Matthew Le God Posted 23 September, 2013 Share Posted 23 September, 2013 They beat Palarse reserves in the last round though. And our reserves beat a Championship side easily in the last round. krissyboy31 Posted 23 September, 2013 Share Posted 23 September, 2013 Do you? Why? The bench for the 5-1 away win over Championship team Barnsley in the 2nd round was... 01 K Davis 02 Clyne 03 Yoshida 06 Fonte 13 Fox 08 S Davis 10 Ramirez 18 Cork 27 Isgrove (Rowe - 72' ) 09 Rodriguez (Reed - 81' ) 24 Mayuka (Sinclair - 90' ) Substitutes 25 Gazzaniga 16 Ward-Prowse 22 Chambers 39 Sinclair 35 Stevens 37 Rowe 38 Reed I think most (if not all) of the starting XI for the Crystal Palace game next Saturday won't be involved at all tomorrow and it'll be fringe players in the starting XI and youngsters on the bench. Lambert, Lallana, Boruc, Shaw, Clyne, Schneiderlin, Wanyama, Osvaldo, Lovren etc all probably won't feature and they shouldn't need to. The starting XI from the Barnsley team is more than strong enough to beat a League One team, as they should in the last round vs. a Championship side. This! Except I'd still be tempted to start with Osvaldo to try and get him his first goal.

I went down to get my ticket this morning Ticket office well staffed but I was the only one there. Doesn't bode well for tonight. I have to say, as a long standing Saints fan, I was rather put out in having to pay an additional £2.00 to buy my ticket on the day of the match and for a couple of seconds thought about saying 'Stuff it' and walking away I have never waited so late in the day to buy a match ticket but had been trying to find someone to go with. There are 8 in our group but I am the only one going I was also mildly irritated by having to provide my season ticket details (again can't remember being asked this before) but do understand the disciplines. However my details couldn't be found initially so had to wait around until the computer came up with the information. I then was concerned about having to pay for parking. Not a major issue but an irritation All in all I left feeling rather dispirited by the experience but perhaps that is more an age related thing allied to 50 years or so supporting the Saints!!!!!!! They did the same for the pre-season game, didn't mention it anywhere it'd be £2 more on the day. I guess they know that once people have headed down the ground, they're going to pay it regardless, but how many really fancy paying £20 (not much less than West Brom or Arsenal away tickets) for tonight's match? Giordano Posted 24 September, 2013 Share Posted 24 September, 2013 Goals against Bristol City do not count. Good passes playing against Bristol City do not count. Clean sheet versus Bristol City does not count. We are Real Madrid and Barcelona and Bayern Munich rolled into one. We are that good that when we concede two goals in five games, are denied goals by MOM goalkeeping performances in those and beat top of the table Liverpool at Anfield who already beat Man Utd there that we need to criticise SRL for being rubbish, Osvaldo ditto, Adam ditto, Jrod toothless and especially Big Vic for not being able to pass. Plus Mopo is one game away from the sack. My goodness if only those players and the Manager were any good we would be laughing. We would be top of the table on 20 points from 5 games not 8 because the Premier League had decided to give us extra points per game for style and class. #ridiculousexpectations......#getreal..........#preparingforcupupset(anythinglessthan5-0win)+#wristslittersconventionherelatertonight

spyinthesky Posted 24 September, 2013 Author Share Posted 24 September, 2013 I really do hope that the feedback from here gets to those people at the club responsible for ticket pricing policy. I want to be entertained on the pitch but a lack lustre match day atmosphere is not good for the experience of watching football and also can't really help the players. ART Posted 24 September, 2013 Share Posted 24 September, 2013 Until we start scoring goals, I think that all our strikers and goal scorers should be involved in some manner tonight. Whether playing in the starting eleven or on the bench we can't let this opportunity to work on scoring. Were they still unable to come up with a few goals, then we should start asking questions of what they can do!!!
