Good to meet with some Northern Saints who are also posters on here.

Others are much better at summing up games than me, but f**k me, what a defence we have and what a save from the keeper.

The manager was bang on with his subs and changes in formation & the fans were excellent.

I love away wins!

My nipper has a 100% record at Anfield!

At risk of sounding like a happy clappy m-boarder and realising it is only early days, Lovern to me looks one of the best centre halves in the premier league. Absolute class and a snip. Superb defensive display, was a bit backs to the wall for 20 minutes after the goal but we rode it well and last 15 we kept Liverpool at arms length superbly and closed the game out well.

3 great saves from Boruc and a great display from him, so calm and confident.

Wanyama again gave it away cheaply on occasions but look solid and much improved.

We've still not really clicked up front but you can see MP is making us tough to beat and score against and in truth apart from Gerard's Free kick and Moses shot in the first half they created little.

In many ways the perfect away performance, defended well, some good saves, looked dangerous on the break and ultimately took our chance and saw the game out in style. A very happy saints fan tonight.

Hangovers are so much more bearable with 3 points in the bag.

Top day out and first shout out goes to the Saints fans who were brilliant yesterday...... Now, where to start.

Lovren - Pure class and a fantastic buy. Surprised not to read more about the header. He had to beat two defenders, turning away from goal.

Fonte - Juts keeps upping his game. Most people thought he would be the Centre half that lost his place, Lovren is getting the plaudits, but Fonte is playing his part. Highest fantasy football defender?

Osvaldo - In a week when we have had far too much champions league ******** chat, watch this guy closely and you'll see how far off we are.....and that's not him, that's the players around him. This lad is a different class and anyone posting he was cr@p or is a waste of money should be banned from posting. He is two steps ahead of the rest of the team.

Boruc - Two great saves.

Wanyama - still making some mistakes but just bullys and bosses that midfield.

I guess the argument that we should just enjoy and relish in wins like that, is right and I am, but there is still work to be done. The shape up front, isn't working 100% and we do give the ball away to cheaply sometimes. Gaston still has to come back into the team. I think Jrod will lose his place.

And a final shout out to mignolet the first one handed save and then the triple save were incredible.

One of the best unplanned and fractured train journeys ever!

Took three times longer than it should and was five times as fun - Back via Manchester with unscheduled stops in Birmingham, Oxford and Reading with plenty of neutrals (and Mancs) giving 'props' and 'nuf respect' to the Saints!

Do we, now, have the best away support in the Premiership? I think so.

Excellent. That's the kind of positivity and eloquence that keeps me coming back to this forum.

it's not even close on several levels , to even make a statement of that nature shows a real lack of knowledge, we don't even take the max allocation of tickets ffs , we're about midtable

Just got back, great weekend. Mate won £600 and happened to catch JWP shirt. All in all a pretty decent away weekend.

V impressed, not been to Liverpool or Anfield before. Excellent day from start to finish, drove up to Crewe and trained in. Couple in the Ship and Mitre, then Arkles, then a walk round the ground. A proper football ground that oozes tradition and the memorial is very well done. Natives v friendly and very generous with their time and comments. Train back to Crewe in high spirits and chatting with a couple of top Saints fans I'd not before, really really good day out, our away support is top draw on days like this.

Shame the jobsworth stewards on the bottom tier left side block felt the need to keep on making everyone sit, yet they didn't even bother trying with the saints fans in block next to us. Poor consistency.

We were just on the right hand side of the gangway and weren't asked to sit down once, yet everybody in the centre block were being told to sit down every few minutes.

Still haven't got my voice back yet! For some unknown (probably beer induced) reason I could have sworn it was Jose who scored!! Probably explains why not many joined in with me singing Jose Fonte Baby song!!

Bumped into a few of the London Saints (Ship & mitre), Northern Saints (post match outside ground) and even Nick's UI crew (HT and post match beers in Sandon Pub). Met up with DellBoy Pete pre match but didn't quite make it to see LetsbeAvenue in his pub down the road.

Great day out, and only got good feedback from all the scousers I talked to post match, and a big thank you from a BlueNose on the train, he was so happy hearing my account that he missed his stop, but still had a big grin on his face when he got off next stop!!

The 7-1 Payback is now settled.

Bundles of fun! Thank you for pointing out that my ignorance is bliss.

Perhaps, as I am corporate whore and didn't actually have to worry about being told to sit down or sweat through my jeans and £50 replica shirt which I hate, I was able to enjoy the sight and sound of my fellow Saints, at least little more than worrying about the uptake of our tickets?

Bless you and, either way, I thought you sang beautifully.
