Saint_clark Posted 21 September, 2013 Share Posted 21 September, 2013 Stewards suddenly started getting you to sit down?
Delboy Dave Posted 21 September, 2013 Share Posted 21 September, 2013 I bet no one did, just a ploy by Liverpool to try and get you to sit down by playing on your morals
LGTL Posted 21 September, 2013 Share Posted 21 September, 2013 I saw one pathetic middle aged woman complaining. She should be put down.
JRM Posted 21 September, 2013 Share Posted 21 September, 2013 I saw one pathetic middle aged woman complaining. She should be put down. best off ignoring them mate, she probably needed a rest after 6 hours sat gormlessly on the bingo bus
SuperMikey Posted 21 September, 2013 Share Posted 21 September, 2013 I saw one pathetic middle aged woman complaining. She should be put down. There was a woman like that at Spurs away last season too. Why do people complain about it? Surely they're not stupid enough to expect everyone to sit down in the away end? Isla Wight Posted 21 September, 2013 Share Posted 21 September, 2013 I always prefer to sit - mainly because of my advancing years and dodgy back. However I am aware that when I go to away games I will have to stand for the whole game.
alehouseboys Posted 22 September, 2013 Share Posted 22 September, 2013 Now I'm all for everyone (that wants to) standing at football but I believe at Anfield if you're sat in the back few rows of the visitors section you really can't see anything if fans stand up because of the overhang of the tier above so it probably was just procedure. I think it's more a disgrace that Liverpool can charge what they do for those seats knowing that. People do stand at football.
Sour Mash Posted 22 September, 2013 Share Posted 22 September, 2013 Stewards were an absolute nightmare again up there yesterday, didn't come remotely close to getting the people at the back to sit down, so why spend so much time P*****g off people at the front who are trying to watch the game? Griffo Posted 22 September, 2013 Share Posted 22 September, 2013 Had some bloke right up the back row who kept asking people to sit down because his wife couldn't see. What do you expect being in the back row of an away end? I suggested he was more suited to the theatre.
View From The Top Posted 22 September, 2013 Share Posted 22 September, 2013 Stewards insisted on trying to get the block I was in, right next to the bin-dippers, to sit down, yet the block next to us they said nowt to. My 11yo nipper knows the score when we go away, if he can't see he stands on his seat.
OldNick Posted 22 September, 2013 Share Posted 22 September, 2013 I saw one pathetic middle aged woman complaining. She should be put down.the ignorance of youth lol. I suspect the young braves who stand up now will be the 'pathetic middle aged complaining' in 20-30years time. I suspect that lady has given many years travelling supporting our team. Many of the aged people you moan about probably went through a lot more to support their team in the late 60's 70 and 80s that the cosseted and escorted fans do now to football matches . Going to away game 20-30 years ago was not like it is now( thankfully)
RedAndWhite91 Posted 22 September, 2013 Share Posted 22 September, 2013 Happened last season at Anfield. Some woman moaned and all of us down the front in front of her were made to sit down, surrounded by stewards, whilst the rest of our support was allowed to stand. Going to away game 20-30 years ago was not like it is now( thankfully) Well said. It is a difficult one. I am quite happy to sit down away (though generally you are 'up and down'), but also recognise that some games will be standing regardless - which I don't mind either. However I do also feel a little sorry for older fans who are unable to stand for a whole game and are forced to - they have, after all, paid for a "seat". The only way round it would be for clubs to allocate seats at the front to those who want to sit, and work the allocation from the back for those who don't. This will never happen however as it would be seen as condoning standing in seated areas, which would contravene stadium regulations. The other obvious answer is 'safe standing' areas, but that is a whole other argument...

The other obvious answer is 'safe standing' areas, but that is a whole other argument...i understand why some get frustrated with people who want to sit down, it seemed at one time that the older fans used to get the seats in the stands and the lads would go on the terraces, of course with all seating the fans get mixed together. The young fans need to respect the others but of course the mix makes it harder for an atmosphere to be achieved,as the older fans don't necessarily want to do the.
