cryoman1965 Posted 21 September, 2013 Posted 21 September, 2013 Scheduled date for this is 14 December at 1500 hrs. Looking to make travel arrangements but unsure if it will be moved for TV or not. Anyone confirm if we are are to do so. Cheers N
Forester Posted 21 September, 2013 Posted 21 September, 2013 they will release the next set of TV games over the next month or so - and so it is a big risk to book trains at present I think
Berkshire Saint Posted 21 September, 2013 Posted 21 September, 2013 Yep, TV games not been picked yet but Spurs v Liverpool and Norwich v Swansea have been moved to the Sunday due to Europa League. The former will almost certainly be picked by Sky. Man City v Arsenal is also that weekend and will be selected but otherwise not too many obvious ones that round. If ours is moved, a Sunday lunch time kick off would probably be the most tolerable like last season.

cryoman1965 Posted 22 September, 2013 Author Posted 22 September, 2013 Thanks for the replies. I will hold off booking the flights till a more certain kick off. Why has it got to be so difficult. N
grantsaint Posted 22 September, 2013 Posted 22 September, 2013 Cryoman- hoping for this to get changed as well. Allow some of us Scottish Saints to get to a 'home' game. Last year was great due to both Sunderland and Newcastle away games were changed to the Sunday.

grantsaint Posted 23 September, 2013 Posted 23 September, 2013 Can't get to Saturday games due to my own football commitments on a saturday!!
SFC Chris Posted 1 October, 2013 Posted 1 October, 2013 I've booked my train alrwady... Praying it isn't moved!
cryoman1965 Posted 2 October, 2013 Author Posted 2 October, 2013 I've booked my train alrwady... Praying it isn't moved! Hope it stays on Saturday aswell. Wish they would hurry up and confirm as public transport prices continue to rise as the date nears. Had a plan to fly originally but flight prices went through the roof last weekend. I get the feeling they don, t care about the fans.
Saint Garrett Posted 1 November, 2013 Posted 1 November, 2013 Anyone interested in car sharing with me+1? 2 of us looking to go Friday and come back on Sunday from Basingstoke - happy to contribute petrol (or drive myself and you contribute)?
Huffton Posted 4 November, 2013 Posted 4 November, 2013 Anyone know when this is likely to be confirmed date/time? Need to get some travel/accomodation sorted pretty soon.
Lets B Avenue Posted 4 November, 2013 Posted 4 November, 2013 Anyone know when this is likely to be confirmed date/time? Need to get some travel/accomodation sorted pretty soon. They gave out last month all the televised games till the new year. This one isn't affected.
SFC Chris Posted 5 November, 2013 Posted 5 November, 2013 They gave out last month all the televised games till the new year. This one isn't affected. That's a relief. When should we expect tickets to be on general sale?

Lets B Avenue Posted 5 November, 2013 Posted 5 November, 2013 That's a relief. When should we expect tickets to be on general sale? Chelsea are on sale now. Newcastle is a fortnight later, so expect them to sell in 2 weeks time. But this is our TO so logic goes out the window.
Saint Garrett Posted 6 November, 2013 Posted 6 November, 2013 http://www.canaries.co.uk/news/article/newcastle-a-1141225.aspx I see Norwich are halving the price of their tickets for this one - would be nice if we were to do the same - especially so close to Christmas. If not - it's about £35 I think, not too bad.
mirrorcarp Posted 11 November, 2013 Posted 11 November, 2013 Lots of discussion in our group about how to get there. Anyone found any good deals on trains or planes for this. Best i managed £170 fly southampton or £106.50 on train. Car clearly cheapest but dont fancy this option. Anyone else using public transport.
100%Red&White Posted 11 November, 2013 Posted 11 November, 2013 £29 return from Glasgow on the train! That's me sorted, I'm flying to Glasgow and getting the train!
Huffton Posted 11 November, 2013 Posted 11 November, 2013 Should have booked my train tickets last week, could have got them for £80, gone up now top over £100 so think I will be driving:x
View From The Top Posted 11 November, 2013 Posted 11 November, 2013 £30 return for the nipper and I via Carlisle. Couldn't drive for that.

Going to fly sat morning ,night out in Newcastle and fly home Sunday lunchtime. Sod the expense we could be top of the league ha ha.

Did look at doing that but going to Arsenal and Chelsea, and with it being so close to Christmas I can't really afford it - going to be a pricey one!
JamesSaints97 Posted 13 November, 2013 Posted 13 November, 2013 Anybody getting the train from London?
teenagegsaint Posted 13 November, 2013 Posted 13 November, 2013 anybody think this will be hard to get tickets for? for season ticket holders who haven't been to an away game?

ashleyb5443 Posted 24 November, 2013 Posted 24 November, 2013 I have some ST Numbers that I can buy tickets on if anyone would like to use them. I'm out of the country so won't be using them.
Saint Garrett Posted 24 November, 2013 Posted 24 November, 2013 Anyone know of any decent/cheap hotels in Newcastle? Preferably with a car park ?
Huffton Posted 24 November, 2013 Posted 24 November, 2013 Have a look on Trivago.com, quite a few to choose from

SFC Chris Posted 29 November, 2013 Posted 29 November, 2013 Managed to purchase tickets this morning. Should be a beltin day out
stevegrant Posted 29 November, 2013 Posted 29 November, 2013 Tickets now on general sale. For any season ticket holder who has missed out on the more popular games this season, this is a perfect opportunity to move yourself up that priority order.
southamptonbairn Posted 4 December, 2013 Posted 4 December, 2013 I just hope when Newcastle come to St Marys we charge them £10 extra like they have done to us. £27 for an adult ticket behind the goal for home fans and we are in the Gods paying £37

Saint Garrett Posted 12 December, 2013 Posted 12 December, 2013 Where are the watering holes for Saturday then? Driving up tomorrow at some point, and will be hungover....not looking forward to it! Heard Idols is good if you want some girls in not a lot!!

Heard Idols is good if you want some girls in not a lot!! Depends on your priorities. Idols for scantily dressed (or undressed) young females, Bogeda for a decent real pint. Big decision.
Huffton Posted 13 December, 2013 Posted 13 December, 2013 Getting the train up with nipper in the morning, arriving about lunchtime, any decent pubs near the station where we can get some food?

You got to remember Garret is a young lad exploring the country, filled with wonder about what goes on outside the SO postcodes, it's quite sweet.

Tbf I don't have a clue what goes on inside the SO postcode apart from the football team!
