Di Canio has lost the plot

He's always been an accident waiting to happen. His antics at Swindon were brushed over because they were lower league, and to be fair he had some success overall, but some of his antics down there were disgraceful really. In the PL his madness will get continually highlighted; quite what the hell he was thinking today though.

Can't see him lasting much longer.

I think the bloke is quality to be fair, very entertaining. Not a particularly good manager though and will be gone by Xmas with Sunderland bottom of the league.

Pretty much this, he isnt our manager so Ill sit back and watch the fireworks.

Edit - oh, well that was short lived

His strategy is one and one only and relies more on hyped motivation than mental strength. Once questions are asked his teams just crumble before frustration leads to internal problems.

As for his promotion with Swindon I think their financial troubles last season from so early on after promotion showed that really they bought their way out of League Two and he was left exposed when something more than getting better players than other clubs became impossible. Of course his feisty character and the general low profile of L1 players meant that he actually left Swindon with any outsider feeling he was being treated unfairly or even maybe as a victim of a club in meltdown. Not the case though.

Loved him as a player, was fantastic to watch and is a character that the game needs. However I wouldn't want him as a manager of my club it was a really strange decision to appoint him, then let him spend millions and sack him so early. Sunderland seem to me like a club that is on a self destruct mission, wouldn't be at all surprised to seem them relegated this season or next whoever is charge.

He was a fantastic player.

I wonder if this is part of his problem as a manager (aside the fact he is an absolute headder), he seems unable to comprehend that not all other players are as good as he was.

Yep. Newcastle are lucky that they have had a decentish start. Had they started poorly then I would have backed them to join them.
