Bristol City Build Up

Do you? Why?

The bench for the 5-1 away win over Championship team Barnsley in the 2nd round was...

01 K Davis

02 Clyne

03 Yoshida

06 Fonte

13 Fox

08 S Davis

10 Ramirez

18 Cork

27 Isgrove (Rowe - 72' )

09 Rodriguez (Reed - 81' )

24 Mayuka (Sinclair - 90' )

Substitutes

25 Gazzaniga

16 Ward-Prowse

22 Chambers

39 Sinclair

35 Stevens

37 Rowe

38 Reed

I think most (if not all) of the starting XI for the Crystal Palace game next Saturday won't be involved at all tomorrow and it'll be fringe players in the starting XI and youngsters on the bench.

Lambert, Lallana, Boruc, Shaw, Clyne, Schneiderlin, Wanyama, Osvaldo, Lovren etc all probably won't feature and they shouldn't need to. The starting XI from the Barnsley team is more than strong enough to beat a League One team, as they should in the last round vs. a Championship side.

This! Except I'd still be tempted to start with Osvaldo to try and get him his first goal.

I'd like to see

K. Davis

Chambers

Hooiveld

Yoshida

Fox...but I think he's hurt...so our U-21 LB should take this place

S. Davis

Cork

Gaston

Isgrove

Lee

Rodriguez

Bench

Cropper

JWP

Sinclair

Rowe

Stevens

Reed

....and one more player from the U-21s that has earned a place.

Gazzaniga

Chambers

Hooiveld

Yoshida

Fox (targett if fox is injured)

Cork

Davis

Guly

JWP

Isgrove

JRod

k.Davis Stephens Reed Rowe Targett Sinclair and 1 other promising youngster. Dom Gape would be a guess

I'd agree with that but swap JR for Gaston, play him In the hole and Guly up top.

Davis

Chambers Yoshida Hooiveld Clyne

Lallana, Wanyama, Cork, Ramirez

Rodriguez, Lambert

Would really like to see some goals for the front two, and a good opportunity for Wanyama to practice his passing.

All for giving the underlings a run, but replacing the whole side is asking for one up the Jacksie.

Would like a run in this cup.

Lol not that much of a surge! We'll be lucky to have 10k there tonight.

I went down to get my ticket this morning

Ticket office well staffed but I was the only one there.

Doesn't bode well for tonight.

I have to say, as a long standing Saints fan, I was rather put out in having to pay an additional £2.00 to buy my ticket on the day of the match and for a couple of seconds thought about saying 'Stuff it' and walking away

I have never waited so late in the day to buy a match ticket but had been trying to find someone to go with.

There are 8 in our group but I am the only one going

I was also mildly irritated by having to provide my season ticket details (again can't remember being asked this before) but do understand the disciplines.

However my details couldn't be found initially so had to wait around until the computer came up with the information.

I then was concerned about having to pay for parking. Not a major issue but an irritation

All in all I left feeling rather dispirited by the experience but perhaps that is more an age related thing allied to 50 years or so supporting the Saints!!!!!!!

interesting, i don't recall the initial "ticket information" about this game saying the £18 price was exclusively for advanced purchases?

that is sneaky!! the should make very clear what the price will be and when,

this is what the announcement said

"There will be 20 loyalty points available for this game, with tickets priced at £18 for adults, £14 for concessions (over-65s and 17-21s), £10 for under-17s and £5 for under-11s"

i saw an advert for West Ham's game v Cardiff (which they have advertised every day in the Evening Standard). it makes clear it is £15 adults in advance rising to £20 on the day, why can't saints add that additional line to their statement?

They did the same for the pre-season game, didn't mention it anywhere it'd be £2 more on the day. I guess they know that once people have headed down the ground, they're going to pay it regardless, but how many really fancy paying £20 (not much less than West Brom or Arsenal away tickets) for tonight's match?

Goals against Bristol City do not count. Good passes playing against Bristol City do not count. Clean sheet versus Bristol City does not count.

We are Real Madrid and Barcelona and Bayern Munich rolled into one. We are that good that when we concede two goals in five games, are denied goals by MOM goalkeeping performances in those and beat top of the table Liverpool at Anfield who already beat Man Utd there that we need to criticise SRL for being rubbish, Osvaldo ditto, Adam ditto, Jrod toothless and especially Big Vic for not being able to pass. Plus Mopo is one game away from the sack. My goodness if only those players and the Manager were any good we would be laughing. We would be top of the table on 20 points from 5 games not 8 because the Premier League had decided to give us extra points per game for style and class.

I've just checked and if you buy your ticket online now, it's still £18 with a £1 cost. So worth it to book ahead instead of buying at the ground.

Only Itchin, Northam and a tiny bit of the Chapel behind the goal is open though.

it looks like loads of tickets have been sold last coulple of days as Itchen blocks 4-10 (only ones open) are nearly sold out. Not sure if they'll allow people to spead out into block 11 or put that on sale.

3 blocks in the chapel that are open, 17, 18,. 19 and thousands left.

the Northam is a funny one, loads of tickets left in 40, 41 and 42, plus block 43 despite being shaded out is actually available to buy in if you click on in. out of 1024 seats there are still 951 available!

The guy buying our tickets was just charged £20 (matchday price) plus £2.50 in fees per ticket. That's a pretty hefty increase.

Jesus christ. It'd be interesting to see if prices stay the same round by round. If it increases each time we could end up paying upwards of £50 for the quarters/semis.

did he buy them at the ticket office window or over the phone?

when i got mine the other day i didn't pay a booking fee at the window, and was told this only applies now for phone purchases or £1 if online

I went down this morning and bloke said there were only a few seats left in the Itchen but loads in the Northam. I asked for a ticket there and he asked where I wanted to sit. I said "I don't mind, I'll sit where I want when I get in" and he said "true. Do you want an aisle seat?"

Had to pay £20 too, even though it still said £18 on the ticket. I won't buy a beer at half time now.

I really do hope that the feedback from here gets to those people at the club responsible for ticket pricing policy.

I want to be entertained on the pitch but a lack lustre match day atmosphere is not good for the experience of watching football and also can't really help the players.

Like the Cat I wont now buy a programme or purchase from the wonderful array of food and specialist beers on tap in the catering centre.

Until we start scoring goals, I think that all our strikers and goal scorers should be involved in some manner tonight. Whether playing in the starting eleven or on the bench we can't let this opportunity to work on scoring. Were they still unable to come up with a few goals, then we should start asking questions of what they can do!!!

I actually really looking forward to this games now, despite the overpriced ticket. I hope that we pass the ball crisply and get some confidence boosting goals. Bringing my Spurs supporting boss with me to this one, he seems fairly open to convertion to saints, as he likes live footy but never goes up to WHL.

COYR do us proud.
