for attack not defence and so should understand why he is being subbed.

Isn't it far more likely that there is a much simpler explanation for Lallana always being subbed: because he runs his socks off for the team and is knackered by the 70 minute mark?

MP knew that he was on the brink of being sacked and needed 3 points at Anfield. Therefore couldn't risk leave the lama on because his heart condition still causes problems from 70 mins plus. This is what we have learnt from saints web already this week. It's this kind of info I pay my fiver for.

youre not keeping up, as it also is a fact that NC opens his heart to the employees in the club shop about shirt policy.Afterall any decent chairman talks these policies over in the club shop

Well that's life in the Prem, he doesn't have like it (worried if he did) but he does have to suck it up. A couple more £30 m transfer windows and he will be llucky to get on the bench.

Aye. The magnificent bloody effort Adam puts in every single game seldom receives the recognition it deserves. What a player.

We've got different colour shirts this season ...(years ago people used to criticise when they changed the colour of team socks ! :rolleyes: (stripes, part red / part white).. so let's move on !

 

Lallana, like many midfielders, does a lot of running, (especially off the ball) and was back defending in the 6 yard box at one stage on Saturday, he uses up a lot of energy for someone so slight in build.

 

There's no reason to play someone 90+ mins. just to prove a point, and a fresh pair of legs in midfield around the hour mark is a good tactic, (as is subbing a striker whose not in the game),

 

.......the longer a player is on, the more likely he is to tire and make mistakes. I'm just glad we have the likes of JWP and Steven Davis who can come on and DAJFU when it matters.

 

.....not to mention the fact that (as a former Academy graduate) ... he is (at present) keeping a £12 million international player out of the starting line-up.....

If there is one bloke I'm gonna believe when it comes to the ins and outs behind the scenes of a premier league football club, itsa fat bloke that fell on his arse doing a half time relay that works in Mcdonalds.

I totally believe the OP its common knowledge Cortese has boardroom meetings with all the staff of the club shops. He asks their opinion and keeps them up to date with all the major decisions.

This is all utter rubbish. Last time I checked Cortese was in charge when we wore stripes in the Championship and...oh wait...we also had a yellow away kit....if he 'hated' it then why allow it in one of the seasons when he had control of the kits?

 

As for Potch subbing Adam over other players so that he doesn't upset them...clearly this is absolutely nonsensical and I sincerely hope that people have more faith in our manager than to believe this rubbish.

To be fair, I think if you really are going to be dressed in the latest club kit every year, it's much better value to have a complete change every year, rather than fork out upwards of £40 for a new shirt that has stripes that are ¼" wider than the one you've already got.

Lallana put in a lot of effort on Saturday, never seen him defending on the edge of our box like that before so it obviously took a lot out of him. No surprise in him being subbed really, don't think he's a 90 minute player at all, better to get 60 minutes on full power out of him than 90 at half pace, you don't throw away a 1-0 lead at Anfield just to keep fans happy.As for the shirts I really, really don't care, I've seen so many different outfits at Saints that it just doesn't matter.

The next board meeting involving NC and the shop staff is going to be tense. Nick there, going over the player budgets, ranting about how he hates stripes, staring at the shop staff knowing that he can't trust them. Shop staff staring back, wondering why they are involved in the board meeting, hoping nobody blabs to bowers-sfc again.

there are numerous reason why lallana may be getting subbed, protecting him, fitness, tactical? Motivation or general squad rotation? The lad is still club captain and is playing better and better.... we certainly don't need this kind of negativity after a great away win.. Are you also aware that there is a lallana article out today which is an interview of him praising pochettino and the team on a job well done and tactics instigated brilliantly - hardly kicking up a fuss?

 

In addition. we have had to kits featuring yellow since NC was here.... one of which we wore for 2 seasons... We also don' tend to play in yellow away every season... so we have had a pretty decent of yellow kits since 09/10?

 

I dread to think what negative crap would come out if the club hadn't gone up 3 divisions in 2 years and wasn't now looking to knock on the door to europe having signed Italy's number 9 and 2 other champions league quality signings. Some of the rubbish is bad now, i dread to think what would be worse...

What a load of bull****....

 

The whole Porch not wanting to upset players thing is what gives it away. Who would he be upsetting? Ward Prowse and Chambers who seem to be the sub's used most of the time? West Ham game we only made 2 sub's. I doubt the youngsters need to be kept happy. It would be players like Ramirez who don't seem to be coming on as a sub recently.

 

The thing that makes me laugh is that the same old faces will believe anything.

I heard the same about stripes, solid red is NC's preference.

 

Not sure why the SWF mong crewe feel the need to jump on anyone who posts a rumour.

 

Only took 4 and a half years and 15 kits before he got to his "preference"......

 

I heard he wanted us to play in pink but was put off because Pompey beat us to it.
